Coffee- my older son had a "dry socket" when he had his wisdom teeth pulled
last year and he said it was very painful. Hope you feel better soon.

Spellbound, ice to your sacroiliac joints and sciatic notch is imperative. Also, when you are supine in bed, put a pillow under your knees (Williams Position). This takes the pressure off the nerve and helps a lot. Biofreeze, a camphor gel found in Walgreens and most pharmacies, works as a numbing agent on the skin when applied topically and it helps relieve the pain sensation. HTH

Thanks ladies. I have been taking Motrin and Flexeril, and using a heat pack. I will try the ice. I have also applied Biofreeze. I have a nasty smelling gel that helps with the knee arthritis, so may resort to that. No results from my efforts thus far, though. Doing some minor stretching exercises today.

My younger son and I have had some conversations about the topic of media coverage and all the senseless murders that have been happening lately. :scared: He believes that all the media coverage , cause more copy-cat murders and should be curtailed. Although I believe that the public should have knowledge of all news, I'm beginning to get really concerned with all the slaughter that has been happening and I've beginning to wonder if, maybe, he is correct???

I have always believed there's something to it, copycats. And think there are several factors that come into play:

An inflated population in general which increases the odds

A high enough percentile of the population that for various reasons don't have a well developed identity, have no sense of values or things that really matter. In Freudian terms, perhaps an underdeveloped Ego and a nonexistent Superego. These people, IMO, are also spiritually and emotionally bankrupt.

Then there's the overly proliferative mass media, that spreads the news of every single violent event that occurs, not just on our home turf, not just on our continent... but we hear of every event that occurs across the entire globe. ( That is not a good thing, IMO )

And this existed before we even had social media. Now, we have that, so it's even worse. Things have definitely become more virulent since this controversial invention. Pure Narcissism is what the whole Facebook phenomenon and the like are based on, IMO. And what it boils down to is we have an increasing population of self-centered, emotionally underdeveloped narcissistic.... and dangerous, sociopaths that care nothing for anyone but themselves. And.... they want attention. Thus we have walking time bombs, everywhere. :tsktsk:

OMG ~
I saw this on the news and about chocked on my sandwich! I have known Austin since he was 2 or 3 years old. His mother was one of the Dance Teachers at my daughters Dancing School and she would bring him to class. My girls took lessons from age 3, till about 16. We did however switch dance schools when entered their teens, but we would still see them at Completions. I have ran into his mom several times since, while shopping or eating out.

I am in shock! I texted(?) my daughter who was working when I saw it on the news, and she kept saying "are you sure" it was him? because he has been really sick and in the hospital and "xxxxx" keeps asking for prayers for Austin on FB. I told her I was 100% sure, that they had showed his mug shot.
Apparently he was the one that was stabbed. But from everything I have read so far, the guy was shot FIRST...and then 4 more times.

Dmacky, I can imagine you are upset about this, being so close to one of the arrested young men. I never know whether I am sad or angry at the young lives that stray so far from a decent life. So many others are affected by their actions. Such tragedies that never had to happen .... too many.

You know what Spell? I'm not at all upset...(as far as being close) I will say that I AM extremely shocked that someone I have known since he was a baby would be capable of murder!
It sounds like to me that there had to be was drugs involved? He apparently turned into a little punk ****. I know his mom is saying it was self defense on FB, BUT why in the hell would a 19yr. kid even have a gun????????

cj OMG..I feel so bad for you! My daughter got a dry socket when she had her wisdom teeth removed, and it was horrible! She had them out on a Friday (of course) and she was fine Sat.
On Sunday she was in so much pain that she was literally crying. (she was 20 yrs. old)
I called her oral surgeon who of course was out of the office, but they had a number I could reach him at for emergency's on their answering machine. He actually answered! He was at his daughter's softball game, :smile: but called her in a script for pain pills. We went back to see him on Monday and he repacked her tooth. I feel for you!!!! I know how awful it is ~
