I feel the same way. Gino Vannelli, oh my gosh I had completely forgotten about him!

Music can so quickly take you back in time and you remember so much about what you were doing throughout your life.

In my first year of college, I was really getting into Jazz, I guess now you'd call it 'smooth jazz'. I listened to Bob James and Stanley Turrentine and Pat Methany and Ramsey Lewis and David Sanborn and Earl Klugh, among many others.

The only semi-famous connection I have, is that my boyfriend's sister was married to the keyboardist for Earl Klugh at the time.

:)

I got into jazz in junior High School, bought my first Rhodes because of this particular tune.

I have admittedly skipped some pages today, but so far, have not seen any Tom Waits. He is an acquired taste, but I hope you will give him a try.

One of my favs:
Tom Waits "Hold On" - YouTube

If you knew some of the songs he has written for other singers, you would be amazed.

Anyone remember the poignant version of "Ol' 55" from the movie sung by Sarah McLachlan from the movie "Boys on the Side"

Or some of you may think of this as an Eagles song.

Ol' '55 - Eagles. - YouTube

It is Tom's song.

Lttle bit o trivia. Alison Krauss (and her brother Victor) lived in my house for a summer once...as their dad is one of my dad's best friends. We all grew up together. Her dad,Fred, testified in our cases and at the latest appeal. :(. He's having a health issue right now so my Dad is headed over to see him ina couple weeks. They live out on a large property with as he says "lots of crazy goats". Now I'll scroll back. In bed on my iPad so I can't see most videos wah. Not ready to get up...I'm pretty sure I dreamed I was stuck in an elevator w Kirk Nurmi and a disco ball last night. It was terrifying.i

Holy cuhrap! I love this song!!! Once I get out of bed I'm gonna listen to it...twice!

Oh wow, they were one of my first concerts!!! Wow, I'm having flashbacks, awesome!!!!!
