I wonder if that one was drafted in preparation for her arrival :floorlaugh: It makes no sense as you point out. I assumed they were operating on forgiveness as well. They are a scary group. You know my thoughts have been as to what MCA may do to this Family and/or Congregation. It just dawned on me if this Pastor isn't operating with all oars perhaps FCA has met her match.

I've been wondering if OCA can be brain washed considering the "disorder" she has. Or has she been learning how to con and cheat people better just watching these people.

:seeya:I believe you can go to the head of the class now:rocker: Money talks and BS walks. Let's turn to our songbooks now and we can have 2 song selctions, I Surrender All followed by Thank God and Greyhound She's Gone.
Can I say that without getting into trouble? Just trying to lighten the mood for the day:seeya: I can delete if not acceptable, thanks.

:great: :D :floorlaugh:

Here’s an insight as to why she chose George as the scapegoat.....she HATES him

“I miss them so much. My brother is talking about coming to see me. I can’t say that I would turn down that visit. I kept it together when I read my Mom’s letter, but now, I’m not doing so well. My mom isn’t sure if she and my Dad are going to stay together AFTER HEARING/WATCHING HIS INTERVIEW WITH THE FBI...FU__ (she writes that in all caps). I’m sorry, I had to vent....I hate being sad, and I hate feeling so damn helpless. I’ll be home ina few weeks, because I can’t take this.

Did Casey really write this? I'm out of the loop a bit. too busy at work. Is this current like she's going home to hopespring in the near future?

Yup. Anyone with the money, resources, personality , and werewithal can start a church or a place of religious worship. No education needed. Their success would depend on their ability to lead or to get people to "believe in them" and create a loyal flock.

In my opinion, this is how some preachers and pastors come to be. It is all about magnetic personalities and charisma (for better or worse) and has very little to do with having studied theology in any academic way.

No offense intended to anyone, but in my opinion, that is the gist of what I would see as the darker side of religion. There are always people that are ready to believe and people that are more than ready and willing to capitalize on that blind faith.

There is a lot of money and attention in it for the preacher/pastor and some (not all) are nothing more than snake oil salesmen. I'm not saying that his guy is or isn't but from what I am reading on his website regarding his church, I consider him a controlling extremist. (Every religion has them) And if there is one thing in the world I do not trust and am suspicious of it is an extremist. That applies to any extremist in any context and not just religion.

I would not be so quick to believe that this guy is innocently trying to "save" her or is so pious that he can see past what she has been accused of. He is getting something out of risking his reputation by hiding her there. It could be sex, a book deal, it could be money, it could even be aspirations of future fame.
Whatever it is, I am not inclined to believe that it comes from a place of enlightenment. I know my opinion sounds cynical but I am just not buying it for one second.

I agree with all of your post but the bold in particular. Yes, there are some bad ones out there. In Louisiana, we had one (who I will not name) that had a huge huge compound in Baton Rouge. That was until he was caught driving up and down a well known highway by the airport trying to pick up hookers.

Now it sits almost vacant, some buildings filled with State employees.

That's just one example and I don't think your opinion sounds cynical at all.

You wanted SNEEZES... you got SNEEZES. Along with a whole lotta CRAZY.
This must be the first reference about the messages from God to Casey.

Letter to BFF Cookie:

...No matter how I feel, I get so much satisfaction from a good beat, or powerful lyrics. Peace. Memories. I look at my pictures of Caylee so many times throughout the day and can’t help but smile at my little Rock Star. I miss her, more than I can ever express in words. Somedays the tears just won’t end, and others, I cant stop giggling and sighing and smiling because of her beautiful smile, big hazel eyes and the belly laugh that still remains in my ear. (I just sneezed my confirmation from God. :) I’ve been doing that a lot lately. Very rarely do I just “sneeze” anymore. It tends to follow a thought, action or spoken word-prayer, praise, even the occasional joke. Rarely can I blame my whacky allergies on them. One of the few things I actually like the cold weather for it stiffles my allergy attacks. I do like wearing cute boots and a leather jacket. And hats. Mittens. I want a leather bomber jacket......
(AND FADE INTO A WHOLE BUNCH OF CRAZY....)

I'll post more sneezy stuff as I find it. Stay tuned.

Yes she wrote it. And no it wasn't at the end of her jail stay it was at the beginning. She thought she would get out many, many times on JB's brilliant "Motions to Dismiss"....crapola

Mary Ann - these are old jailhouse letters released on doc dumps. I'm just self-theraputizing myself.

Thanks Bayou! I appreciate that. It's just that religion can be such a charged and sticky topic and I wanted to be careful to not hurt or offend anyone with my opinions. I try to respect the religious views of others as I believe that they should have the freedom and self-determination to believe in whatever it is that they want to believe in. I would never want to come off condescending in any way.

OMG. There's a new girl in our IT department, apparently installing a program on my boss's computer (a program the IT department they are rolling out), and my boss says her name is Casey! Freaky! And it just came up on my computer too!

Quoting my own post. It's actually a cool little instant chat program that we can even do webcam with. My boss mentioned webcam and I laughed out loud, LOL. Hmmm, I think Casey might be in OK working for DRS!

ETA: different last name, thank GOD.

I just wanted to bring this post forward again because it makes so much sense to me. This looks like something JB set up with his buddy JLyons and it just might have worked if not for those "unedited" videos and pictures leaking out showing that KC has not changed a bit. I bet they did ask her to make personal video blogs as part of the media deal they were going to market. It appears as though that first one was her attempt at being all quiet and introspective...you know, learning valuable lessons from her new found spiritual journey. But of course it was just an attempt...that would be a tough one for her to pull off. But then the subsequent ones that got released seemed to be a show for her admirerers. And somehow those admirerers got a hold of them, plus pictures and sent them out to the WWW. If this is the case no wonder JB was so mad and appears to have left the scene.

MOO
Can't help but think that by her doing all this, wasn't in some way to get an early release from her probation, you know, for 'security reasons'? And then this closed hearing happened, the Judge ruled and the information was put out to the media, so now, even more of a reason to cause havoc. She might be trying on purpose to run scared, once again try to run away from the problems that always surround her or that she causes, which seems to be quite a bit. ACK:banghead:!

I think churches of all kind are coming under much more scrutiny than they used to be, particularly since we found out how many pedophiles have been sheltered, protected and moved around to avoid prosecution.. they are not above inspection or honest criticism.

Echo right back to you. I mean no disrespect to anyone but there are good ones and bad ones. We don't know which category he fits in, yet.

Yep, I've been to that Bible College, Jimmy Swaggart, right? Went there for a retreat at the Baptist church I used to go to. It's kind of eerie, so empty now. How far he has fallen.

Thank you! Whew.... I was thinking that CA was going to throw GA out and take "baby killer" back. Which wouldn't surprise me one bit if it really did happen. I was feeling bad for GA thinking my gosh hasn't he been through enough???

Yes, that's it. Yes, my son works for the State and used to be in that building. Now he is downtown BR.

Narcissism and sociopathy can be behind it, the need for power and constant adoration. Who gives that more than a flock of loyal followers that could be "admonished" and thrown out of the community at anytime for transgressions that he has outlined from his perception of the bible.

Whatever it is, I am not inclined to believe that it comes from a place of enlightenment. I know my opinion sounds cynical but I am just not buying it for one second.

Yes. I believe a true minister is one who has spent 4 years of his life in a college learning how to minister his faith and certainly not of someone who did not want to invest their time and energy but decided to jump right in. How do you do a professional job without the educational background.

I think that anyone who counsels should have a proper education and should be certified, and not an online certificate, not just draw on their own life experience. jmo
