I wish someone had given Jesus a dog.
As loyal and loving as mine.

It is sad to remember that Christ went away.

For The One who died for all men.

Knowing they're in eternity.
Day after day, the whole day through,

Four feet said, "Wait, I'm coming with you!"

Thanks for the sympathy that you have shown. It is hard and there is a empty place in my heart and home

He was doing well and around 4 am he started having heart failure. The assistance called the vet and he and the assistance worked on him and tried too revive him and it didn't work. They were as shocked as we are...

We could not stand the thought of going and picking him up in a plastic bag and bringing him back home. He is being cremated and we will bury his ashes by his big brother Sims.

My Little Bubby didn't make it...we are devastated over losing him!!

My sweet Northern friend :hug: I am completely shocked and totally devastated for you. :frown: Unfortunately, I know exactly how you feel. I know how much you loved your furbaby, and he was so adorable and those big beautiful eyes that just melted my heart.
It's a long way back to finding a new normal for us and I am still not there yet.
I still cry EVERY single day for my precious girl and it's been 7 long lonely weeks and 2 days. Please know that I am always here for you if you ever need to talk. We can cry on each others shoulder.

I am trying not to make this post about ME, but I just wanted you to know that I do share your pain and grief. Please know that you are very much loved by all your SB friends and your pain is our pain.
Sending you love and prayers as you stumble through your unfair journey of just trying to put on foot in front of the other and get through each day. :loveyou:

You know Dmacky...YOU were the first thing I thought of after the shock wore off of losing Bubby...that how will this affect my southern friend, she is still grieving over her loss.

I'm just drained! The vet said we did the right thing and they did everything possible to save him. If he had not had the surgery he would have died a horrible, painful death. He was in such pain when we took him in. I know he is now playing with his much beloved big brother and Sims his nipping at his little bubby, 'get back in the yard'!! But, knowing this does not help with the emptiness we all feel when we loss someone we dearly loved. Be human or animals.

Here at the SB, you all took me in and befriended me and I am thankful and proud to be a member of this SB. The best place on the web I know I can come here day or night and pour my heart out and someone always understands or has/or going through it also. Who needs a shrink when we have SB

My dh is playing with his new birthday toy. I got him a new laptop. he's been on my old old laptop with Vista, and he's a cussing the new 8.1 and then upgrading from it. You'd think he was a sailor with a mouth like that.

A friend gave me Paul Prudhomme Louisiana Kitchen when it came out in the eighties, and he has wonderful recipes for gumbo, jambalaya, bbq shrimp, red beans and rice. That is the only cajun cookbook I use.

I remember making my first roux. It was for gumbo and that's a dark roux, and I was lucky and didn't burn it.

Were you brought up with red beans and rice on Monday's? and it was laundry day and your mother made you hang the clothes on the line?

I have that cookbook. Yes, red beans and rice are the ONLY cajun dish I do well... my dh who doesn't like cajun food loves this. But I just haven't made a great gumbo.

Bad night...Bubby would always come into the bedroom and hit the mattress with his paw, letting us know which side of the floor he was sleeping on. I have been known to kick him when I got out of bed if he was on my side. Kept waiting for that little hit from his paw...
