LOL Good one, my friend!!

Spellbound
Hey! That used to be displayed in the front window of our old-time hardware/department store for years and years. I wondered where it went.

I let my bra be used for displays

Well, I knew it wasn't mine. :giggle:

She is a little better today so far! YEAH

I let her read your posts yesterday, and I really think it helped. Hearing it from someone else besides me, made it all more real to her. Thank you for all you said :heartbeat:

Dmacky, I am honored you shared my posts. I have written 3 posts describing what life would have been like for your DD and deleted them all. I am shocked at how much resentment I still hold towards my MIL, who died last October. I need more therapy, obviously. I hate the thought of your DD having to put up with such a meddling, officious, critical, passive aggressive MIL. It just beats you down after a while.

Your DD was obviously too much competition for Dick's mom, and I hate that he could not be man enough to set boundaries. However, he grew up with this kind of mother and probably found it easier to do what she wanted rather than fight her on it. It would be hell to pay. I get that. It would be no life for your DD and hard to avoid, as his parents seem to live close by.

God Bless her and please tell her the pain will diminish in time and 20/20 clarity will come into view. Especially when she meets a man with healthy boundaries, holds her newborn in her arms, and is truly loved and appreciated by his family for her just being herself. Xo

Gosh, so much heartaches with us here. MIL called to say FIL (in hospice/nursing home) is going downhill fast, confused, begging to come home, not always aware someone is there). We will see him on Sunday, and get to Mom's to do a little yard work. Barely get through one crisis and here comes another.

Dmacky, I was able to get removed from the house deed when I divorced (Michigan, and it had a mortgage) by using a Quit Claim Deed. I think I even found the form online. If you are unsure, you can probably get a free consult with a lawyer to ask about it. Bernina made some great suggestions if you can't get out of the festivities ... Dodged a Bullet party, indeed. I liked that idea. On the other hand, if she can refinance, she may get a cheaper interest rate if the rates are still down. Look around ... it may not have to be with the same lender, either. Some banks here don't even charge a refinance fee if they are having specials.

Pages .... I just want to wrap my arms around all of you and tell you it will be all right. If only it were that easy. Just too much for a little baby to have to go through. Your Loli-pop are lifesavers in more ways than one. God grant them the strength and ability to take on this responsibility, and bless them for their kind hearts.

*sigh*
I hope CPS is on top of their game with Lily.
How much of new daddy's statements do you think are covering for new daddy's mom? Really sounds like she's trying to put all the blame on new daddy when you think most moms would be sticking up for their sons.

:gaah:

New daddy was just arrested. He'l be there for awhile, he has no money and in Texas if you can bond out you can pay for your own attorney . Little mama met with her attonery and has a court date on the 29th to get Lily back. She said she won't lose her baby over new daddy.

I just deleted my post as I was pissed that you all are going through this. I called my DH MD, who was on the golf course, who I didn't know was playing golf. I asked him about your concerns. This was what he said off the top of his head.

Skull fracture can occur in forceps delivery, if applicable, or from the MVC, or from someone dropping her on the floor. He asked me if Lily had ABO incompatibility, as in if new mama was Rh negative and new daddy was Rh positive, and new mama did not get Rhogam. That would be cause for her to receive a blood transfusion.

Regarding the port, perhaps Lily will need IV and Blood access and instead of sticking in a new IV catheter every two days, they have access that doesn't need to be changed as often. Babies are hard sticks so this sounds like a good idea to me.

DH MD said that fractured rib cartilage from back blows, assuming the fractures are in the back, were excessive for just choking on secretions. He could see them if Lily had swallowed a penny or foreign object and turned blue. Not for secretions. The tear in her esophagus was from someone being forceful with the bulb syringe, which he couldn't really see, since it is designed to be a blunt end/edges. That is questionable.

All in all, he said the MDs have to err on the side of caution, with all that Lily has sustained in her short 3 months. He said her weight was good and hopefully they can find either an underlying cause for her need for transfusion, other than his initial thought, or why her hematocrit is so low she needed transfusion.

She has blood in one lung, and intbated (auto correct, I'M starting to like, I can blame my spelling on it )
and we'very heard that to help her she was starting to struggle to breathe ?

She was taken to a Baylor hospital close to the apartment and when they tried to in tab ate her they couldn't because she was strangling oN the blood in her thoart. So they care flied her to the children's in Dallas instead of the one closer to all of us. Little mama and Loli-Pop saw her last night,,but they only see her once a week, but we have a court date to get custody back to little mama. I don't understand why they change back to itentental.

Lily was a big girl when she was born. 8'6 and she was delivered by c section. No problems with blood.

They said they have to keep her sedated because she restles, and moving around. My sister and I have never seen Lily restless , we always had a hard time waking her up until the last two weeks when she was brought to us.

The transfusion was as your dh said low hemoctirt

Tell your dh thanks for his opions. It helps us to try to work though this.

ps Is your husband an only child?my dh was and I hear you.

I am so heartbroken about all of this.........and angry and pissed off at the same time.

Children NEVER deserve this, so terribly wrong, URGH!!!!
I hope Little momma gets Lily back ASAP and Lily heals well and quickly.
I want to cry...............and string someone up at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is really weird, how did Lily get a fractured skull with a c-section?
A baby's skull is pretty dang pliable, and the soft spot helps the un-knitted pieces of bone just kind of float so you're literally NOT pushing out a solid "bowling ball".
I had an emergency c-sec after my daughter's head got stuck in an angle at my tail bone that had healed from a bad break in the shape of an "L". Tail bones are more like a "J" so babies just kind of slide out. I was in full blown labor from 8:00 am...no kid. By 12:00 noon, they took me to x-ray and saw where she was stuck. They let me go on for 9 freaking more hours, betting that my tail bone would break. And me and the baby went into distress, though I wouldn't of known it because I was delirious by that point. After they wheeled me into surgery (9:15pm), the doc was out in the waiting room cautioning my ex-dh and family that one or both of us might not make it out of surgery, meanwhile, I told the nurse I was going home and made it as far as the operating room doors...no one told me I or my daughter had a 50/50 shot and I didn't know this fun fact until some 20 years later.
But...........daughter was born with a cone head. Her skull took the shape of the angle in my tail bone. And since there were only 2 babies in the maternity ward, one being an Oriental boy, I stood there at the window with my IV drip stand in one hand, clutching my stomach so my guts wouldn't fall out, and told myself "you have got to be freakin' kidding me" and staggered back to my room.
During the 5 days I was there, her head went back to normal and she was the darling of the ward, the "oh, what a beautiful baby", "well, you know she was a c-section" kind of stuff you hear from the mothers, who delivered later, and the maternity nurses. I just wanted to punch them out because this was no spinal block/epidural, "come in on the 2nd and have a c-section", no labor kind of birth.

My point is............I've never heard of a baby's skull being fractured through normal delivery or a c-section. Heck, my son was 8 lbs 8 oz. and he BROKE that angle in my tail bone when I pushed him out 6 years later, and his skull was fine. And I'm little! 5'1. I had 4th degree tears AFTER they gave me an episiotomy. Seriously, it looked like that Alien creature head from the movie had blown out through my nether regions. I kid you not.

Are they saying she possibly punctured a lung because of the broken ribs?

Damn, that little girl is going through so much!!!!!:tears:

Boy oh boy, do I hear you Bernina, and I am also feeling every emotion you have. I, too, wondered how a skull fracture might happen in a c-section. I hate that little Lily has had so many "accidents" in three short months. To actually arrest the father (not his mother?!?) is another puzzle. Do they suspect he has done all the damages, or do they think his mother contributed? If both might be involved, then I expect another arrest. And I hope the book gets thrown at them and then they get forgotten behind a locked cell door.

(And I thought my feet-first breech nearly 9-lb. boy was rough.... you and daughter were so lucky. Though it sure didn't feel like it when you were giving birth.... to either of those kids!).

I tried to read through everything, but am still confused. Was it addressed that with a "head transplant" you'd have someone else's brain? If so, you wouldn't even be yourself anymore... (right ?)

I don't know if I'm just not understanding or if this is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard of...
I would think of it more as a body transplant and the head will be the original person. How scary. Imagine being 5 ft. and petite and then turning into a 6ft. tall with man hands?

It was all the pushing and no progress that made the c section necessary.. They kept telling little mama to push when she was a ten and she kept telling them she was. Her head was down but not going anywhere, so that is reasonable. I'm not sure about the ribs other than cracked, and don't know if there were on the back or front (as Zuri dh md mentioned) so I don't know. She's had x rays, cat scans and mri's in the last five days so I don't understand blood in her lungs today.

New daddy has been charged with criminal intent - not sure what all that entails. When I was at my three months blood letting, the nurse asked me if I was under stress when she was taking my blood pressure (it was a little high, but nothing like a few months ago), and I told her about Lily, and said she had been a bailiff in the courts up Denton and she looked for him at their site, but there were no records under his name. I wasn't sure about his mothers name.

