Nope................
They did go over his degenerative lower spine issue with him yesterday. 5 vertebra are messed up. So I asked him "What are they going to do?" He said they didn't say.:gaah: So what good is the motorcycle and the quad that have been just objects de art, with scattered parts here and there? Are they going to fuse the vertebra? Or what? It causes pain down his legs.
Then there's the bone spur in his left shoulder socket. He and they say it's from lifting bombs up onto the hangers on the planes in Viet Nam.........Ok, dummies, he's right handed and has always thrown stuff on his right shoulder, ran that by my BF and he's all "oh, yah, that's right." They want to shave it off. The spur that is. I always heard they grow back, going to have to research that.
That nurse SHOULD call me back because I am his emergency contact and he did sign the authorization to give me medical info on him.
The cell phone has yet to turn up..................

Hound that nurse- call her again... and again, if necessary!!!! :stormingmad:..(at least that's what I would do and I have done that when it came to my son's
medical thingys- I became a pain-in-the-azz to her.:croc:.. I didn't care- that's what she is there for!).

Anyway- good luck my dear. I know how hard all this is for you and wish it could be easier..

1969 - Eric Clapton puts 100 of his guitars up for auction at Christie's in New York City to raise money for his drug rehab clinic, the Crossroads Centre in Antigua. His 1956 Fender Stratocaster named Brownie, which was used to record the electric version of ‘Layla’, sold for a record $497,500. The auction helped raise nearly $5 million for the clinic.

I feel sorry of him. He's lost many friends. He was good friends with Jimi Hendrix and was supposed to meet him on the night of Hendrix’ death at a Sly and the Family Stone concert. Clapton had bought him a guitar which was made for a lefty (Hendrix usually just played right handed guitars upside down).

He was also supposedly one of the last people to see another of his good friends and famed guitarists, Duane Allman, before he died in a motorcycle crash in 1971 after swerving to avoid a truck and having his Harley land on top of him, crushing some of his internal organs.

Clapton was also among the last people ever to be with Stevie Ray Vaughan. On the night of Vaughan’s untimely death in 1990, Vaughan and his band had opened for Eric Clapton at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre.

And most importantly losing his son, Coner Clapton his only son, whom he was on his way to see.

IDIOT SIGHTING.
My daughter and I went through the McDonald's driveway window and I gave the cashier a $5 bill.
Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her 25c.
She said, 'you gave me too much money.'
I said, 'Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar coin back.'
She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request.
I did so, and he handed me back the 25c, and said 'We're sorry but we don’t do that kind of thing.'
The cashier then proceeded to give me back 75 cents in change.
Do not confuse the people at MacD's.

We had to have the garage door repaired.
The repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener.
I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, 'You need a 1/4 horsepower.'
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and he said, 'NOOO, it's not. Four is larger than two.'
We haven't used that repairman since...

I live in a semi rural area.
We recently had a new neighbor call the local city council office to request the removal of the DEAR CROSSING sign on our road.
The reason: 'Too many dears are being hit by cars out here! I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.'
IDIOT SIGHTING IN FOOD SERVICE.
My daughter went to a Mexican fastfood and ordered a taco.
She asked the person behind the counter for 'minimal lettuce.'
He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.
IDIOT SIGHTING.
I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked,
'Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?'
To which I replied, 'If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?'
He smiled knowingly and nodded, 'That's why we ask.'
IDIOT SIGHTING.
The pedestrian light on the corner beeps when it's safe to cross the street.
I was crossing with an 'intellectually challenged' co-worker of mine.
She asked if I knew what the beeper was for.
I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, 'what on earth are blind people doing driving?!'
She is a government employee.....
IDIOT SIGHTING.
When my husband and I arrived at a car dealership to pick up our car after a service, we were told the keys had been locked in it.
We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver’s side door.
As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked.
‘Hey,' I announced to the technician, 'its open!'
His reply, 'I know. I already did that side.'
STAY ALERT!

A beam of light would take about 100,000 years to cross the Milky Way from one side to the other.
All of the stars comprising the Milky Way galaxy revolve around the centre of the galaxy once every 200 million years or so.

The centre of the Milky Way is about 25,000 light years away from us.
The Milky Way is sometimes described as looking like two fried eggs back to back.
The Milky Way slowly spins as it moves through space like a giant cartwheel.

Does Jodi have access to media? If so, she is probably following the NY prison break and noting details so she can try to do something similar. I wouldn't put it past her to trade "favors" for tools, sell her artwork, etc. so she can plot her way out of Perryville. :moo:

Attorneys for Colorado gunman to open defense case Thursday

"DENVER — Attorneys for James Holmes will open their case Thursday, offering a less emotional and more clinical assessment of the Colorado theater shooter after two months of often-gruesome testimony from prosecution witnesses who included many visibly wounded survivors.
Without the scores of victims on their side, Holmes' defense team plans to present its evidence in less than a quarter of the time taken by prosecutors. Their goal is not only to keep the gunman out of prison but also to keep him alive.
The attorneys have said their case will focus tightly on mental illness in a bid to prove to jurors that Holmes was legally insane when he opened fire on a packed movie premiere in 2012, killing 12 people and wounding 70. Even if Holmes' team is unsuccessful, legal experts say, the coming days may be the attorneys best chance to convince jurors that he should not be executed if he is convicted...."

This is a book that I pull out to read every so often. Good book:

Holocaust Memoir ‘Man’s Search For Meaning’ Heading To Screen

"...Frankl, a psychotherapist and contemporary of Sigmund Freud, developed his skills in an impossible setting. He was among those sent to the concentration camps by the Nazis, and he used his therapeutic skills to inspire prisoners to fight for their survival by finding meaning in their suffering. Once he was liberated, Frankl then used his experiences in the camps as the basis for what became a pioneering form of therapy he called Logotherapy, or healing through meaning...."

This Man Faced Unimaginable Suffering, And Then Wrote The Definitive Book About Happiness

"...“Those who have a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how,'” Frankl writes, quoting Nietzsche. Frankl wasn't just paying lip service to the power of optimism and a sense of purpose: He himself had experienced the worst possible how, living through Auschwitz and losing his father, mother, brother and pregnant wife -- everyone in his family except his sister -- in the concentration camps...."

About the book:

Man's Search for Meaning Mass Market Paperback – June 1, 2006
by Viktor E. Frankl

"Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl's memoir has riveted generations of readers with its descriptions of life in Nazi death camps and its lessons for spiritual survival. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of others he treated later in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose. Frankl's theory-known as logotherapy, from the Greek word logos ("meaning")-holds that our primary drive in life is not pleasure, as Freud maintained, but the discovery and pursuit of what we personally find meaningful...."

Bill would ban e-cigs indoors :sheesh:

"ALBANY - The fate of a bill banning electronic cigarettes in public, indoor spaces rests with the state Senate.
The state Assembly on Thursday voted 85-58 to approve the measure, which would make the small, battery-powered vaporizers subject to the same indoor restrictions on traditional cigarettes. The bill now heads to the Senate, where it is awaiting a vote as lawmakers vow to return to the Capitol next week..."

"Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Electronic cigarettes may soon fall under the Clean Indoor Air Act in New York, which would make it illegal for people to use them in all the same places as regular tobacco cigarettes.
The New York State Assembly passed legislation last week that added E-Cigarettes to the Clean Indoor Air Act. The bill is now currently on the floor of the State Senate, waiting to be reviewed. It could be reviewed and voted on as early as Wednesday.

What Hospice Care Means for Bobbi Kristina Brown

"...In hospice care, a team of caregivers -- which generally includes a mix of physicians, nurses, grief counselors, clergy and volunteers -- work together to provide end-of-life services and keep the patient comfortable as the body shuts down.
It doesn’t hasten your death -- or prolong your death," explained Jon Radulovic, spokesperson for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. "The body is following its natural path, but hospice is there to make it more comfortable."..."

Would you take your four children to the pool if they and you could not swim? I'm sure it's going to be the apartments fault.

A 10-year-old girl drowned and her 9- and 11-year-old brothers were in intensive care after they were pulled from a murky swimming pool at an Irving apartment complex Wednesday, police said.

The girl was identified Thursday as August Smith, according to an Irving police spokesman. Her brothers remained at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

Police said the children's mother was in the shallow end of the pool with a 3-year-old child and didn’t notice the older children go underwater. Unable to swim, she began screaming for help.

A maintenance man dived in to pull two of the children from the pool about 3:45 p.m. at the MacArthur Place at 183 complex in the 2300 block of North MacArthur Boulevard.

A police officer was performing CPR on one of those children for about a minute before the mother yelled that a third child was still in the pool, police spokesman James McLellan said.

Fire personnel jumped in to rescue the third child, assistant fire chief Rusty Wilson said.

Officials described a chaotic scene with police and fire personnel attempting CPR on all three children.

“This is an extremely difficult call,” Wilson said.

When the mother noticed that she no longer heard the older children playing behind her, she put the 3-year-old down and turned around to try to find them, McLellan said.

“Visibility conditions of that pool were not good at all,” Wilson said, noting that rescuers had a hard time determining how many children were in the pool. “At the deep end of the swimming pool we could not see the bottom. The third child could not be seen.”

Employees at the apartment complex could not be reached for comment.

Police are investigating whether charges might be filed against the mother, whose name was not released. But they believe the incident was an accident.

“This is a tragic situation, regardless of how it transpired,” McLellan said.

There was no one else swimming at the time the children went underwater. Neighbors reported hearing laughter coming from the pool before the tragedy.

Twelve-year-old Danny Sotero said visibility in the pool is usually good, but not on Wednesday.

If he had known something was wrong, he said, “I would have jumped in.”

Police cordoned off the pool as investigators took water samples. A life preserver lay on the ground and three pairs of children’s shoes sat near a table. A “pool closed” sign was tacked onto the fence.
