Ga. Supreme Court reverses Hemy Neuman conviction

Whoa. Re: Hemy Neumann. Am I understanding this correctly? The Defense was forced to turn over the work product of the psychologists and not just the report? I thought only reports were shared or am I wrong? Does this vary state to state?

As of this morning, there is an excessive heat watch in 281129's little corner of hell, 111 degrees they predict for today, topping out at 112 in the middle of the week.
At 8:43 am, it's currently 96 degrees in Goodyear, Az, but no doubt you can add a degree or two for Perryville with it's lack of trees, asphalt roads, concrete nad metal roofed bbuildings, and general desolation.
281129 just might need 3 sweatshirts and thermals, it's still kind of chilly for your general run of the mill Spawn of Satan.

281129 is sooooooo full of caca, her eyes are brown. Pffttt, sweatshirts, right!
:floorlaugh:
BBM - If she's really that cold, an extra 5 or 6 hours outside in her exercise cage should warm her up.

You have been very busy posting a lot of interesting things again, Y/N! That head transplant sounds awful to me. Why would I want someone else's head? Would my brain then have completely different thoughts, intelligence, etc.? If you gave me a murderer's head, wkd I become a murderer? Oh Lordy, the things I am thinking are not good.

Niner, the mother of an uncle (married to my dad's sister) came from Latvia. She was about 4 feet 6 inches tall, and probably as wide, and had no teeth. We called her "Little Gramma" ... and everyone adored her. As kids, we were always impressed that she loved eating steak .... without teeth. She was a tough cookie, for sure. Gosh, do I miss her.

A other rainy, steamy day here. I cannot imagine more rain for Texas, how awful that must be. But Nutraloaf and nasty heat for inmate #whatever is worthy of a deep chuckle.

I refuse to eat raw clams, no matter what you put on them!

Impatiently awaiting new kittie pics.... :waiting:

Have a nice day, all.

I can't seem to stay away from this thread... :hanging:

yeah... I was thinking about that too! Sounds like something out of "Frankenstein" !! :scared:

My Dad got his mother out of Latvia in 1964, as he was going to graduate UC Davis Veterinaran (sp?) school. Talk about RED tape!

About 89 here today! :sunshine: definitely summer! :summer: :hot:

you and me both!! :waiting: I'll try and get him to do it this afternoon - oh, no forgot, he has a doctor appointment down the hill in Sacramento - so maybe tonight! crossed fingers on getting them SOONER! LOL!

Have a nice day, all.

And you too!

Oh - Bernina - I shared your temps for Goodyear over at that Discussion thread - hope you don't mind! :blushing:

Niner, I don't have any idea when Little Gramma came here. It seems she was always here, at least since (or before) 1959. I assume it was before, as my uncle and his brothers and sisters were around as long as I can recall and I was born in 1949. Was it common for the kids to come first? I never knew her husband.... maybe she came after he died.

I doubt that tweet came from her. She's locked down. I don't even think she can finalize her approved list of people (for letters, visits, calls, etc.) until 60 days have passed.

But yes, it's getting hot down there. How high is the humidity?

Respectfully snipped

What a beautiful cat you have and wonderful, funny story you wrote. ( )
Thanks for posting your story.

Your cat is a calico cat with such beautiful colors. Our neighbors have a calico cat, but is very small, and he has thumbs!
I researched cats with thumbs and found this info:
------------------------------------

Polydactyl Cats: The Felines With Extra Toes

"...American writer Ernest Hemingway was a lover of polydactyl cats. He was given his first polydactyl cat, a white six-toed feline named Snowball, by a ship's captain; today, nearly 50 of Snowball's descendants still live at the Hemingway Home in Key West. Polydactyl cats are known by many names, including “Hemingway cats,” a reference to Snowball and her famous owner. They are also referred to as “mitten cats,” “big-foot cats” and “six-toed cats” — or even “cats with thumbs.”..."

-----------------------------------------------

We have had many wonderful Maine Coon cats over the years. They are the largest breed of domestic cats, and are predisposed to being polydactyl, apparently as an adaptation:

"Large paws, and especially the extra-large paws of polydactyl Maine Coons,[28] facilitate walking on snow and are often compared to snowshoes."

No notation about the humidity, but just think "pizza oven".

Seriously, it might feel like 101 in the SHADE.
Ran a bona-fide landscaping business down there in Scottsdale and parts nearby back in the 1980's. None of our trucks had AC because the shock from the blast of heat as you went from AC to hot really messed with your body. Depending on the humidity, if it was REALLY low, we'd work till it got between 115-117 degrees if we were doing trees of any sort, grass and hedges were early morning, late afternoon. Sometimes if the strip mall or shopping centers had parking lot lights, we'd trim palm trees at night, at least the sun wasn't cooking our brains and we didn't have to tape off customers' parking spots.
Lots of water, ice, sunscreen, wet rag on the back of your neck, and the occasional dunking your head in the ice chest as the ice melted.
Excellent money if you can tolerate the heat.

I just had to come back here and read about the 'Head Transplant' again!! Too creepy :fear: That's opening a whole new can of worms! IMO How will the connect all the many teeny, tiny nerves that connect to the spinal cord? So many questions, too little answers. I say leave it alone!!

This is something out of The Twilight Zone!

2008 - Tim Russert, of Meet the Press fame, died suddenly of a heart attack. The popular US journalist had become famous for conducting probing interviews with presidents and those aspiring to be president, as well as addressing political news on a weekly basis with Meet the Press.

I cried all week when he died.

This is so very sad, I remember him and didn't even know he had died. :(

Another zipline death... made me come back here as a place that would understand why it so affected me.... and .. so sad..

http://abc7.com/news/12-year-old-north-carolina-girl-killed-in-zip-line-accident/782038/

This is so horrible, can you imagine sending your child away to camp, putting your trust in the camp to take care of them and keep them safe, fully believing they are in as safe a place as they can possibly be in, and then they die like this? It's just unimaginable.

From Niner:

Actually, English is my third language... I think I do pretty good! or is that pretty well? LOL! My Huz always corrects me if I use a word wrong...

----------------------------------------------------
Niner:

You do pretty well and you're pretty good at what you do! :)

BBM

That changes everything for me! With a name like "Niner," I was under the impression you were all-American with a Latvian background. With this new information, I will now be reading your posts hearing an Eastern European accent in the back of my mind... :)

LOL

cj ~ I am not at all fond of this fact > The average chocolate bar has 8 insects' legs in it
I hope I don't remember that every time I eat a candy bar! It would be great for people on diets though

Geez back in my 20's I would eat the whole 1 lb. bag by myself! > To burn off one plain M&M candy, you need to walk the full length of a football field

OMG, Insect legs?!!!! :yuck: Uh, Dmacky, are there specific chocolate bars I might want to avoid , or is this pertaining to all ? :scared:

I'm sorry!! But, they are chocolate covered legs :) LOL at you eating the whole lb. bag. I know, I kinda went; "huh"? "No way"! heehee

Ok, I must have missed something, so all chocolate bars don't have insect legs in them ?

Well it’s official, hubby just turned off the cooler and turned on the AC. It does feel better; I just hate having to close up everything, especially the windows at night and early morning. It does make me happy knowing the evil one will only have a cooler for the entire summer. YAY!

I tried to read through everything, but am still confused. Was it addressed that with a "head transplant" you'd have someone else's brain? If so, you wouldn't even be yourself anymore... (right ?)

I don't know if I'm just not understanding or if this is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard of...

Hi all!

First I need to say :gthanks: to DexterMorgan, neesaki, Susza, Dmacky, Spellbound, Bravo, Ranchgirl, grammieto5, Chelly and EVERONE ELSE that I missed...

I turned off my computer yesterday earlier than usual. Thinking of the good memories and times we've had as a family. First my older sister Inta dies on the crossing to freedom from Latvia to Sweden, and now my youngest brother. I had a great Skype with my older brother and sisters. So no more sadness...

We have to wait and see what his girlfriend decides to do. He did tell her (I think before his illness) that he wanted to be cremated and scattered among the Redwoods up here in Northern California where we grew up. BUT!! :) we want a bit of his ashes to bury with my mother and father next year in Valmiera. My father is there (his boyhood town), and we will be burying my mother there. My sister in Mtn. View will be getting in touch with her either later today or tomorrow to express our wishes. I have a question ?? - how do I ask his girlfriend if I can have back the birthday present I sent my brother in May - it's a sweatshirt and says "American Grown - Latvian Roots" with the American flag on top with the Latvian flag on the bottom - I'll see if I can find a picture of it and post later. He didn't even get to open it, as they moved when he got the package, as I found out when I first heard he had liver cancer. Any suggestions?? :waitasec:

Me too, GigiG - they gave him 3 to 6 months and with the chemo pills 9 months. I believe he's been sick for at least 2 months before he went to the doctor. So... 3 months with no medical help.

:tyou: coffeejunkie for making me smile this morning! :D I read these to my Huz and he added a couple of comments! :)

neesaki another belated

and another  at coffeejunkie on the sneezing with first kiss! LOL!

and WOW! on the postman collecting ALL those pebbles!

okay - thanks again for all your good wishes, am feeling a bit better today. Do you all mind if I share some pictures of my little bro??

off to read elsewhere! Be back before I sign off for the day! :pcguru:

:seeya:

add a picture from about 1955 I'd say. My Dad took the picture - little bro in the middle in front of my Mom, and I'm on the right! :D

What a dear and precious photo, Niner. What a beautiful family. :happydance:

Re: the request for your gift, maybe you could just ask if you could have the gift you sent him as a memento , that it would mean a lot to you. I don't know how she could refuse. :seeya:
