photos of RED JEEP posted upthread - could be considered maroon?
George was driving the dark green Toyota 4-Runner on the night he went to Ashton's party and congratulated him.

Speaking of Dr. Phil. Supposedly, he was going to donate money to the non-profit, but I don't know if it was ever approved. Wonder if the approval got caught up in the IRS tea party scandal. I, and most everyone else, would like to know what happened to the Dr. Phil donation.

That is a question we all would like answered. It seems like they are spending that money right in front of our noses, and no-one is doing anything about it. I even sent a tweet to Kathi Belich asking why no-one is inquiring about it. Obviously someone is supporting the felon. I just don't understand how someone can start a charity, get hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations, not spend any of it on actual charitable causes, then drain all the money out and close the foundation. And do it all in the public eye?
The media has jumped on every little thing that has happened with this case, but they don't seem to want to even mention this. I don't get it.

PEOPLE magazine also published an article stating that $600,000 was donated to the charity by Dr. Phil show.

Zenaida's civil attorneys Morgan & Morgan filed Interrogatories on Casey Anthony asking about MONEY she has received from Dr. Phil, or ABC, and the Caylee Fund.

The Anthony's attorney, Mark Lippman, published statements saying the Dr. Phil donation would go to the Caylee charity fund - which the Anthonys are officers of.

Sneak Peek of George and Cindy Anthony Interview on Dr. Phil's Season Premiere
Airing Sept. 13, 2011
Multiple sources said the Anthony's attorney, Mark Lippman, was shopping the interview for a six-figure payment. He has previously said any money would benefit the new CayleesFund.org -- not the Anthonys.
The show's producers said the Anthonys requested a donation to CayleesFund.org.
"This much we do know: Dr. Phil's people are paying money to the charity. What's done from there, we don't know," People Magazine writer Steve Helling said.

Helling said Lippman had been shopping the interview for a mid-six-figure asking price.
"I don't think it would be under $100,000, and I don't think it would be over $500,000. I just don't think so," Helling said.

Lippman could not be reached for comment, but in his most recent interview, he said the money would go toward the foundation's efforts to advocate for missing children and grandparents' rights. The Anthonys will be part of that foundation.

How much did Dr. Phil McGraw pay to a charity set up by George and Cindy Anthony?
That question has floated out there since the parents of Casey Anthony appeared on the season premiere of “Dr. Phil” in September.
People magazine reports that the figure was $600,000.
The magazine offers the information in ”The Strange Lonely Life of Casey Anthony.” The article is timed to the first anniversary Thursday of Anthony’s acquittal of murder in the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee.
WESH-Channel 2’s Bob Kealing reported that George and Cindy’s attorney Mark Lippman wouldn’t confirm the figure in the People article, but Lippman said the Caylee’s Fund charity was dissolved Friday and $100,000 in it had been distributed to three other foundations.
Still, Kealing noted that People reports the “Dr. Phil” money has gone to support Casey Anthony.

I wish just one of these people who call themselves 'Investigative Journalists' would investigate what happened to the Caylee fund.
I don't know if this money is untraceable once the fund was emptied,or why
no one seems motivated to do a story on this....?

Maybe they were waiting for the Zenaida attorneys to take the Deposition of FCA, and ask her, under oath, if she got money from the Caylee charity?
The Deposition got delayed and then put on hold when she filed bankruptcy.

After all that, there is not a definitve answer as to how much, where paid, when paid, if paid, how much expended and what was it expended for.

Personally, I don't think the charity was approved by IRS as a non-profit. There was paperwork sent to the atty. that filed for NP for more information. Wonder if he ever returned the paperwork.

Yes, agree - a whole lot of talk with zero facts or answers. Still waiting...almost a year later....

Mod question:

Why are we sleuthing George and Cindy? Why the cars and license plates?