My oldest sister (great grandmother) called a while ago and asked me what I thought of our father. As in how he was to others than us. I told her he was very charming and outgoing ( his money went to "friends at the bar instead of us) and people seemed to like him.. I told her that men beat their wives back than and now a days and they put on a happy face for the public. It made me remember my mother telling me about picking up a gun an aiming it at him and pulling the trigger, but no bullets. I have a flood of emotions just thinking of that.

Sounds like the fractured rib cartilage may have popped her lung lobe, and she was bleeding from that maybe? They can suction secretions while intubating and also give drugs that facilitate intubation. Now I wonder if she had so much sub mucosal swelling, they couldn't visualize her vocal cords to intubate.

Wow. Just wow. WTH did new daddy do? Does Lily have a chest tube? How is her breathing now? They may be sedating her so she doesn't pull out her ET tube if she has one, and also she may have cracked ribs so badly they flail. OMG.

So glad she has you and your sister as her advocates. God Bless you all.

My DH is the younger of two boys, 2 years apart. He looks exactly like my MIL. The oldest son chose to fail rather than endure her criticism, my DH chose to succeed, by becoming a successful physician. My BIL is a pastor in his church, works as the grounds/janitorial superintendent for a school district and that sure didn't measure up in her eyes. My DH could do no wrong; my BIL not so much.

I feel kinda badly for my DH now as he doesn't have anyone thinking he is perfect lol. He always used to say, just ask my mother, she will tell you how perfect I am and lol. He can always count on me to be real though :)

Jumping off your post:
The cranial sutures are so soft and pliable which is how they can get down the birth canal. DH said forceps delivery can cause a hairline fx which is what we were wondering when the MDs told little mama that could be the cause, or the MVC.

I just can't get over that you all are going through all this. DH asked about you and Lily when he came home from golf, so it was obviously on his mind and affecting him too.

(And I thought my feet-first breech nearly 9-lb. boy was rough.... you and daughter were so lucky. Though it sure didn't feel like it when you were giving birth.... to either of those kids!).

I feel terrible. I had very short labors. Anna was under two hours, and my son was exactly four hours start to finish and he was almost nine pounds and I was up and walking two hours later. . My sister had three nine pounders and short labors under four hours, and her last daughter was a little six pounds and took over twelve hours.

Our mother had us (all six pounders) in very short labors. When my sister had first her son they were having trouble stopping major blood loss, the next step was going to be a hysterectomy, and when Loli had her son he was not face down and it took several more hours before he was delivered,. And his head looked like Marge Simpson's. A cone head. Loli also had trouble after and they were having a hard time stopping her bleeding. Her OB came out and told my sister and that the next step to save her was a hysterectomy too. Sixteen pregnant - sick as a dog throwing up , blood pressure soaring I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Little mama would be in court as the main witness when her baby daddy was on trial for killing his mother two months later. He made her go with him to "find" his mother. She said he "called" his mother and said someone took the phone from her and hung up. He needed to go check on her, someone may of hurt her. The woman had been dead over twenty four hours by then.

When they drove up at her house LE was already there and put her in a patrol car, but handcuffed her psycho baby daddy and took to him jail. She kept trying to explain the items they were bringing out of the house and putting in an evidence van to us. One she couldn't figure out, but at trial it turned out to be a door frame with blood splatter all over it. The woman had been dead over twenty four hours by then. We wondered if he had plans to kill little pregnant mama when they got there. Her son is very much like his father even though he doesn't know anything about him. The way he talks, his mannerism, his BS sounds just like him. My sister and I laugh (he always ask why) when he's making anything with cheese and adds more cheese. His father hated cheese.

IIRC our princess had nine pounders too.

I miss Breaking Bad.

Most I found had to do with newborns, but I did find this

Haemothorax is a collection of blood in the pleural space and may be caused by blunt or penetrating trauma. Most haemothoraces are the result of rib fractures, lung parenchymal and minor venous injuries, and as such are self-limiting. Less commonly there is an arterial injury, which is more likely to require surgical repair.

So if he was pounding on her back and cracking ribs this could happen?

I also have two friend that have two sons two years apart and they have a better attachment to their younger son than their first born child.

Me Too. And, I watch Better Call Saul these days wishing it was Breaking Bad. Walter White was a guy I could love and hate at same time.

They say Walter White may appear in Better Call Saul, but to not expect him in season two. Jesse and others may make an appearance too.

I had seen the first Better Call Saul and was stunned and happy to see Tuco drag Saul in the house. I told dh he had to see this and he laughed his butt off, We were both happy to see old faces.

I feel that same about Walter White. I feel sorry for him, but he's making and selling death to thousands of people. How would he feel (and I expected it to happen) if he found Walt jr. doing the blue? In one article it says Walter broke bad to get back at the millions he lost from selling his half in Grey Matter.
