GUYS! Just heard from the jury foreman that, indeed, they had agreed to enforcing the DP BEFORE they got to see the defendant. I wondered.

People probably walked into that court and thought "Crap, I have to send a young woman to death if warranted?"

DP: too archaic, too expensive, too controversial.

Put her in a glass jar and study her, learn from her, maybe even fix her. Release her? No.

I read that the guy who killed all those people in Norway? 21 years. I wonder if they rehabilitate him over those years before releasing him back into society? His release is up for discussion at the time, but still? 77 people dead: 21 years.

The world is an odd place.

I don't know that some can be rehabilitated. I don't think JA or Norway guy can. Sorry, I used to think everyone could be, until I spent nearly 20 years working in the criminal law system. It becomes clear who can be helped and who cannot. No way to describe how or why, you just figure it out over time.

Lovin all the Motown! Yeah...that's what I'm talking about.

Ummm...do we still all get to hang out together? Sometimes? I'm not ready to say goodbye to everybody...

I ain't goin' nowhere ( said in my Kansas twang ). If you don't see me over here in Travis' place, I'll be over in Andrea Sneiderman's area. She's the next killer that needs to go down--even though she didn't actually pull the trigger :seeya:

I liked the idea of putting JA in a jar :giggle:

Let us just say, that some countries have unusual medical study methods, and body slices in acrylic substance are not impossible.

Love it, keep them coming, I love finding stuff I haven't seen.

Especially some of the newer (to me) singers/musicians. I did not know CeeLo was part of Gnarls Barkley until recently (I know, duh).

And did not know Bruno Mars wrote "F You" for CeeLo (and a bunch of other songs for other singers). For some of you who have been around since sidebar 2, I posted an appearance by Bruno on Graham Norton where I found that out.

In case you missed it first time around. :)

Yay, I am a big Tom Waits fan! I remember when my husband first introduced me to him, I though, what a freak! This may have even been one of the first songs I heard.

But I have grown to love him.

I posted "Hold On" a few threads back, but didn't seem like at the time there were any others into that.

Here's another of my favorites, a duet with Bette Midler.

Hi there Chester, so good to see you! I never had a chance to reply to you in the other thread re your romantic Interview With the Vampire story - your husband sounds quite wonderful!

I agree with you about Prince! And do you mean the young guitarist? If so, that's George Harrison's son... that must have been so meaningful for him.

This is for you:

Thank you Darling Vivian! He really is a peach.

So cool to find out that is George's son.

Lol. Guess I'm weird, I had neighbors request it once they heard me play it.

Waits used to just do stand up. That is not my fave song, I like the older music. He did a great job acting in "Dracula".

Was it his first album that had "ice cream man"? That album was really good!