Granted, I've only checked in her when I had time. The Arias forum and a couple others have taken the BULK of any online time, but I am having a hard time understanding the relevance of sleuthing CAYLEE'S grandparents at this point. They've kept a VERY low profile since the trial, to the best of my knowledge. Or have I missed something major?

I need a reason, folks. A GOOD reason.

Thanks.

"Caylee's grandparents?" You mean George and Cindy? The most famous, perjurying parents on the planet? Who assisted a slimey attorney in helping their daughter go free? Their actions post trial will always be watched and be relevant...as is their "consciousness of
guilt" daughter. Since she was so unbelie ably acquitted (with
the help of poor Caylee's gparents) her and her complicit parents will always be sleuthed (because, of course, there is more to the rest of the story)

We have been talking about the $600K that Dr Phil paid to Cindy and George for their interview - he paid it into the Caylee Fund, a publicly listed charitable fund, supposedly set up to help locate missing children. Once that money was deposited by Dr Phil, the Anthonys closed it down and their attorney claimed they gave around $100K IIRC to other similar charities. What I and other WS'ers would like to know is, what happened to that money?

Well what I would first see is some kind of written proof or a statement from someone legit in the Dr. Phil camp as to how much was actually paid to the "charity" and then to exactly what "charity".

Once we had that confirmed legitimately rather than by a bunch of rumor chasing media affiliates looking to make a name for themselves by theorizing in the press - we'd know the next questions to be asked. Wouldn't we?

Oh, I'm sure the staff of the Dr Phil show or the Anthonys aren't going to willingly divulge the exact amount that was paid . IIRC People magazine's Steve Helling was the first to report the value of the 'donation'. I doubt he would be willing to give us his sources. As many times as I have seen the $600K quoted in print,in the Orlando Sentinel among others, I have yet to see a denial from Dr Phil or the Anthonys as to the amount.... What we do know for a fact is that once the money was deposited, the fund was closed down.

BTW- this is the Sidebar- I have always understood that theorizing and discussing reports of all kinds were standard in this section- if the only discussions we can have need to be based on links and factual reports nothing would get sleuthed in this thread.

Thank you!
My questions are related to the Dr. Phil donation to the charity, which the Anthony's attorney Lippman, acknowledged did happen, and how that CHARITY money has been used.
I remember that George and Cindy had their home in FORECLOSURE just before they went on the Dr. Phil show.
After the Dr. Phil show, and the donation to their Charity - they had loads of money to remodel their home, and had new cars.

Did the Anthonys use the charity money to buy themselves a new red Jeep?
To buy FCA a new cranberry colored Chev HHR?
Whose name are the Anthony vehicles registered in?
Why does Cindy's green Toyota 4-Runner have a different license plate on it, than the plate that it is registered under? Is this car in someone else's name?

Are Cindy and George helping FCA hide assets [a car] from the bankruptcy court?

I believe that all monies associated with a Charity should be public knowledge, yet in the case of the Anthony's Charity, they are resistant to full disclosure. Why?

There are several classifications of NFPs. 501c3 are suppossed to be public knowledge and anyone is supposed to be able to view the tax return info submitted to IRS. I don't think IRS approved the applications for NP.

Not only resistant, but their attorney was quite cocky about concealing the information.
When Morgan and Morgan stated they were going to try and discover the disposition of the charity's assets Mr Lippman said "Good luck".
It's all just a game to them. How is anyone to know if FCA is given a bucket of cash each month?

And my understanding of websleuths discussions is that we provide links of fact to statements we make - and theorizing based on facts such as the docs we studied closely preceding and during the trial. I believed this was what set us apart and above other "like" websites.

I also thought if we were simply speculating based on tweets or online gossip, we needed to take care to say our points were "unconfirmed".

Do we know if they actually bought those vehicles or did they simply lease them? Or did someone lease them for the Anthonys?

And we know in late May,2010, the Bank of America re-wrote their mortgage and their house was no longer in foreclosure a year before the appearance on Dr. Phil.
