Thank you, Niner, for the infos you pm-ed me. I went on the website of the city of Baden-Baden and found a form to fill out for those who need a birth cert. I filled it out as far as I could but they ask for the complete birth date - and we only have Sophias birth year. They also seem to want a prove that the person who fills out the request belongs to the family. Hmm, difficult for me ;)
Anyway, it'll be easier for me to call them and explain. I'll do my best to speak their dialect so that they treat me like one of their's. As soon as I will have talked to them I'll let you know.

BBM - I'm really confused about your emphasis on "again". It sounds as if I hadn't done something I had promised to do but I do not remember having received any info concerning your research about Sophia/her parents ever before . Or am I on an advanced stade of Alzheimer? ;)

Actually I'm not living in Germany any more but in Geneva. I was born and grew up there (about 60 km from Baden-Baden). I go back there to be with my parents about once a month and we spend the week-end together. If ever it would be necessary I would try to go there already on a friday afternoon, drive up to Baden-Baden and talk to the person in charge of the city administration center. There MUST be a way to get the infos you wish to have.

Hi Susza  Okay - first MY mistake, but thought it WAS you, must have been another poster that was in Switzerland! No! No Alzheimer's for you!! And thank you for doing this! Those are the only birth dates I have; some are just "about", which I found on Ancestry site.
Oh I LOVE Baden-Baden!! :happydance: well ALL of Germany and Austria - such beautiful countries! My mother and I took a trip thru Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Lichenstein in 1984. Fun trip! I even went to a casino in Baden-Baden; had to go back home and change from my jeans to a dress, as they wouldn't let me in the way I was dressed! Oh, and I distinctly remember the the MacDonald's there - all gold leaf inside!! WOW!

The Huz finally sent me my pictures from little Bro's memorial. Here's a few.
This is the church it was held in.

and I'm going to log off for the night, and will find some more pictures to post!

I think it was Zuri. I posted before about Bern and IIRC she said it was the most beautiful place on earth.

I'm reading backward ... again and I posed before reading yours. So, does the video gives help us understand that part of the world and who all it's made up of?

So you kids are talking about Bern, Switzerland......... here's a little humor for that area, well, kinda!

Guess the name of the mountain, lol!
History crossing paths..........or just strange names........

I stand in awe of God and this planet He made for us. So, a humble sewing machine? and not the biggest most beautiful mountain in the range?

which leads us to a trivia fact for today.

1991 - Ötzi was found by two German tourists, at an elevation of 3,210 metres (10,530 ft) on the east ridge of the Fineilspitze in the Ötztal Alps on the Austrian–Italian border.

Just stopping by to say hi. I hate that I haven't been around for 1,000 years (I miss errybody!!). Not that anyone cares, I'm just sayin'. :) Visiting Mesa again in December and I'll be driving by Travis's home, just to pay tribute by acknowledging him. Anyway, good to check in!

Losing light...today marks the halfway point between the longest day of the year and the shortest. We lose about 2 minutes of daylight per day as we pass the Autumnal Equinox today...

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU WONDER?

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Evening news is where they begin with 'Good evening', and then proceed to tell you why it isn't.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

The sole purpose of a child's middle name, is so he can tell when he's really in trouble

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!

I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.

Worrying works! 90% of the things I worry about never happen.

Some people hear voices.. Some see invisible people.. Others have no imagination whatsoever.

I am having a lot of trouble with WS the last couple days. "Server down" briefly, page opens then closes, slow responses, etc. Frustrating, so I read more than post ..

Good to see Y/N was here!l
Hope Zuri is feeling better now she is home. Get well!!

Morning all!

Spellbound - you're not the only one having problems with WS! :gaah: I've tried at least 3 times to post this morning, and gave up!! Hoping this one goes thru....

YESorNO - :waiting: until this weekend to see you post again!! :happydance: You know we've all missed you here!

Zuri - JINGLES!!!

ILikeToBendPages - no I don't believe it was Zuri who was trying to help me on that. I believe it was someone in Europe and they hadn't posted that much; :waitasec: but unfortunately, I deleted my PM's from the person since they couldn't find anything for me! Oh Well!!!

Here's another picture from around the Church area. The rest are with other people, so I won't post those! :)

Later! :seeya:
