I just got a KSL text saying that the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 charges were dropped...the judge said that sp didn't pose the kids so charges didn't stand...voyeurism charges still in

This makes me so angry! I don't think I will be able to follow along with this trial.

I doubt he picked the tie. Someone who DOES pay attention to clothing and how their client appears in court (i.e. an attorney) DID. And they do know purple is associated with DV.

I am not trying to be argumentative here, but I have a question. You say the attorney knew that purple is associated with DV. He gave SP a purple tie to wear. Is the purple tie supposed to change SP's image somehow? Do you think the average person knows that purple is the color for DV?

I think SP's attorneys probably read blogs, newspaper comments, facebook, and yes, even Websleuths to get an idea of what people are thinking. Anyone who has followed this case closely from the beginning would know that purple is the representative color for DV and also Susan's favorite color. They were plastering it all over WVC and even the gated community SP lives in until they were forced to take it down by the HOA.

If this is a coincidence, then it only means his attorneys are not doing their job thoroughly.

sp is hanging by the skin of his teeth; his defense team will do anything they have to do. :)

The irony is, in the Trib link, the tie is a design with purple in it, I guess the reporter stretched or it is a different court day. Usually sp wears orange and pink to court. :D

Personally, I hope he sings to the jury.

steve rockin that jailhouse haircut. :D

From a revelation that Steve Powell once admitted he’d been out of control sexually nearly his entire life to a judge’s decision to throw out a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 charge filed against the man, the first day of trial for the father-in-law of missing Utah woman Susan Powell included a heavy dose of courtroom drama.

Steve Craig Powell faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison on each of 15 counts against him.

If Powell is convicted on all counts, the judge could order him to serve consecutive sentences for a total of 75 years in prison.

Now the judge must decide if jurors still being selected to hear 14 remaining counts of voyeurism can consider journal entries in which Powell wrote he is a voyeur and detailed his sexual interest in his daughter-in-law.

I've been reading since February, but today is my first post. For those without Twitter accounts, you can view livestreams of #stevePowell tweets and find other archived media about Steven Powell's criminal trial for voyerism (child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 charge removed) at this Seattle News website: http://seattle.nozzl.com/disappearance-of-susan-cox-powell-and-trial-of-steven-powell/

Not all reporters and other tweeters are using the #stevePowell tag for all of their tweets, but you get most breaking news from court that way.

Welcome Erik28! Thanks for the website. Now I won't have to do so many Google searches looking for info.

Have you seen this site? http://www.scribd.com/doc/92901743/Steven-Powell-trial-declaration-regarding-items-seized Court documents. Graphic. I feel for the people who had to view those videos.

Sick, sick, sick. I can't be the only one to wonder if he isn't the one who did something to Susan.

Nope, you most certainly are not...

This trial will be interesting. The judge gutted most of the State's case, looks like.

Just because pervy likes to gratify himself and look at 🤬🤬🤬🤬 is not going to be enough to send him to where he belongs.

The Case Archive is updated with todays court info and pics:

I hope the prosecution has all the proof they need on the voyeurism charges...and sentences him to the max. He's not only a perv, but he violated the privacy of others for that perversion. It's a psychological rape, imo, and I hope the courts don't forget that!!! :jail:

I don't understand not letting the pics of SP into the case, they are considered voyeurism too! I think it's to protect Susan, but that's not helping the charges stick and bring justice for Susan. :banghead:

Tacoma, Wash. • Steve Powell, the father-in-law of missing Utah woman Susan Powell, scored another victory Tuesday when a judge barred discussion of most of his sexually-explicit journals.
Judge Ronald E. Culpepper said eight journal entries, in which Steve Powell discussed his obsession with his daughter-in-law and sex fantasies, were irrelevant to the case and could make jurors biased against Steve Powell.

"This is all about stalking Susan," Culpepper said of one entry that Powell wrote about taking photos of his daughter-in-law in the driveway.

Well, then? Does Washington have a stalking law? Let's see them charge him with that next! :banghead:
