DID YOU KNOW
HOW TO CLEAN STAINLESS STEEL?
If it's an appliance such as a refrigerator...
What You Need:
White vinegar
An empty spray bottle
A cleaning cloth
What You Do:
Fill a spray bottle with undiluted white vinegar. Then, spray on all of your stainless steel surfaces, and wipe dry with a soft cleaning cloth. Simple and effective!
Why This Works:
The acetic acid in the vinegar cuts through the oil left behind by fingertips, rather than smearing it around like a lot of other cleaners.
If it's something like a sink, there are different issues because of constant water, soap, pots and pans. Here's five different options:
a) Cream of Tartar and Hydrogen Peroxide:
Mix three parts cream of tartar with one part hydrogen peroxide to create a paste that cleans stainless steel sinks. Use a damp cloth to apply the mixture, and then massage into the surface. Let the sink dry and then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
b) Vinegar:
Soak a soft cloth in white vinegar, and scrub the surface of your stainless steel sink.
c) Baking Soda:
The gentle abrasive action of baking soda is good at creating a clean shine for stainless steel sinks. Sprinkle a small amount into the basin, and scrub down using a damp sponge.
d) A Quick Rinse:
A good way to keep soaps and bleaches from harming your stainless steel sinks is to quickly rinse after using. Leaving leftover soap or bleach can damage the steel over time.
e) Olive Oil:
To add shine to your sink, rub in a small amount of olive oil. This remedy will also help remove water spots from stainless steel. Rub with a soft cloth moistened with olive oil, and then buff with a dry cloth.

BANANA SPLIT TRIFLE

Serves 10-12
1 Box Yellow Cake Mix or Angel Food Cake Mix
1 Lg Pkg. Banana Pudding
3 large bananas, sliced
1 ½ cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 ½ - 2 cups chopped fresh pineapple (or 6 oz can of crushed pineapple, drained)
1 Container - Cool Whip, thawed
1 Jar Maraschino Cherries, diced
½ C Pecans, chopped
¼ cup chocolate syrup
Prepare the cake and make sure it’s completely cooled before assembling the dessert.
Cut the cake into bite-sized pieces. Prepare the pudding mix. In a trifle dish (or large salad bowl) break up the bite-size pieces, using half the cake for the first layer. Top the cake pieces with half of the pudding, half of the bananas, half of the strawberries, half of the pineapple, half of the Cool Whip, half the Maraschino cherries, half of the chocolate syrup and half of the nuts. Repeat all these steps with the remaining ingredients in the same order. Chill until ready to serve.
*Note: When I assemble mine, I don’t allow the pudding to set completely before assembling because I want it to work it’s way in between the cake pieces before it firmly sets.
** For a healthier alternative... Use the angel food cake, low-fat pudding and cool whip, and chopped pistachio nuts. ENJOY!

Hello Everyone. Hope everyone having a good day.

America Got Talent should be on tonight. Its been a good year for it.

My favorite act is the "Human Regurgitator". :) LMAO

This guy is hilarious. A little disgusting but so so funny. He swallows stuff and then hits his chest to cough back up whatever he swallowed. The sounds he makes when choking back up the objects is hysterical.

I didn't realize he was on Britains show years ago. This is a clip from it. In AGT he is doing well this year.

Yeah, I read that story, too. WTH? How does that make any sense? Children -- by definition -- are loved by their MOTHERS. That's a given. Even if you think the rest of the world doesn't love them, YOU DO -- that's your job!!!

But, okay, you're right. There's obviously some mental illness going on here. I am sad for those two little boys, and I hope this woman gets the help she needs. Still, how can so many innocent children keep falling through the cracks???

All I know is that some of the antidepressants and anti anxiety meds can REALLY mess up your head.

I was put on Remeron and the 1st day I took it, it was like a BAD acid trip. Everything was MELTING, and it was NOT a cool thing, very, very bad. Threw out the bottle. Prozac worked for 6 weeks and then tanked the next 6, doc doubled the dose (from 20mg-40), up then down, increased by 20 mg more, up, down, increase by 20, up, down, and straight to the nut hut for 3 1/2 weeks (was on Prozac for a year). Cymbalta was just existing, no motivation, totally disinterested, very depressed, felt like I was "toxic", I called it rat poison. Doc kept increasing that too. Got off it cold turkey after a year, doc had me on twice the therapeutic level.

Some meds can bring on psychosis. Everybody's metabolism is different.
I really believe that most people who kill their children have got to have a mental disorder. Granted, there are few that are just evil, whether to spite a significant other or just relieve themselves of a burden, but if you've been on the "crazy train"..............your mind can go to some really terrible places, horrific things seem necessary, and can be incredibly influenced by religious ideology/good vs. evil.
I watched my ex go through that, many, many times. It is the most frightening, helpless situations I've ever been through. He always was suicidal, not homicidal, but anything could have flipped the switch.

This mom will not see any light at the end of the tunnel, whether it's incompetency, guilty but insane......she'll be in prison or institutionalized for the rest of her life. It's Arizona.
People who are sane play the intruder/carjacker/kidnapper card. People who are mentally challenged come right out and tell you they did it and why....because in their head it was rational.
JMO and experience.

The Holmes theatre shooting case delved into his mental issues too. It was an interesting case to follow because most people agreed he had mental issues. He tried to use the insanity defense and he was found guilty because the LEGAL definition of that defense was ruled not to apply to him even though he did have some mental issues.

It showed how complex mental issues are. I think the courts got it right in his case. He had mental issues but they were not to the level where he did not know right from wrong when he planned his murderous activities. He had chances to stop himself and yet he proceeded.

So its an interesting case. Because his mental issues started him down the path to commit the crimes to begin with and yet he knew enough that it was wrong to do it. And did it anyway.

It is too bad that modern day medicines have not solved mental issues for people. They are very complex and there are all types and levels of disorders. We have come a long way but still so much further to go.

Triple-murder defendant not competent to stand trial

http://dcourier.com/main.asp?SectionID=1&SubSectionID=1&ArticleID=149326

This case is local, Prescott, Az.
We see quite a few cases like this, probably due to having the biggest mental health network in all of Yavapai County. Many people move into the area for these services, others go through treatment and don't have a place to go.
Same with drug addicts in the past 10 years. Prescott is "Rehab Heaven", and a lot of people are sick of it. Many "clients" abandon the programs and stick around. They live down at the river beds or in the National forest, recently one couple as found living in the basement of an occupied home, a man was found living in a resident's dog house. With that comes more drugs, crime, and prostitution. Yesterday a LE officer was attacked by a man who was using the court house restrooms to do his drugs.

It's just getting weird and uncomfortable in town now days.:scared:

I'm with you there.
And what about cases where the suspect refuses to take their meds? How accountable can we hold them?
I wonder if medical professionals have thought about a no fuss, no muss type of drug transmission similar to Norplants, where a patient could get a continual dose over a period of 5-7 years. But, the biggest reason people go off their meds is the side effects, "fogginess", not being "real", if that makes sense, being put in a zombie type state. It's pretty common for people who are bipolar and/or schizophrenic in the more severe range. They are more apt to self medicate.
It's a really tough area.
Then there's the public's perception of "Mental Illness". We're not all bat chit crazy because our illness has been classified as "Mental", lol!

Some good points you bring up.

I like the idea of some method of administering that could help ensure people received their doses for the severe cases where safety of others and themselves comes into play.

You are also right that public perception and peoples biases come into play. Especially for people that do not have any issues and do not understand a lot about mental illnesses.

Public perceptions start at a very early age. Kids in school begin cruel jokes about it based on what they hear and see on TV and elsewhere. So kids begin to learn falsehoods about mental issues.

When I was really young there was a place called Creedmore Mental Hospital in Queens NY. Our bus would go by there on the way to the YMCA. The kids on the bus always joked about it in a bad and scary way. So my first learning about mental disorders was given to me by kids and a lot of false information. To make things worse, the place really did look scary. And to find out later that some bad doctors there did commit horrendous activities on patients.

So I do agree that public perception plays a big part. Which is very unfortunate. Not enough has been done to educate the public. It seems there is still a quiet hush in society about mental illnesses. Its unfortunate it is like a Taboo subject for most people.
So much of the information is bad information based on falsehoods.
The tragedies of the early century doctors that did not know how to deal with people makes it even more difficult because some real true horror stories happened at a lot of facilities before modern times. And now in modern times, we have not progressed as far as we need to. Much more work needs to be done in this avenue.

Below is a link I found to some of the atrocities that doctors themselves did to patients at Creedmore. Its no wonder the kids on my bus came up with the stories they told. Some of it must have been based on true stories they also had heard about.

Hatfield, we had a place like that called "24th and Van Buren", the State Mental Facility.
It was shut down when most of the other ones nationwide did, when Reagan was in office.
Never had a homeless situation down in Phoenix until that happened. There were illegal immigrants that camped in the vast orchards that were once all over there, but those too are pretty much gone.

I remember years and years ago I worked in a medical office,we actually had people seeking antidepressants--I was shocked. I also know that in final stages of mom's dementia she wouldn't take all medications she was supposed to. Somehow in her drugged zombie like state she spit some out and put them in her pocket. She was supposed to be supervised--

OMG.
LSD, speed........for children?
Giving schizophrenics, of all things, LSD?!?!?!?!?!
WTH.
I was heavily into "mind altering drugs" between 16 and 17. I KNEW what they could do. I KNEW what state of mind I had to be in or NOT be in. I KNEW who I should be around, or NOT be around, where I'd feel "safe" as opposed to "scared.

But it was under the controlled conditions I chose.

Putting kids in a dark room with a stranger, not explaining what they're going to possibly experience, that would make a normal person experience psychosis. Schizophrenic people are already ON an altered plain of reality. LDS, mescaline, and the like, make one susceptible to any type of suggestion. I would consider those the most effective drugs for breaking a person down and brain washing them.

That Dr. went far, far beyond "child abuse". I can't even come up with a word that describes my revulsion.

Its horrendous isn't it. And to think the doctor really thought she was doing them some good for all those years. The doctor must have been sick in the mind herself.
It was a real life Dr. Jekyl. Very sad.
