Snowqueen: The fact that John was making arrangements to leave the area 20 minutes after the finding of the body is just cold, period. He wants to get his family out of town; he also let Berke leave the house the morning of the 26th when JB was missing at approximatley 7:30 a.m. Would you do that or would you keep your son with you, among friends and police for his safety.

Lets not forget the fact that PP took out the Ramsey's PASSPORTS when she raided the house on the premise of getting "funeral clothes". Ummm....now, why would they need their passports?

You cannot STOP families from going to the morgue IF they want to go. If only to wait outside the autopsy/examination room, to find out information about how the victim died. Now, if the mom and/or dad already KNEW how their daughter died...of course there wouldn't be any need to go, now would there?

To find out how she died? Do you honestly think the coroner was going to tell them anything they didn't already know, i.e., that it appeared she had been strangled. Do you think he would divulge information that would be used in a criminal investigation?

Because they once vacationed in another country and need to go there to group up with family and mourn? Anything to get away from those terribly nosy investigators and all their questions! The Ramseys are rich, can't you see that? They deserve treatment above and beyond that which is given to the rest of us mere citizens - they're on Valium! They can't be expected to answer any questions about anything for months or even years. In fact, they're so wealthy and so stoned and so Christian - let's give them a free pass for everything for the rest of their lives.

Yep, he would have told them some things....not everything though. And so what if he couldn't have told them a couple of things (which he could).....if it were you, would you leave your child's dead body, even for a second. I would have either been IN the car that was driving her to the morgue, or in a car behind that car.....regardless....I would have been there for her.

Right on! (Group up with family ...in another country....and mourn.....thats funny). They were treated with kid gloves....(the kind made for infants....;) ).

And I don't think this continued rage toward the Ramseys is going to solve the case either. JMO
It's all relative, though, right? You see us as raging at the Ramseys, and I see you as coming here from CTV just to make waves. Maybe we're both wrong.

They claim to have not known about the blow to the head....he would have told them about that. When my cousin was shot to death, her family went to the morgue...and was told some things about the condition of the body.

along with the personal mementos ...that esp. spelled to me that they had no intention of coming back,if they had decided to leave.I beleive a talk with their attorneys convinced them that wasn't necessary,at least not yet.

BTW,I think they had no intention of ever going to prison anyway...in DOI,the R's said they didn't have a plan to return home(when they left for Co.,during the GJ investigation),b/c they didn't think they were ever going to be able to.My opinion on that is,had they been indicted, they had plans to flee the country instead..which they were more concerned with.

Do we know that the Ramsey specifically asked for their passports or were the passports in with other papers they might have asked for?

In any event I can see them asking for the passports and other mementos because they knew it might be a while before they were allowed back in their home.

Snowqueen. I think the passports were in with John's golfclubs and it was just a stroke of good luck for the Ramseys.

Now, now. Some people will take this as the truth and the next thing you know it will pop up on another thread. :hand:

Just a little aside.....if I'm not mistaken the autopsy did not being until a little after 8:00 a.m. on the 27th. Do you think they should have sat at the morgue all night? And who exactly should have been there? John, Patsy, Burke, John Andrew, Melinda?

Well, that would be their fault for misunderstanding then. Solace said "I think", therefore stating it as her opinion. It's not her fault if someone else reads it and takes it as truth and posts it elsewhere.

It's not so much thinking they should hang out at the morgue for all hours as much as thinking perhaps JR should not have been arranging a flight out of Boulder just 20 minutes after he had found his child's body. I can't believe he didn't realize that police were going to want to talk to them - in fact, I think he did, and that's why he had legal counsel in place by 7 pm on the 26th.

You are spinning here Snowqueen. Why do you feel the need to do that. This subject was dealing with the fact that John was on the phone within 20 minutes of finding JB to make plans to leave the City. You already have everyone feeling he should have sat at the morgue all night and into the next day through the autopsy. That is spinning SQ.

No one here is saying that. We are simply saying his actions are at the very least "cold" and out of the norm for a what a parent who JUST found their daughter would do. This is a murder investigation after all and when someone as close to the victim as the parents makes plans to leave the City 20 minutes after finding the body, those actions need to be looked at. If you were the police, would you not look at that?

Can you answer my questions this time please?

So you want to talk about John trying to make arrangements to go to Atlanta. Makes sense to me. His daughter was dead. The police were on the scene. He wanted to pull his family together and there were fewer of them to go to Atlanta than the number of people who would have had to fly from Atlanta to Boudler. Flying was a way of life for the Ramseys.

With regard to his legal counsel, I believe one of their friends who happened to be at the Stines (?) stepped in and offered to "handle" things for them. Perfectly acceptable - IMO - since everyone knows you shouldn't talk to LE w/o legal representation.

Spinning? What about? The fact that the autopsy was not performed until the following morning. Here you go........

The remainder of my post I believe was a question to Ames.

And I have absolutely nothing to say to you about pineapple wallpaper and in the context I referred to "pw" I owe you nothing.:slap:
I'm just asking for a link...I searched for discussion about that pineapple wallpaper seven ways from Sunday, using different words to try to find something. I came up with nothing other than the NE article, even though I know I read about it over at FFJ. You said you found places where they were discussing it, and I asked for a link because I'd really like to read what other people had to say about it. Based on the way you refuse to provide a link even though one was requested and it's information about the case, and based on the fact that I could find nothing in my own search despite different wordings, I really have to wonder if you ever found anything at all, and if so, why you're so adamantly reluctant to post a link.

What do you mean by "pw"? That confused me...
