CJ and Dmacky, my question was in response to Pages' post on a case I have not followed. See the bolded part above. I have never heard about it before, but I did a search and it is some form of marijuana I think. Called wax because it looks just like ear wax! Gross.... and it is more powerful and can cause hallucinations!

ETA: GigiG, your post was not there when I started my reply, but that is the same page I searched earlier. Nasty looking stuff!

It's a more concentrated form of pot. It's like hash oil, but looks like ear wax and I guess you smoke it in a pipe or just eat it? It's suppose to really mess with your head. Ember's daddy posted online that he was going to start making it.

Hope everyone is doing well and stays safe in these violent storms. From the news, the skies look ominous.

I finished the KonMari Method tidying book. It actually had some very helpful tidbits and her approach makes a lot of sense. She has some great points:

Discard first
Find a storage spot for every item, not using the junk drawer method.
Don't tidy one room at a time, tidy all at once.
Have respect for every item you own as you worked for the money to buy it.
Do not pile anything up.
Use vertical storage, folding clothes in a rectangle.

I have figured out why I have so much clutter and now know how to address it as I have identified the cause. This was huge. She says it takes about 6 months to discard and tidy and that is in a Japanese home, which may be 4 rooms or so. Well I have a few more than 4 rooms, so I figure it will take me a year lol.

BBM You gotta have at least 1 junk drawer, IMO. Get rid of my junk drawer!!! :gaah: is nothing sacred???? :scared: I love my junk drawer. :heartbeat:
IMO a junk drawer is as essential to a kitchen- very practical and time-sparing.

I have a neat and basically organized kitchen, but I do have a junk drawer which contains all the miscellaneous stuff that doesn't fit elsewhere- various twist ties, straight razor blades - you know, for scrapping gunk off of things, rubber bands of various sizes, misc pens (probably some with dried ink), glue stick, scotch tape, matches, plastic cat food covers, those rubber thingys that help you twist-off stubborn covers from jars, assorted-size twine (never know when you'll need a little piece of twine), long/short skewers (for shish-kabob), phone charger, binder clips, box cutter, a few hospital bands (that they stick on your wrist for ID), Chapstick, some small batteries, tacks, and other odd bits of indeterminate origin which I'm afraid to throw away because I might actually determine the origin and find that I need it.

Darlie's own attorney Doug Muldar did't introduce the video. He just used it trying to make LE the bad guys. There is a lot of miss information from the poor Darlie is innocent site. If Darin did kill the boys, why has Darlie been a suffering saint all these years? When she could be out taking care of her remaining son, Drake? No, Darlie is right where she belongs . There was one male juror that said he never saw the photos of the brushing on Darlie arm, and if he had he would of voted differently. The photos were introduced and the jury saw them, I guess he wasn't paying attention that day..

BBM I agree with you ILike. :)

Y'all are in the Ohio Valley. We don't have storms all this week, and haven't hit the hundred mark yet. Many times they hit Oklahoma and Texas before heading up y'all's way. We're in the Red River Valley.

Six states make up the Ohio Valley: Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

Curiosity question: Has anyone here continued with their subscription to Beth Karas site (KarasOnCrime)? Do you still find it worth the monthly fee? I only iAd it for a few months. I thought it was very good, but I was still able to keep up nicely without having to pay. Just wondering how it is going since JA trial had ended. What is she covering now...

thanks!

So a year, huh? Well I was pretty close, lol. It is encouraging to hear I'm not completely crazy. Thank You, Zuri! Am looking forward to getting the book.

That's what I've read as well, that there was only one juror who claimed not to have seen those photos. Thanks BP. And I think you're right, she needs to stay in prison. I would be just as happy though if in her case it was commuted to LWOP. But I'm not a huge death penalty supporter either.

Just an aside, what mother and wife would desire such huge breast implants? That in itself isn't normal, IMO. But shouldn't be used to determine her guilt or innocence either, which it wasn't IMO.

I like this song that he sings: (I don't think he screams)

Oh, he's the Aerosmith guy? LOL, I've been wondering, just didn't bother to google. The only thing I know about that band , is they play their music at the Rock'n Roller Coaster at Disney World. That ride is the bomb !!! :happydance::happydance::happydance:

  • #369
This is the song from the ride, Walk This Way. I like it, :D ETA: Just to add, I don't sit around listening to hard rock like this, but it is perfect for that ride. LOL

If it makes you feel any better YorN, I have a couple of junk drawers. But we do have too much junk, and that's one of my goals, to just have one, at least one in the kitchen and one in the mud room. Unfortunately I have little control over my hubby's junk, somewhat of a sore point though, so I won't linger on it. :/

I will one up you. I have a whole house of junk drawers. If you all weren't in a risky tornado zone, I would be praying for one here in Delaware. I figured I would just open the windows and voila!! Tornadoes are deadly serious, so please don't take offense at my humor....

Okay, I'm creeped out. I was reading the Denise Huskins kidnapping thread and found out that the guy they busted was responsible for a home invasion robbery in my area just one month ago and he assaulted the couple. I was broken into in May. Wondering if it was this creep? Glad we weren't home.

Good Morning

We dodged the 'bullet' the storms turned west before they came down this far. Very thankful for that. Read this am that this storm was 700 miles long!!! That's a monster...

What a very rare kitty indeed! Meet Scrappy! He was born a black cat. But over the years, his beautiful black fur started to develop white blotches caused by Vitiligo (yes, the same thing Michael Jackson had.) Scrappy is now a healthy 17 years young, and he has become one of the most GORgeous kitty cats i've ever seen!

Health Benefits of Baking Soda, Baking Soda Health Uses

Baking soda is a common ingredient in many food recipes. But baking soda can be used for many other things as well. Baking soda is a sodium bicarbonate which maintains the pH equilibrium and neutralizes both acids and bases. It is one of the greatest natural solutions for cleaning, deodorizing, preparation, and healthcare purposes. The innumerable health benefits of baking soda are as follows:

Treating sinus infection
Use a dash of salt and a dash of soda in 1 tablespoon of water. Snort at night when you have the problem. If allergies are constant snort every night. This may be hard in the beginning but after a week, infections go down drastically and no more sinus breath due to infection.

Treating urinary tract infection and kidney problems
Baking Soda is a powerful anti-fungal and is often used in medical facilities to treat urinary tract (fungal) infections, which include infection of the kidney, ureters, bladder or urethra. When first signs of UTI appear, a mixture of 1/2 tsp baking soda in eight ounce glass of water can be very helpful. The presence of baking soda in the body regulates the acid-base balance of the acidic urine.

Natural mouth wash
Make a homemade rinse using part salt, baking soda, and water and gargling with this will bring an instant fix with even the worst bad breath.

Shining Teeth
Baking soda is a natural teeth whitener. Add baking soda to your toothpaste and brush your teeth. This will give you shining teeth. You can also just wet your toothbrush, dip it in soda and brush your teeth with it.

Treating upset stomach and heartburn
Mix one half teaspoon in three oz water and drink the solution. Because baking soda may neutralize excess stomach acid, it can be used to treat sour stomach, heart burn, and acid indigestion. But please bear in mind that baking soda is to be used as a short-term relief method and can be harmful if used for wrong reasons or in higher amounts.

Treating skin irritations
For skin irritations a warm bath with baking soda is very effective in soothing the skin. For acne, gentle scrubbing with baking soda can help the skin shed dead surface cells that can clog pores and lead to acne. For bee stings, make a paste with baking soda and water and apply on the affected area for few minutes. This will bring comfort and relief.

Handy Tips
1. Make a solution of baking soda mixed with water and keep it handy.
2. When eye hurts, use the solution with water as eye drops.
3. The solution can be used as earwax remover.
4. For heat rash, spray the solution on the rash.
5. A mouth rinse with baking soda solution helps in relieving the pain from tooth cavity.

Important Warning!
Do not use baking soda which has had aluminum added to it, such as Arm and Hammer. Buy a product which specifically states it does not include aluminum or other chemicals.

Cleaning Gold Jewerly

Gold jewelry never goes out of fashion. Gold jewelry is something which you can wear everyday. Pure gold is extremely soft, doesn't react with other elements and hence doesnot tarnish. But to make your gold jewelry sturdy enough, other metals are mixed with it, creating an alloy, which tarnish your jewelry. But while it sits on your finger or around your neck looking beautiful, your jewelry is secretly collecting oils from your skin, dirt, toxins from the air, residue from soaps and body lotions and overtime these affect the appearance of your gold jewelry. When your ornaments start looking dull or grungy, there is every chance that you may be tempted to take it to a jeweler for a professional cleaning. But unless it’s scratched or seriously filthy, you don’t even need to spend money on commercial jewelry cleaner, because everything you need to give gold a good basic cleaning and shine is probably already in your home. Presenting before you some easy ways to keep your gold ornaments clean and shiny.

Liquid Soap Method
Put a few drops of liquid detergent in a bowl of warm water. Mix gently. Soak the gold jewelry in the solution for 15 minutes.Take a soft-bristle toothbrush or an eyebrow brush and scrub each piece of jewelry with it. Rinse each piece in warm running water. Blot dry with a soft cloth. If your jewelry is studded with stones, then wipe the jewelry with a cloth that's been dabbed in liquid soap solution. Rinse the jewelry with a cloth dampened with plain water.Lay the pieces upside down after cleaning so there is no moisture left.

Ammonia Method
Dont use this method too often but once in a while for special occasions you can try it. Mix one part ammonia to six parts water. Soak your gold jewelry in the mixture for just one minute or so and use a strainer to pulling it all out quickly at once. Rinse the jewelry thoroughly under running water and wipe with dry using a soft polishing cloth.

Toothpaste Method
Gold jewelry can be be cleaned using your old toothbrush and tooth paste. Gently scrub off grime using toothpaste. You can also apply the toothpaste to a cloth and hand polish your jewelry. Rinse in clean water. Use this method for gold items that you often wear.

Boiling Method
Boil your gold jewelry in water if you need to get oil, grease, or wax off it. Oil, grease, and wax will float to the top of the water. So long as the ornament is submerged in water no harm will come to it or any stones.

For those who were offended by my comment of Steven Tyler 'screaming'...my apologies to you. Everyone has their own taste in music and that is a good thing :)

Might as well admit that I was never a Beatles or Elvis fan :shame: :hills:

My taste in music is far and wide :) My first love of music is Gospel, then I adore Doo Wop Music, Old Country like Pasty Cline, Kenny Rodgers and so on (not a Dolly fan either) The 60's era is fantastic!! Really like Journey, Duran Duran, Queen, Cher, Abba, The Dog Night, Doobie Brothers...

Wishing you well with your consult. I had same reaction from medication a few years ago. Absolutely terrifying!
