Just looked it up and there are 8 harbor blue shades. Do you remember which one?

How cool, using spaghetti to test if cake is done. Sounds better than using a knife, makes a smaller hole, LOL. :)
Thanks for the tips, CJ

I've also used toothpicks to test a cake.

Coffee, your peach cobbler recipe looks wonderfull. My sister loves peach cobbler and I think she'l love this one. My favorite is always cherry.

Yeah, but only because it was the only way DH was going to accept purple- I found a periwinkle shade- the most purplest blue I could find. It was a sample I saw at Walmart and had Home Depot color match it. Don't remember the brand, but my bedroom kinda looks like a French hotel, very relaxing, and 180 degrees opposite of the granny pink wallpaper that we moved in with! Now if we could only decide on a shade of green for our den. I'm liking a foresty look, he's afraid it will be too dark.
I've tried several different ways and WS isn't letting me upload the pictures, either from my laptop, from Photobucket, Pinterest, or Facebook. Sorry! If I could do it I would.
My bedroom would be closest to Benjamin Moore's Freesia or Blue Pearl I think. We did the Crown Moulding a shade darker, so it looks two-toned and goes together!

I think Guilford Green from Benjamin Moore is a beautiful color:

Thanks for the multitude of advice on my different scenarios.

The River House: Worth $1.2M; built in the 30's; owned equally by both sons now and both sons are responsible for utilities, upkeep, taxes etc. My DH is off 4 days a month so we rarely go down as I find it boring lol. I prefer the beach and the river house is in a lovely remote area with no wifi or cable... Now when he gets his boat after I get the countertops ;) then maybe. My MIL talked to both me and DH before she died and said this "takeover" was going to happen and DH needed to speak up. She asked me to make sure his voice was heard (because I am loud?). When I went this past weekend, I made sure that things were cleaned up as I still think of it as my MIL's home and want to give it the respect that it deserves.

The property has a vaulted garage that has an apartment with 3 bedrooms and a bath for guests. Apparently, my DH and his brother decided to replace the steep staircase and build one that is monstrous with landings. They did not pour footers and were using above ground footers? And a building inspector happened to drive by and shut the project down. He said they needed a building permit and to submit plans. OMG. So the access to the garage apartment is limited to a metal ladder type staircase for the time being. OMG I took one look at that unfinished thing and just about died. My MIL would be having a fit. The real reason for building the monster staircase is so my SIL can have her golf cart parked there... SMH.

Unlike my SIL, I have no plans to interject myself unless it affects my DH. She wanted to rip out all the flowering shrubs and flowers that my MIL had planted along the driveway that are beautiful because they are too much work. I told her she needed to ask DH about that first and that kinda shocked her back into reality. The house is not hers...

Today is Wednesday, July 8, the 189th day of 2015. There are 176 days left in the year.

1776 - Colonel John Nixon gave the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence to a crowd gathered at Independence Square in Philadelphia.

This would be funny if it weren't so awful. It seems like there should be a democratic process put in place. Since it's just the four of you, tie goes to... not proceeding on things which can't be agreed upon. Which in turn would mean coming up with an alternate plan. It's called compromise negotiation.

Having been through a similar scenario when I was younger, I can now see how not asserting my rights (even just verbally) led to a total loss of power and control regarding things I was rightfully due. I ended up walking away out of sheer frustration. They quite simply wore me down. In hindsight, I regret being so weak-willed. If I had it to over again, I would have stood my ground from the beginning. There's no shame in being a squeaky wheel when you have every right to be heard, and something to lose by not being heard.

1965 - The Dave Clark Five's first movie, Having A Wild Weekend, opens in London. (For American audiences, it's entitled Catch Us If You Can, after their hit of the same name.)

Did any of you watch Dr. Drew tonight .... the mother from Indonesia bathing her young infant by holding the arms and swishing the baby in a large bucket, round and around. While baby is crying she continues this. Catch the rerun later tonight during the last 3 minutes of the show. It was on FB but was taken down and the police or other are investigating. Just horrible!

Daisymae, was it this one, supposedly being dunked as a form of "yoga"? It looks cruel, and such a tiny baby.

It looks as though the adult has done this before , many times and it is a cultural thing. No harm seemed to come to the baby.

I have seen mustard patches to cupping on children with varying results because the parents were taught those procedures in their country. Was it because the baby was crying a lot? That upset people?

It may be a cultural thing in other countries, but that's a newborn baby, and I think many cringe thinking of what that poor baby is feeling. And I wonder if one or both of it's arms can be dis located? Gesh lay that baby down, grab a washrag and soap and give it a nice bath.

Sorry Zuri, Lily came home yesterday so I'm still kinda emotional.

Cultural or not ... she could have lost her grip and the baby falls into the water inhaling water, or went flying on the floor and was injured.
