Zuri Update:

In touch with Zuri and shared all the previous comments that folks made since YESorNo posted above. She has asked me to paraphrase her response ....

She was very touched with the family here at the WS sidebar. She says she will be fine, and is too mean to die ( pfffft... she is the sweetest!) and says that the sidebar folks are the "loveliest group of people". ...

Although she asked me to paraphrase... I loved too much some of her words to share as mine ... so I won't paraphrase .. and follows...

" all the things and no cards, or flowers could ever show the true beauty in their hearts. That is enough right there to last me a life time. Love you. "

Prayers up for Zuri... Sweet dreams and we'll talk to you tomorrow xoxoxoxox

I'm sure she'll be back soon and tell the Paul Harvey "rest of the story" later.

Whew! Thanks so much for this update. Now I can to to bed and get some much needed sleep...

Thanks Atthelake. Zuri sure has been having a hard time with her health. It must be nice to have a dhmd close by. I have always been blessed with good heath,so I guess I take it for granted. Many here have spoken about trouble with breathing and things, and about the only thing I can relate to is a cold and stopped up nose. I do have a question. What do you do when you have a cold/flu and when you lay your head down one nostril stops up and you can only breathe out of one? And you know if you turn over and try to sleep on that side the other nostril stops up, and you're back in the same place. What do you do to help both nostrils to not be stopped up? I have had laryngitis several times and I sound like Micky mouse.

ILikeToBendPages, Mucinex DM should do the trick. Talk to your pharmacist. Theres a few different ones. A little pricey though.

Mucinex is what the hospital gives me when I am admitted with lung issues. I keep a bottle on hand at all times and the Mucinex Extended tabs.

Do you know her address? Or the hospital she's in? Would you be okay with sharing that info in a PM (or several PMs)? I would so love for us to be able to flood her with cards and flowers.

She is such a kind, generous and giving person. Wouldn't it make her feel so much better if she knew her WS family was rallying around her! I know our messages of support would boost her spirits and help her get well sooner. She's our wonderful Zuri, and right now, she deserves all the help that we can give her.

Please respond as you're able, yes/no...

ETA:

Just to make things easier for you, should you be okay with PMs, here is a list of most of the people who regularly post here (please forgive me if I have left anyone out):

atthelate, Bernina, coffeejunkie, Dmacky, GigiG, Hatfield, ILikeToBendPages, Jasper52, LinusK, neesaki, Niner, Nore, Spellbound, Susza, zoey

Also, I'm sure she'd like to hear from katiecoolady, so if any has a PM contact with her, please send a message.

Thank you Gigi, I SOOOO wanted to ask the same thing, but you always say things so much better

I would love to send something to our Zuri. But I don't know if I can get out of this damn house as my :butthead: hurts when I sit!!!
I absolutely adore her, as I know we all do.

Cold/Flu Natural Remedy
Nature's Best to the Rescue!!

With Allergy and Flu season here, this natural remedy should bring some relief. Put 1 tablespoon of the syrup into a cup of hot water and sip. It helps soothe a sore throat and calm a cough. It will also help with relieving allergies and gives your immune system a good boost.

Lemons give you Vitamin C for your immune system, Coconut oil helps fight infection and reduce your symptoms, and honey helps to soothe the throat.

Mix together the following:
3 tablespoons lemon juice (preferably fresh squeezed)
1/4 cup Organic raw honey
2 tablespoons organic coconut oil
Put 1 tablespoon of mixture into a cup of hot water.
Stir together and slowly slip when you have allergies or flu-like symptoms.

I didn't see your post Spell! YES, great idea! We need Zuri back home ASAP
I hope she knows how much she is loved :heartbeat:

16 Times Bad Letter Spacing Made All The Difference

All it takes is bad letter spacing to cause some serious confusion (and laughter). The businesses and individuals pictured below were caught with poorly spaced letters resulting in some unintentionally risqué signs and messages.

The next time you’re creating a sign for the public to read make sure you take into consideration letter spacing and font, all it takes is a few millimeters to transform a completely normal statement into something that makes jaws drop.

In the world of metal printing there are distinct types of letter spacing available, including manual, automatic or no kerning. Without any kerning (automatic spacing) it can appear that there are spaces between letters when there really aren’t; automatic kerning tends to produce mixed results. And when it comes to handwriting, writer-discretion advised… especially if you work at Starbucks and write people’s names on cups (see #3)!
Check these out at the link...some funny stuff

Thank you for this, ATL!!! I am glad Zuri was able to get our messages. We will miss her a lot, but k owing she is getting the care she needs and will return healthier is a relief.
re BBM: That's our Zuri, thinking kindly of others even when she feels miserable.

Thanks to friends here, we learned the benefit of Mucinex!

I use "tiger balm" (originally coming from the chinese medecin) or "japanese mint healing oil" .
That's about the only "medecine" I always have at home.
Both are strong and you shouldn't put it too close to your eyes - you wouldn't be able to turn the pages of your book any longer ;) . Just try it out carefully.

Re the japanese oil: just put a small drop on a kleenex and hold it close to your nose. You can also put a bit on your chest.
Hope this helps. :)

Well, I do feel sorry for your father. What must exist in a person to have such anger towards one's fellow man? Hatred is really just a poison that kills from within. So glad that you didn't inherit those genes. We know all too well how sometimes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. You, on the other hand, have clearly shown that you are above such small-minded thinking.

I remember when Lily was going through her ordeal, and you pointed out that she was bi-racial (am I remembering that right?). So clearly, you didn't fall into the xenophobia that your father not only embraced, but was on a mission about. Hats off to you for being the bigger person, and raising your kids to be open and accepting of others. :)

Norman, OK. I need to make a pilgrimage there one of these days. James Garner was my idea of the perfect man (def not a 🤬🤬🤬🤬, I do believe someone was being jealous there, IMO), and was quite proud of being an Okie/Sooner. If it weren't for him, I'd probably write Oklahoma off as being too far right wing, intolerant of "others" and way far behind the curve in terms of the trajectory of this country in 2015. JMO.

Toby Keith is from there--either Norman or Moore, IIRC . We encountered several wonderful people when my sister's son played baseball there years ago.

Took one of my daughter's to doctor on Monday. She was to sick to fill out paperwork but I was amazed at some of the "gender" questions. I'd, what gender were you born? What gender do you identify with. Guess just a sign of times--im not against either or just surprisedseeing it.

Something's just really chapping my hide...........
When does someone's religious views supersede their job description to uphold the laws of the land?
If someone at a fast food joint refused to serve a person because of their moral feelings about race, religion, disability, or sexual preference, they'd be fired.
Protection of freedom and rights for ALL people. Division of church and State.
The people who are claiming to be "oppressed" are actually the "oppressors".
I am so sick of it.
The United States is NOT a theocracy, it's a DEMOCRACY.
Nobody should be applauded for violating the Law of the Land.

This is flat out bigotry and NO ONE should accept it, support it, or tolerate it.
Are we supposed to allow "honor killings" to go un-prosecuted because someone's religious beliefs? Are we supposed to allow polygamy? How about wives as "property", subservience to their husbands? Child brides? How about a "caste" system?

If a person can't perform the duties of their job, ESPECIALLY those in the government sector, they should quit or be terminated.

:gaah:
