OMG, Insect legs?!!!! :yuck: Uh, Dmacky, are there specific chocolate bars I might want to avoid , or is this pertaining to all ? :scared:

I could have gone a lifetime without the insect legs/chocolate information, but thanks anyway. :/

For the first time EVER I'm so glad I'm not a chocoholic! :)

Sorry for my belated happy birthday wishes, Neesaki. It also just dawned on my that you share your b-day with Juan Martinez*.

You're in good company!

*(I don't feel so bad, since even JMPSP missed it, too!).

I share my birthday with Juan Martinez ? :happydance:

Whoa. Re: Hemy Neumann. Am I understanding this correctly? The Defense was forced to turn over the work product of the psychologists and not just the report? I thought only reports were shared or am I wrong? Does this vary state to state?

Zuri, I am confused about this, too. If you can decipher the tea leaves, please share...

And today is also a sad day for the Baltic Countries - Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.... :(

Soviet Mass Deportations of 14 of June, 1941
http://latvianhistory.com/2012/06/14/soviet-mass-deportations-of-14-june-1941/

My Mother (20 years old at that time) told us that she was down by the train stations in Riga and people were throwing notes off the trains and she tried to pick most of them up by stepping on them and then dropping her hankerchief and picking up the notes. A Nazi soldier saw her and told her she better leave or he'd throw her on one of the trains... she scaddled!!!

So we have the American flag (Flag Day) and my Latvian flag hanging outside our house!

Map of Deportations

This gives me chills, I just can't even imagine what your dear mother and others there went through, Niner. :rose:

I'm still trying to catch up on all I've missed the last couple of days, but Thank you everyone for all the Birthday Wishes! :tyou: :loveyou:

And Niner, I'm lovin' those pics of your sweet family. :)

You have been very busy posting a lot of interesting things again, Y/N! That head transplant sounds awful to me. Why would I want someone else's head? Would my brain then have completely different thoughts, intelligence, etc.? If you gave me a murderer's head, wkd I become a murderer? Oh Lordy, the things I am thinking are not good.

Niner, the mother of an uncle (married to my dad's sister) came from Latvia. She was about 4 feet 6 inches tall, and probably as wide, and had no teeth. We called her "Little Gramma" ... and everyone adored her. As kids, we were always impressed that she loved eating steak .... without teeth. She was a tough cookie, for sure. Gosh, do I miss her.

A other rainy, steamy day here. I cannot imagine more rain for Texas, how awful that must be. But Nutraloaf and nasty heat for inmate #whatever is worthy of a deep chuckle.

I refuse to eat raw clams, no matter what you put on them!

Impatiently awaiting new kittie pics.... :waiting:

Have a nice day, all.

BBM If you are the body donor, you would have a new head and all the thoughts that go with it. Your body does not have any thoughts- only the brain does.

So, your head would be transplanted on a new donor body- your head would get a new body. :scared: But who are the body donors??? :scared:

Wonder how that would look? My old, decrepit face on a young body. -guess I would need a lot of plastic surgery.

:floorlaugh:

But maybe for people who have disabilities, this wouldn't be a :scared: or :floorlaugh: idea. It would be something to give them a new lease on a better life?

Anyway- not something I would ever consider for me.

It reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode: The Trade-ins (a little different as you would get a whole new body- head and all- just the brain would be transplanted)

An Alleged Mother… Casey Anthony, Four Years Later.

I think this article is a good read.
RIP Baby Girl you will never be forgotten :rose:

I could just :puke: every time I think of/read anything about that one in Florida living her life out of :jail: while poor little Caylee is dead.
It makes me very ill and :stormingmad: all over again. :(

(but that was a very good article- Thanks for posting it. )

Well it’s official, hubby just turned off the cooler and turned on the AC. It does feel better; I just hate having to close up everything, especially the windows at night and early morning. It does make me happy knowing the evil one will only have a cooler for the entire summer. YAY!

It was 90 degrees and very humid today.
I'm grateful for the A/C. I find it hard to breathe in humid weather.
Wonder what the criminals in prison who have a hard time breathing do when it's so hot/humid with only a swamp cooler to "cool" the air????

No notation about the humidity, but just think "pizza oven".

Seriously, it might feel like 101 in the SHADE.
Ran a bona-fide landscaping business down there in Scottsdale and parts nearby back in the 1980's. None of our trucks had AC because the shock from the blast of heat as you went from AC to hot really messed with your body. Depending on the humidity, if it was REALLY low, we'd work till it got between 115-117 degrees if we were doing trees of any sort, grass and hedges were early morning, late afternoon. Sometimes if the strip mall or shopping centers had parking lot lights, we'd trim palm trees at night, at least the sun wasn't cooking our brains and we didn't have to tape off customers' parking spots.
Lots of water, ice, sunscreen, wet rag on the back of your neck, and the occasional dunking your head in the ice chest as the ice melted.
Excellent money if you can tolerate the heat.

Wow. About 90 degrees here and about 50% humidity. Feels quite oppressive to me! (And I very much prefer hot temps to the cold of winter!)

The Mamas & The Papas ( I really, really, liked this group)

John Phillips, "Mama" Cass Elliot, Denny Doherty, and Michelle Phillips were collectively one of the most successful musical acts of all time - the electric folk-rock group The Mamas & The Papas. After relocating from New York to the West Coast in 1965 and releasing the No. 1 record "California Dreamin'" the following year, they produced a string of massively popular radio hits, including "Creeque Alley," "Monday, Monday," "Words of Love," "Dedicated to the One I Love," and "Go Where You Wanna Go." Their fans were diverse; the collegiate folk set loved their gentle, meticulous harmonies, and the burgeoning underground movement identified with their "sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll" ideal." Illustrated and cinematic in scope, Go Where You Wanna Go is told not only from the points of view of the group members (including Mama Cass, via an extensive, rare, never-before-published interview), but also from those of their friends, musical colleagues, business associates, critics, and fans. Roger McGuinn, David Crosby, Lou Adler, Donovan, Graham Nash, and Ray Manzarek are among the contributors who provided original interviews for this oral history.
Go Where You Wanna Go: The Oral History of the Mamas and the Papas by Matthew Greenwald

snipped for space

John Phillips did drugs with his thirteen year old daughter Mackenzie Phillips( the star of One Day at a Time. She was also in American Graffiti as the bratty kid), and she has claimed that she'd wake up with her panties around her ankles and her father sleeping beside her. She claimed on Oprah, that her father asked her if they could go live as man and wife and raise her siblings as their stepmother. Her book "High on Arrival" came out in September 2009. Just about the time Casey started claiming George molested her.

John Phillips had an affair with Michelle, and married her after he divorced his wife (mother of Mackenzie), and it seems Michelle slept around with several in their group, and Mama Cass would confront her and ask, "I don't get it. You can have any man you want. Why would you take mine?"

He wrote this for a former member of The Journeyman , Scott Mackenzie

To all of my sidebar friends, for those that pray please pray for my great grand niece Lily Ann. My sister just called and she's in the ER with a fractured skull and abrasions around her neck. She was with new daddy and the other great grandmother while little mama was at work all day. I told my sister this after noon that I wasn't comfortable with new daddy's mother. I didn't know why ,but I was uneasy because of two things last week after new daddy dropped Lily off with my sister and I. Which involved an ER visit. I'm trying not to be judgmental of her just because she gave up three of her children and the others (other than new daddy) have nothing to do with her.

Get out yer tissues.............got up to 112 there in Goodyear, might as well add a degree or 2 for Perryville.........Excessive heat warning over a lot of the State of Arizona...........

Oh, and the tissues are for when you finish laughing, imagining 281129 bundled up in 2 sweat shirts while trying to get the gophers to bundle up with her for body warmth.

Our little Lily is sedated and in a medically induced coma. She has a healing skull fracture, three broken ribs and a hole in her throat. CPS just took custody of her. LE told us to go home. They raided the apartment they share with new daddy's mother, and I don't know if they were looking for something with blood on it that would of cut her. My sister is a wreck. her daughter, the new grandmother, Loli, is so scared, and Pop (loli -pop) is our calm and reason. I went over to my sisters and her other children were there , along with grandchildren and cousins. Not doing much of anything, but just a comfort to be with family. Lily turned three months old today. Pop said she will be OK but it will take some time for her to heal. I think they're seeing an attorney in the morning and will file for managing conservators, so she came home with them, and not into a foster home. If that happens then my sister and I will be taking care of Lily for her. LE told Pop that someone is covering for the other, and they;re not sure a this point.

Last week new daddy brought Lily to us (instead of us going to pick her up) on his way to work.(He works nights, and picks up little mama at Loli's house around midnight, takes little mama to work and keeps her during the day before we get her. His mother is also there with new daddy, but little mama has mentioned that as soon as her son walks through the door she wants him to do things for her, not. Little mama has also (we get this through the grapevine) said she is not comfortable with the other grandmother being around Lily. They were also going to moving in at Loli-Pop, and don't know if something set her off.

Last week new daddy brought her to my sister and I and she was in a long sleeve footed sleeper. New daddy said she just had a bath and her hair was still damp. So we take her in the house and my sister changed her diaper and there was sticky stuff on the inside sleeve on her right arm, so we left her in just diaper for awhile. We had friends stop by and they held her and I fed her a bottle. While I was giving her her bottle, I looked down at her arm (she had one spot that looked like a blister that had been burst and was spreading) and she had another blister that popped up in the time she took her bottle, and it was spreading.

So little mama came in and she and my sister took off for the ER ( Loli and Pop were on a ten day cruise, Pop got a picture and text showing Lily's blisters, Loli was frantic out there in the gulf with five more days to get back to Houston) , and that the ER dr, said it was a chemical burn, they wrapped her whole arm in an ace bandage. So, little mama took Lily to her pedi the next morning, who said it was an allergic reaction to who knows what, and when Lily and I were playing pat a cake that afternoon, and I started This little piggy and two of her toes on her left foot looked weird. They hadn't the day before, so little mama took Lily to the dr, twice that week. On was being constipated, and she showed him Lily's toes. He said a string had wrapped it self around her toes. She hadn't been in anything that had feet that long the day before and I'd think the swelling would be more pronounced.

So do we have a person that doesn't want her son who she makes wait on her hand and foot ( she is totally disabled somehow, but can walk up three flights of stairs and weigh around three hundred pounds) to leave her, or maybe a person with Munchhausen by proxy?

Oh Bend..I am so sorry and am in tears for you and this precious baby. May God heal her and keep her safe. Babies are such gifts. The mind boggles at how some people don't care. (((hugs)))

ILikeToBendPages That poor baby. May God wrap his loving arms around her and hold her tight. Give her the healing she needs and be with her family members that love her and give them the strength that they will need in the coming days ahead.

I'm so sorry. I'm crying tears for the lovely innocent child. God Bless. How are YOU holding up? ((((HUGS))))

Little Lily is only three months old? This must be so devastating and scary for all of you. PRAYERS AND GOOD THOUGHTS coming your way. :candle: :candle: :candle:

I feel the same way as you do about her!! And I usually do not read anything about what she is doing, but this article was well written and was more about the injustice that was done here. She is flying high with the angels now and happy...no more harm can come her way.
