I would just like to say one thing about the people who are buying/reading Lawrence's book:

If they are not going to believe anything he writes, why bother reading the book? After all, these were his thoughts before the trial started and who's to say his thoughts were/are wrong (except him). I'm perplexed.

Sounds kinda dumb to me and I think they are wasting their $ :moo:

Sorry, but I have made those mistakes in spelling/spacing when I wrote them to my Word Pad and it was not Lawrence who spelled them incorrectly in his book.

The sections quoted are not copied and pasted as what I am copying from is an actual book and not a website on the internet. Since I type with 2 fingers  and I'm not a secretary or transcriber, I'm pretty bad at typing (and slow, too). And since I have gotten older, I tend to reverse the order of/add letters; my mind and fingers do not compute anymore. It's very frustrating to me. :( I do try to copy the exact words when I quote Lawrence's words, but I don't always succeed. I'm sorry as I try to be exact, but I'm just losing my brains as I age. I do go over what I have written also, but I don't always catch my mistakes. :scared:

And since the book does not easily stay open, I have to read the sentences, put the book down, and then type the words into the computer and there lies one of the difficulties for me as I'm not looking at the words as I type. So- many problems for me. (What my son could type in 5 minutes, will takes me 30 minutes. :sheesh: )

These notes were just originally for me, but I thought it would be nice for the SBers who were not buying the book, to have a small look-see into Lawrence's mind as I find it very interesting myself.

And for myself- yes- there are some errors in punctuation in the book that I have noticed, but I'm not reading the book to see what Lawrence's editor has done wrong. I'm interested in what Lawrence has to say, so I overlook the errors. :moo:

Sorry again. :blushing:

No need to apologize! That's why I started my post by saying I was "assuming" they were being copied and pasted. I realized there was the possibility they were not. As a graphic designer, I am sensitive to such errors, so they do stand out to me.

You, YorN, are simply posting information on an internet forum. Typos are to be expected; I have done more than my share.

But Nurmi self-published a book. He wants us to take him seriously and understand what he has to say. I'm having a hard time with that. If he lacks the discipline or interest to have his book properly edited and vetted, I wonder about his intellectual rigor in other areas. It all echoes back, and calls into question his integrity and credibility. JMO

I've been watching an interesting series on the History Channel, Thursday nights at 10PM. It's called Hunting Hitler and is about searching for him in Argentina. They believe he escaped Germany and went there with a bunch of Nazi's. They have found houses and other interesting spots deep in the jungle including German coins with swastikas and medicine bottles that may have belonged to him for his stomach problems. This episode is the 3rd in a series, but the other 2 are repeated if you wish to follow.

That does sound interesting. I find it hard to believe, but that was sooo far before definitive DNA evidence... so who knows?

After you watch some of it, it makes perfect sense to me. They say he, Eva and a bunch of others left Germany on a submarine. The evidence they show is overwhelming and I believe it to be very possible. The skull found in Germany, once believed to be Hitler's, turned out to belong to a female. Anyway - watch it. YoYo would really like it, too.

Okay, you've convinced me. I just checked my new cable provider and I DO have that channel, so I'll tune in. Thanks!

I pray all goes well Nore. My nephews girlfriend found out this morning that she has a malignant tumor in her colon. She's having surgery in the morning so we'll find out which way life leads us this time. She's been tried and getting over bronchitis, but kept getting weaker. They had to give her two pints of blood this past weekend, and she needs prayers and jingles.

OK----

Which one of you took a pic of me and posted it on-line????? :scared: Come on - out with it!!!!!

39 is still very young in my book. Phantom was one of the few stage plays I have seen and it fascinated me. I just recently broke my souvenir cup from that day. Sending prayers that the test brings good news, or the strength and endurance she will need to get through what lies ahead.

Darn it, Pages.... you have sure had more than your share of stressful issues to deal with. I send you many gentle hugs for being the special person you are. Jingles, prayers, and high hopes for the nephew's girlfriend are on the way.

See y'all tomorrow. :offtobed: :bedtime:

Good Morning!! Wishing everyone a beautiful day filled with sunshine and laughter :grouphug: :loveyou:

Sooooo...what is everyone's plans for Turkey Day? And what are you thankful for this year?

We are going my daughters, be the first time in years since I have not had it and for that I am THANKFUL :)

CoffeeJ, you better tell us what that weird pic is .... some kind of potato?

Our Thanksgiving will be simple. We aren't big on Turkey or ham, and with my teeth right now I need soft foods still. Pot pies, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, candied yams ..... and Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Turtle pie.

American Pie by Don McLean

Did I win anything?

Oh, I should have known that. That's the first record I bought. I was about 11 years old, my parents couldn't afford giving the 4 of us pocket money so I delivered magazines that people had subscribed throughout the village. They had to pay me and I had to do the accounting and pay the company.
I had to fight with nervous dogs and drunken farmers and was VERY afraid of an elder lady that seemed a witch to me and she always wanted me to come into her gloomy cottage...
But I was always very proud when I realized what I had earned at the end of the week.
Good memories...
