I am getting excited, and cleaning like a mad woman. We are going to take a couple days away in the next week..... possibly hit part of New York and/or Pennsylvania. Looking forward to getting away. We are so glad my son is nearby and able to care for our critters .... of course, Mom leaves him plenty of food and treats for his dog. Unfortunately, having only three or four days away just never is enough.
That sounds like so much fun! It's been a long time since I've been on a road trip. Sometimes we would just load up the car and head North, with no particular place in mind. We just ended up wherever we ended up  We always found beautiful places to stay.
It's always good for our souls to turn off the cell-phone (or put it in our purse) close the computer, and just get away! Have a SAFE and wonderful time Spell!
And don't forget your Gas Cans :giggle:
Ricki ~I am at work now. Will try to post later on. Your right it is a shame. I don't know if I mentioned this but in recent years mass shootings went from once a month to once week. The training talked a lot about bullying also. You never now what struggles someone is facing or where their breaking point is.

Has anyone ever wanted to smack a grown child of yours right upside their head?!
Our DD decided she would come over and have an 'intervention' with us over spending money!!!! After all, we are on a 'fixed income'!
She thinks we should NOT be spending money since we are on SS now. She went on and on about how we a month ago we bought a new top of the line Ford Escape, pulled the carpets up in the bedrooms and laid that new fancy flooring, bought a new French Door fridge just yesterday, and NOW we are talking about buying that expensive Yorkie dog!! She was thinking we should cut up our credit cards...I was seeing RED.
Well DH looked at her and let her have it...how he had worked 44 years with the same company and has a damn good pension coming in, how we had planned on retirement and made plans for doing what we are doing (minus the dog buying). That she did not have a clue how much or how little money we had. He pointed out that we did not owe on anything, house been paid off for 7 years now, fridge was over 20 years old and it was none of her damn business what we did or didn't do! Plus, where was it a law that we would leave any money behind when we died. She was totally in shock when he finished with her LOL. Her Dad has never 'gone off' on her before, I was the 'heavy'.
I'm still ticked off at her and the other kids thinking we have gone on a big buying binge we would be in the poor house soon. KIDS!! they are worse when the grow up!
And this too shall pass.....

Hi all, just checking in after missing you all for days! I have to catch up on a lot, but here is hoping that everyone's animals are doing well and are out of the woods. JINGLES sent for continued health.
Apparently there are some members who read here who may have misunderstood about my horse. Please rest assured that he is doing well, is not being kept alive for selfish reasons, that I do not have Munchausen by proxy related to my horse, and that my horse gets the BEST CARE money can buy. I have world renown vets on his case and care and when it is time to put him down, I will. But until then, I will do everything in my power and control to see that he continues to thrive and live a long and happy life. I am anything but an irresponsible horse owner and these horses get the absolute best of everything. And all the love and care any horse could ever want.
ETA: This is a $100,000 horse and most owners would have put him down and collected the check and gone on. Not me. He is boarded at an elite show barn and has been trained by an Olympic caliber equestrian athlete. So please no more stones. My horse. My heart. My decision.

Chocolate Covered Pumpkin Spice Cake Balls
Ingredients
Duncan Hines Spice Cake Mix (and ingredients to make the cake)
Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers
Ghirardelli Black Melting Wafters (optional, for drizzle)
8 oz. Cream Cheese, softened
Pumpkin Spice (optional, for tops of cake balls)
Cake Pan (I used 2 round 9-inch cake pans)
Parchment Paper
Cookie Sheet
Microwave Safe Bowl
Electric Hand Mixer
Instructions
1.Bake your cake according to the directions. Pro tip: Use a paper towel and rub crisco on the inside of the cake pan. Then cover the crisco is a thin layer of flour. Doing this will ensure the cake will pop right out of the cake pan once its baked.
2.Once your cake has been baked and cooled, use 2 forks to fluff the cake. Basically you are chopping it into smaller pieces.
3.Put your cake pieces and entire package of softened cream cheese into a large bowl.
4.Use your hand mixer to mix the cake and cream cheese until mixed well. This takes about 2-3 minutes to incorporate all of the cream cheese into the cake. Once mixed, you should be able to mold the mixture together with your hands.
5.Using your hands, form small balls about 1 inch in diameter and place onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
6.Place into the freezer until the cake balls are hardened and firm.
7.Melt the chocolate in the microwave falling the directions on the back. Be careful not to burn.
8.Remove the cake balls from the freezer and use a teaspoon to dip them into the chocolate covering them completely. Return to the cookie sheet.
9.If you want, you can sprinkle the tops with some Homemade Pumpkin Spice.
10.Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens.
11.Serve immediately or store in an airtight container until ready for consumption.

Dmacky, we must plan a road trip together![]()
(if my kids will let me hahaha)...
Since this site changed I hate it. I have nothing but trouble. I have no problems anywhere else, just here, mainly on Sideboard. My favorite spot!! I' m going to cry! :anguish:
Zuri ~
I cannot even imagine that anyone would ever think that about you
Was it someone here, on the Sidebar? I have never heard or read anything negative about you. EVER
Zuri, you are one of the most compassionate, kind, thoughtful and loving member here in the whole WS community! Your heart is pure good. Everyone knows (or should) how much you love all of your animals. Your horse is beautiful and he is very much loved, and I would have done the very same thing that you did to help him feel better and get better...no matter what!
I would have done ANYTHING in this world to have kept my Macky. Sadly, cancer had spread so bad by the time she showed ANY sign that she was even sick that it was too late to do anything.
Whoever questioned your love for your horse should mind their own damn business and they can kiss my :butthead: It had to be someone who has never had pets. They just don't get it.
You are loved Zuri :heartbeat:

I just cannot understand the world these days. :tears:
ETA: it is being reported that the shooter has been identified as a former employee (no name given) and they are in pursuit.
Both the the victims were engaged to other employees at the station, Allison's fiancé watched as this occurred. Just so awful, all the way around.
Spellbound, hope you have a fun and relaxing time on your trip! :skip:
Seriously? Someone was getting all in your face about that?:gaah:
Keep doing what you're doing, Zuri. YOU know your horse. Anyone gives you any grief, tell them where they can stick it.
Hi Zuri and Bernina, some people need to keep their piehole closed on subjects they know nothing of.
you know sort of mind their own business! :chillout:
