In any case, what is it people think their telephone records would have revealed?
Possibility: calls to a lawyer before the 911 call.

This is my first post here (I have been a long time lurker). I went to the old websleuths site and was reading through when this comment from thelmadawg caught my attention.julianne said:Here is a cached page of the old Websleuths with lots of comments/posts regarding the possible Anthony Shore/JonBenet connection. It's good reading! Very interesting......I, too, would love to know where he was back in 1996. I was going to search online for Boulder County Court Cases just to see if he had any civil or criminal record there, but it's a pay site & I'm not going to pay.
Anyway, here's the link.

There you go spinning again. I never said the DA signs off on a search warrant. I said, and I repeat, that the DA, especially in a high profile case such as this, okays the the going to the Judge for a supoena. He specifically told Steve Thomas that there was not enough cause to arrest them. And lets not forget that Steve Thomas was not allowed to testify before the Grand Jury.snowqueen said:Of course you get records from the telephone company, but the implication yesterday was that the Ramseys should have provided those records or that they and the DA were instrumental in the records not being provided.
Did you see the conversation yesterday about the fact that police officers get search warrants from judges - not from DAs?
And, I'm still not sure that local telephone numbers were recorded in 1996. Long distance numbers, yes. But for local calls only the total number of minutes was recorded - if I am not mistaken.
snowqueen said:I doubt the telephone company would have released the records without a search warrant as a matter of policy. However, the Ramseys could have requested copies of their "records" and turned them over to LE. Do we know that LE asked the Ramseys for copies of the records?
And, again I don't think local calls were recorded by the telephone in 1996 - just the minutes of use, i.e., for purposes of billing measured local service.
In any case, what is it people think their telephone records would have revealed?

Regarding the original thread subject, a couple of similar cases come to mind as being similar at least in some aspects to the JBR murder case. One is the Jaclyn Dowaliby (also discussed on this forum).
The other, I just heard part of, and I was hoping someone else remembered it. It was on A&E's Cold Case Files. A young girl was raped and strangled to death in her own bedroom while her parents slept in the room next door! This crime was solved in 2004 or 05 I think - 15 years after the crime!
I find this interesting because, first, it gives hope that the JBR case may still be solved and, second, it would have spanned the time of JBR's murder.
Anyone else familar with this case?

The step dad and mom were charged, mom got not guilty, dad got conviction but it was later reversed. I didn't know all of this.

You're not referring to the other case in Boulder, I know, where a 14-yr old girl from the same dance school (Dance West) as JonBenet was acosted in her room, but her mother heard something and came with Mace. The intruder jumped from their balcony. Her father was out of town at the time, and if I remember correctly their alarm was either not on, or the intruder came in via the balcony. but there were no footprints in the frost on JonBenet's balcony, according to ST.
it was on unsolved mysteries, but he took the girl from her bed and raped and killed her somewhere else.It was portrayed in the movie that way, too.He took her wrapped up in the comforter that was on her bed.Alexi said:Hi all - first time poster here.

that's ok,I respect your opinion, but there isn't any evidence against the parents in the JD case;not so with the JB case, starting with that ridiculous long-winded rambling ransom note, which I think PR should have just signed , 'Love,Patsy',not to mention the pineapple, and so on.Alexi said:Hi JMO,
I respectfully disagree - the differences in the Jaclyn Dowaliby are not all that great in so far as any of us knows. Neither crime has been solved - the Dowalibys and the Ramseys could still both be guilty. Or they may all be innocent.
ok,I misunderstood then. The crime you from Unsolved Mysteries is not the same second crime I heard about. This was on Cold Case Files, and the girl was definitely molested/raped and strangled in her bedroom. I just wish I had been listening more closely.
yea, that's it !!SuperDave said:Or they were being advised by the big guys.
