Hello Everyone. Been hanging in the various crime threads. Bouncing around to lots of different threads.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Just finished reading back through many posts and glad to hear most everyone is doing ok.

Wanted to chime in on some of the important things in no particular order.

1-So happy to hear about your horse doing better Zuri

2-Great Candy even if it rips out a few fillings.....
Remember those Candy Dots on strips of paper like from an adding machine. You would rip off the candy colored dots and the paper came with it so you always had to eat a little paper with the dots. LOL
2.1-Licorice Pipes
2.2-Wax Soda Syrup bottles
2.3-Wax Lips
2.4-Flying Saucer wafer with candy dots in the middle. The outside wafer saucer tasted like cardboard...LOL
2.5-Sting Licorice about 4 feet long
2.6-Ju Ju Bees
2.7-Boston Baked Beans
2.8-Good Salt Water Taffy that came in those huge long strips of paper where you had to peel it off

3- Surgery to transplant human head?
I have a feeling the guy who thinks he is getting a new head is going to be surprised because the other guy is really getting a new body- LOL

4-Jodi Arias trying to stop Juan's book. OMG For crying out loud. Juan needs to just release his book and send her a penny in prison for her royalties.

5-There is a good trial coming up in January but I don't know about it being televised. Its about a cop that went bizerk because he kicked his daughter out of house and took her to mission wanted her to come begging to come back home. She instead found good place to stay at boyfriends house and the father rushes over there and murders boyfriend and shoots at his own daughter and almost hits her. He also shot at the brother of the victim. The wife was an accessory after the fact. I hope a jury throws him in prison for a long time.

That's most of the main things I remember to talk about from the posts. Glad most everyone is doing well.

Hi Hatfield!
snipped My answers in red :D
Remember those Candy Dots on strips of paper like from an adding machine. You would rip off the candy colored dots and the paper came with it so you always had to eat a little paper with the dots. LOL
2.1-Licorice Pipes - Yes! Love licorice
2.2-Wax Soda Syrup bottles - Yep on this one too!
2.3-Wax Lips - of course! :)
2.4-Flying Saucer wafer with candy dots in the middle. The outside wafer saucer tasted like cardboard...LOL now here's one I've never heard of?!
2.5-Sting Licorice about 4 feet long and another of course - it's licorice! :giggle:
2.6-Ju Ju Bees at the movies!
2.7-Boston Baked Beans they have baked bean for candy??!!
2.8-Good Salt Water Taffy that came in those huge long strips of paper where you had to peel it off never had it; none of the left coast here, or else never saw it!
Do you remember the straws that had powdered candy in it! Love those - can't remember what their called... :waitasec: - the powdery stuff was like jello before you make it!

3- Surgery to transplant human head?
I have a feeling the guy who thinks he is getting a new head is going to be surprised because the other guy is really getting a new body- LOL
I think it's a guy (head) getting a new body - I believe I read he had multiple sclerosis. So the "guy" that is donating his body, without his head! Strange in deed! Is this guy that's donating his body going to be dead? or near death?

4-Jodi Arias trying to stop Juan's book. OMG For crying out loud. Juan needs to just release his book and send her a penny in prison for her royalties.
Too funny!

I remember that taffy. You could still buy it at M E Moses up until the eighties. There was also Big Hunks, candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars, and they still make atomic fireballs My father favorite orange slices.

I've seen you on some of the same cases that you have. Way too many babies are being killed.

We'd go to the teen dance on Friday night at the rec center. There were Baptist preachers there to make sure no one danced too close. We did the pony, the jerk, mashed potato, the Watusi, the swim, the twist and the most hated by the preachers - the dog.

I sat outside at nights with my am fm radio and would listen to music. I remember finding out that there was a fm radio that came on at dark each day, and it helped fill some long lonely days.

In the morning if it's clear you will be able to see Mars, Venus and Jupiter close together as the Moon flies past Jupiter on Friday and Saturday morning. The newspeople here say you can see four moons of Jupiter with a pair of binoculars.

and we have

There are several astronomical highlights that peak during the pre-dawn hours beginning with the South and North Taurid meteor shower. The Southern Taurids -- famed for its fireballs -- is expected to put on a show this weekend, according to EarthSky. The Taurids, Leonids and a Venus-Mars conjunction are just a few astronomy highlights for November.

Brilliant fireballs were seen flashing over Poland, Thailand, the UK and the United States signalling the start of the annual Taurid meteor showers.

and there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. "Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory.… Luke 21 - 26

I've seen you on some of the same cases that you have. Way too many babies are being killed.

