Our Lilybug, she was to have her ears pierced this past weekend. I bought her first diamonds, and her mama's and Loli's too.

She is two and a half months old in this photo. Two weeks later and she'd be in ICU.

She's just a beautiful little baby! And I seriously mean that, there's babies that look like Elmore Fudd, and then there's babies that are just so precious looking you almost want to get pregnant <---- I never got THAT nutty but you kids know what I mean.

On her neck as in spine????? OMG, the thought is horrifying. She may have had fractured cervical or thoracic vertebrae? that required fusion? I have to research this as I have never thought about what they do with infants and spinal injuries, if indeed that is what happened.

We're not sure, but the plan for right now is Lily is coming home with Loli-Pop on Thursday.

My other niece, Loli's sister, was where little mama was going to stay with, and she would go to Loli's and take care of Lily, but CPS says that if little mama is with her aunt, then her aunt can't take care of Lily. So little mama is going to stay with her other grandmother (just four blocks from my sisters) until she's had parenting classes and a CPR course for infants, and they'll check on Lily in forty five days, and hopefully little mama gets her baby back and she can go back home. We'll find out more, and Loli-Pop, as her guardians, will have access to her medical records, and I can tell you what all they did.

I really appreciate your time and expertise, and if you don't mind helping us to understand what treatment Lily had. I keep going back to the first night and the healing skull fracture ( you can see Lily has a big head, and it may of happened during pushing, hence a c-section) three fractured ribs and a hole in her throat, and thinking what the dr. did was reasonable in treating her, and the endoscopic the next day and the tears were OK and didn't need repairing, to Thursday someone hurt her intentionally ramming something down her throat because of the depth of the tears, and new daddy was arrested, to this week Lily had surgery on her neck. So she'd had a feeding tube that's been removed. A port in her neck, that shouldn't take a repair of two inches? and a picc line in her leg.

Lily's CPS attorney met with Loli-Pop last night and said that little mama is broken and down as far as she can go, that she's been away from her baby and going though all of this and they'd like to see her going to a psychologist to help her work through this and get her baby back.

My sister is past drained. She's been shuttling her brother in law back and forth to his dr. getting him ready for a total laryngectomy for stage three throat cancer the last two months, and him having it done in the next two week.

Naw, Lily doesn't have a big head... babies have heads that are a larger in proportion to their bodies, she looks perfect!
Without using forceps, I just don't under stand the skull fracture during the labor/c-section.
This is a newborn's skull:

The plates haven't knitted together so the head can pass through the birth canal as a semi pliable shape.
I'd be real curious as to the OB's reason for the fracture. It's pretty puzzling for me.

The skull fracture "could" of happened during all the pushing before the c section. Little mama pushed for over three hours and Lily was showing signs of distress, hence (twice in one day.) the c section.

She a more round head at the top.

Pages, I can't get over how beautiful she is!!!!!
I hope she recovers well.
Gawd, this makes me so angry.
And just so you know, there are some real a-holes working for CPS. Most are really wonderful people who care about the children and their families. Others just have a major chip on their shoulders and leave everyone in the dark.
You might tell little mama to record any conversations she has with the CPS person. Conflicting info from the hospital and CPS person is a major red flag. Consistency and everyone being on the same page is protocol. If it isn't, someone has dropped the ball. Words like "Abandoned" by the hospital staff are very disturbing.
CYA time, Pages, CYA.

Pages...It just seems like each passing day, something else is found wrong with Lily! WTH happened to her? I pray you get answers sooner than later! And, IMO keeping her family away from her is so wrong! Have you heard anymore about the daddy, is he still in jail?

No need answer if this is out of line...I totally understand.

Pages, I have been googling. Lily may have sustained an injury to her trachea/pharynx that also affected her cervical spine and carotid artery. They typically wait to see if the neurological signs diminish and it heals on its own. If the neuro signs don't go away, they will operate. The article I read said that it can take days for the signs and symptoms to show up. I am guessing here big time. I am just so sorry.

That does sound reasonable, and the surgery could of happened after Loli-Pop saw her Thursday a week ago, since no one was giving us any information.

I don't want to sound dumb, but I guess we were thinking soft tissues in her throat and not damage to anything else. I keep trying to visual and figured out how far down something was rammed, and how big or long it would have to be.

The first information the day after Lily got hurt was an unintentional accident done in panic. That the suction bulb hit once in one spot then three more times in the same spot to cause the tears. If they did the surgery after Loli-Pop left that may of been the reason they arrested new daddy on Friday.

I went back and looked the date of the offense and the day the DA issued the warrant. The offense is dated as June 19th which was last Friday and he was arrested the next day the 20th. So someone is pegging something to happening last Friday, not Monday the 15th when something happened to her.

I have too much Websleuths going in my head. The when where what and how it happened, we know the who.

Pages, if CPS has prevented you all from seeing Lily, do they have a problem with you all calling to check on her condition or speaking with her physicians? I should think not, but then again, I don't know, since COS is involved. There should be a social worker on staff that can help you. I would call the nurse's desk and ask to speak to Lily's nurse and ask these questions. IMO. Xo

They are the ones telling us that no one could see Lily. When little mama called to check on her after the endoscopy they told her none of us could see her or check on her condition, so no one pushed it by just showing up and the nurses letting us see her. We didn't want to make anything worse and was letting little mama's attorney handle things and CPS was stalling him. Many of the social workers in Texas are poorly trained and over worked. You don't have to have a degree, they just give you some training and your on your on. Some let it go to their heads, and play God.

2015 - Skywatchers will get a special treat over the next few days.

For eight straight nights beginning Saturday, the two brightest planets — Jupiter and Venus — will be very close to each other in the evening sky, close enough to cover both with the thumb of your outstretched hand, according to Sky & Telescope.

The planets will be visible at twilight in the western sky, weather permitting.

Tuesday will be the best view, as the two planets will appear so close together that they'll look like a tight, brilliant double star in the evening sky, Sky & Telescope said.

Conjunctions are rare events where two or more objects appear extremely close together in the night sky, NASA said.

I am not trying to take away from other peoples troubles and heartache on here, but...be one bad night!

I am a strong women and I try my best at being a good person and do what I right. My son Ryan called around 12:30 am this morning and I have been up since. He was crying, begging me help him. That he is sorry he is drunk and that he loves me. We talked for a long bit, or rather I listened to his rambling on in a drunken state. Not the first time this has happened, nor will be the last. Been reflecting that I had my loving son back for 2 years; in a blink of an eye, he is gone! I have cried, stomped the floor, prayed, asked God why. I am broken this morning. I hurt so bad and can't turn my mind off and move on. I am so tired of it all. I am just one person, a Mother who is hurting, who only wants the best for her children. I usually can handle his outburst, but for some reason...this is different (don't know why) and I don't know what I can do, make me stronger.

Please say a little prayer for me (or send good thoughts my way), so I can move pass this and be strong again... handle the next round of a crazy, hurtful, rip your heart out, viscous life of being the Mother of an Alcoholic.

Thank You and God Bless.
