Morning all!

the corn bread!

Baking soda - I take it for heart burn - no use wasting money on stuff they advertise on TV!! :D

Niner ... what's going on with the Tennis Channel? The commentators said a few hours ago they are not allowed to stream the women players. WHY? They couldn't say why just that they can't do that. That's half the reason I subscribed to it! So no more Serena and all the others and it seems I'm not able to watch on ESPN3 either.

update -- FB mentions a contract dispute.

 :dunno: I like to watch the men's games anyway, so I'm not TOO upset if they aren't showing women, except when Maria Sharapova plays!! :giggle:

I recently was given some info that I feel I should report to our Local Police. Could be something/nothing. My Husband and Family are Danish. My MIL talks with her Sister weekly in a small city outside of Copenhagen. Now my MIL is 82 and her Sister is 85. Both sharp for the most part. Anyhoo Uda shared with my MIL yesterday she has a group of Syrian's now living in her building. Apparently there is a lot of activity. Folks coming and going and expensive cars. It might not hurt to report???? Uda is scared and does not want to report anything. I will have to dance around MIL trying to get the addy and exactly what apt. these folks are living in. What do u folks think?
ETA Uda sees them almost daily as she hops on her bike to go down to the market for her fresh food. They are a group of 6 men. Polite to her but as I said her hinky meter is up.

Hinky Meter or gut instinct - report!! :freakedout: !!!

Zuri - any reports from your husband on my Huz?? Sunday he wanted to die... but yesterday was a lot better, but still bad... I finally talked him into thinking about a pace maker! Which was suggested by his first heart doctor, before he had to change insurances... He has an appointment with his new heart doctor next Wednesday, so we shall see!!

I found this on my Facebook and sharing, cause you all are my Friends, even though you are imaginary!! (as my Huz calls you all!)

Have a GREAT day everyone!

Later!! :seeya:

Got a boat load of issues:

Start menu won't come up, get a "Critical Error"
Notification icon won't open
Have to "Sign In" everytime I start up my computer (WTF!)
Can't get into any of my programs unless I had them pinned to my desktop

Spent over 3 hours this morning trying to fix it with command lines given to me on the Micro Soft forum.
Did NOT work!!!!

I HATE Windows 10!!!!!!!!!

And...............a stupid swarm of bees have found refuge under my house, they better leave come this afternoon or I'm going to smoke those boogers out!!!! How am I supposed to know if they're domestic or killer bees?!?!?!?!?!

AURGH!!!!!

Bernina, so sorry you're having issues with Windows 10. That being said, this is precisely the reason I never upgrade to a new platform for at least six months as there are too many bugs and privacy issues that need to be addressed. I'm bull-headed and refuse to be held hostage, by Microsoft, as a guinea pig while they fix known issues and issues yet to come!

Best of luck to you!

Bernina, just looked it up. 100% of wild bees in Arizona are thought to be Africanized, ie killer bees. I'd be calling a bee person as quick as I could.

What does your husband think, Bravo? If they aren't the type to get suspicious/uncomfortable of others and this is out of character, it can't hurt to report it. Better safe than not.

Well he is concerned as well. I chatted by PM with a fellow Euro board member. The expensive cars dont quite fit??? He is over at my MIL's right now just saying we really should have Uda's addy and phone number in case of Emergency. He had to get some kind of cleareance thru Interpol years ago because of his biz and travel. I think he might have a bit more cred. than I reporting LOL

  • #368
You are doing right, Bravo. Glad you found a good person to guide/help you in this dilemma. In this day, we have to be so careful. It must be even more difficult being this far away and their advancing ages. Sounds like they need you.

I sincerely apologize for being such a stranger.
Hope everyone is doing ok.

I saw Berninas post about Windows 10 and sorry to hear it is giving you fits. I finally had to start using my Windows 8 machine because my other old machine finally died on me. LOL

So I feel your pain as I am struggling too. Except I probably cant help you much since I am just with Windows 8. I keep getting lost on screens and cant figure out how to get back. LOL

I finally figured out the trick for Windows 8 to bounce to other hidden screens.
I use my ALT-TAB keys and I can then find my hidden screens.
Its crazy though and I hate it.

The only thing good is I am kind of getting used to it and at least Videos and websites work on this new machine.

I know what you mean about having to sign into the machine just when I boot up the machine. I hate that because I have to type in a long windows password just to boot up the PC. And I don't like having to log into Microsoft just to use my machine.

I also have the problem too about finding my applications and get Shortcuts built on my Desktop. I found a trick for that but the hard part is finding the application to begin with. If you can find the application you want then what I do is I find a spot where I can right-click and find the PROPERTIES or location of where it is running from. (the "EXE" file)

Once I find that, I create my own shortcut to the DESKTOP and just build my own ICONS for the Application. I do that by going to the DESKTOP and doing a RIGHT-CLICK .....then NEW, then....SHORTCUT and paste in the address of the EXE file and VIOLA I have built my own shortcuts to my Application just like the old days.

The hardest part is finding a spot where I can cut+paste the address of the EXE for it. Because its a nightmare to find out where the apps run from.

The best other tip I can give is do like you are doing and use GOOGLE and try to find people with similar issues in different forums and different Blogs, etc. Usually I can piece together peoples issues that relate to my issue to sometimes find a solution but be careful not to do anything to make it worse. LOL

GOOD LUCK with the Windows 10 issues and with the BEES.

P.S. I know its too late but the advice Jasper52 gave is great advice. Whenever a new operating system comes out, I never like to use it until at least a year or 2 after it comes out.
I wish I could have bought Windows 7 instead of Windows 8 when I got this new machine about a year ago. I really had no choice because it came with the PC I bought.

I give meds in a "Pill Pocket", which are flavored treats with a compartment for pills or capsules. "Greenies" makes them and they are so easy to do as the dogs love them. Bella gets her psycho meds twice a day and it is never a problem. HTH

My dog is so picky he spits out the Pill Pockets. LOL

The only thing I have found that works good for my dog is to get special Steak or good lunchmet and wrap the pill in lunchmeat. Once he knows it is really good meat, then he eats it so fast he doesn't know a pill is in there.

The problem is I never have anything available at the time. Sometimes I have to cook him a special dinner just to get some meat to put a pill in it. LOL

Hello Spellbound and everyone. I have a lot of reading to catch up on here to see how everyone has been.

I have been caught up in some of the missing persons threads and saw some of us in some other threads but I have lots of reading to do here.

Did anyone watch that Jodi Arias special the other day. It was pretty good and was a new show recap about the whole case. I liked the way they did it. Nothing new except it was a different perspective and was well done I thought.

Ella Mae was twenty one months old in that video. She has three others videos.

Bernina, just looked it up. 100% of wild bees in Arizona are thought to be Africanized, ie killer bees. I'd be calling a bee person as quick as I could.

Our area has domestics that are tended out on State Land Trust, I even caught a swarm many years back and put them in a super.
So the issue is:
Bees swarm between 10:00 and 3:00 during the day, domestic and Africanized. They just chill out, take a breather, and regroup. (and dangit if I didn't see a scout by the water faucet yesterday not more than 4 feet from where they entered the hole under the house!) Usually, they'll head out around 2-3:00 for more conducive hive areas.
They seem to have totally chilled out, maybe 3-4 are milling around to go inside, no active "in and out", just going in.......leads me to believe they ARE just resting.
(I collected the fire extinguishers just in case they want to get nasty)
AND.........I have 2 bee suits (crazy, huh).

Depending on what they decide to do, the area is "off limits" for the time being. If they don't go on their way, I'll be calling a local bee keeper. If they want to "charge" me (oh for pete's sake, if they're domestic, they just become part of the bee keeper's hives........win, win, for them + they get $$$$$) I'll just get the fire department to come foam their butts.

Swarms aren't anything new out here, from spring through early fall, you can hear them before you see them, black clouds shooting across the sky. But there's always the few nasty ones that attack people, horses, and dogs.

Horses are far away from them, dogs aren't going outside because it's too "warm" for them, lol! Just don't want to start the lawn mower or anything else that might agitate them.

I hide them in the center of cheese, lol! When you have 2 begging for it, they don't inspect it!

This time, since I can't use peanut butter, I bought a small can of Iam's dog food, the only thing is it's not the low-fat type they wanted me to get for her, but it was the only one Lucky's carried, and the pet food stores were closed Sun. evening. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, she's acting fine and begging again.

I watched most of it (kept dozing off). I thought it was "fair", but there were a couple minor things that seemed not quite accurate. Sorry I can't remember what they were now. Dan Freman was interesting, getting better perspective of what he felt at the time.

Bernina ~ I had Windows 10 for not even 2 days and did a Recovery and went back to 7. Not a fan of 10 at all!

Here's the steps for going back:
Settings
Update and Security
Recovery

Didn't take long at all for Windows 7 be restored back. Everything was like I left it before I installed 10.
Good luck with Windows 10. Many people are having issues with 10...