Those are also some good ones I had forgotton about.
Niner remember lots of them too and YesNo remembered the name of the straws called "Pixie Stix". Those were great because the powder got everywhere and if you inhaled wrong then you would cough the powder on your friends. LOL

And the Pixie Stix straws were made of like a paper that got soggy if you folded it and tried to eat some later. LOL

I think that was what was so fun about the old candy was that it was "interactive". You had to battle to eat some of the candy. With the Wax Syrup Bottles, you had to bite off the end of the bottle and spit it on the ground and then while drinking the sticky syrup, it dripped all over your clothes. What FUN!!! LOL

The candy cigarettes were great. They had this paper wrapped around them so tight that you had to really work at it to peel the paper off the gum and it was like a reward if you ever got all the paper off. LOL

The kids these days are really getting ripped off as I have noticed the Halloween candy is getting smaller and smaller each year. They have these tiny miniature Tootsie Rolls, Hersheys, etc.
Back when we had Halloween, the Tootsie Rolls were like 6 inches long, and the 3 Muskateer Bars were so big they would ruin your lunch because you were so full after eating one.

I remember going trick or treating with Pillow Sacks to be able to hold all the candy and so the heavy bag would not rip out the bottom. LOL
I feel bad for the kids these days. I always tell them to grab handfuls from a large bucket of candy I offer them. They act scared to take too much but I try to tell them to take as much as they want. They bring these little tiny plastic pumpkin holders and I feel so bad for them because they just don't get as much candy as we used to get. :)

A Man With An IQ Of 67 Is Scheduled To Be Executed Tonight (Tuesday)

"On Tuesday night, an intellectually disabled man with a brain tumor will die by lethal injection in Missouri, for the murder of three convenience store workers in 1994. Unless the Supreme Court grants an eleventh-hour stay or the governor offers him clemency, Ernest Lee Johnson will become the seventh person the state has executed in 2015...

Attorneys have appealed the death penalty sentence on the grounds that his IQ of 67 is low enough that putting him to death is unconstitutional...

An Opinion: Ernest Johnson cannot be legally executed

"Tuesday evening, barring intervention from Gov. Jay Nixon or a court, Missouri will execute Ernest Johnson, a man with an IQ of 67. If allowed, Mr. Johnson’s execution will violate the Supreme Court’s ruling in 2002, Atkins v. Virginia, that the Constitution prohibits the execution of the intellectually disabled...

But because of his mental condition, Johnson cannot be legally executed. Prosecutors consistently have dismissed the significance of his disability and advocated for the death penalty. “To decide it’s more likely true than not that this guy is mentally retarded,” the prosecutor argued to a jury in 2005, “is an insult, an insult to these victims.”...

At trial, testing by both the prosecution and defense revealed Johnson had an IQ of 67, which is well within the range of intellectual disability. Johnson was born with the developmental consequences of fetal alcohol syndrome. In a series of IQ tests that began at age 8 and spanned decades, he scored below the threshold for intellectual disability six times..."

"Thomas Toivi Blatt, one of about 300 Jews who overwhelmed guards to escape a Nazi concentration camp in Poland and who decades later became a key witness at the trial of former guard John Demjanjuk, has died. He was 88.

Blatt had dementia, said Ruth Dubin Steinberg, a spokeswoman for Blatt's family. He died Saturday morning at his Santa Barbara home.

Well into his later years, Blatt spoke to audiences around the world about the atrocities he witnessed as a teenager at Sobibor. He wrote two books and consulted on the 1987 TV film "Escape From Sobibor."..."

Where’s the Enthusiasm for Windows 10?

"...Beginning in January, Microsoft will change its categorization of Windows 10 from an ‘Optional’ update to a ‘Recommended’ update. Depending on a user’s update Control Panel settings, the upgrade could take place automatically. It will be possible to intervene and stop the upgrade and Microsoft will continue to allow users to roll back to their systems if they don’t like or want Windows 10..."

Microsoft to discontinue Windows 7 and 8.1 next November

"Windows 7 has another year to go before it will no longer be preinstalled on new PCs.
Renai LeMay/ZDNet.com.au

Still want to buy a PC that comes with Windows 7 or 8.1 from the get-go? You've got less than a year.

Updated late October, Microsoft's "Windows lifecycle fact sheet" shows October 31, 2016, as the "end of sales for PCs with Windows preinstalled" for both Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8.1...

Users who want to continue running Windows 7 on their existing PCs need not worry. Extended technical support will be available until January 14, 2020, when you'll still be able to get security patches, bug fixes and other updates. The same type of support for Windows 8 will run until January 10, 2023.

Despite the extended deadline for Windows 7 and 8.1, Microsoft is heavily pushing Windows 10..."
