Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
Does it strike anyone as strange that no one could tell if the white pickup was a Ford or Chevy? It is not a huge 'thing' to ponder but, (as someone who once lived in Oklahoma) most everyone falls into the "Ford Pickup is what I drive" or the "Chevy pickup is what I drive" kind of attitude. For people to not have id'ed the type of truck seems strange to me. Again, it is not a huge thing but an unusual occurrence.
What could this tell of the witness? Were they so frightened / intimidated by what they may have stumbled upon that they just got out of there ASAP. Seems unlikely since the composite sketch was so detailed. Maybe the witness was a young person who doesn't pay attention to such things? Again, unlikely since so many young people are fascinated by automobiles and pick up trucks. Or lastly, perhaps the witness saw the truck from the front and did not have the opportunity to view the tailgate and see if it was marked Chevy or Ford. Maybe the witness (es) were to intimidated to turn around and take a 2nd look at what they had seen with the POi and the strange way the pick up was parked in the road.
On my lunch hour, I followed a thread from this site that led me to a (journalistic) article that stated the POI had a "long pony tail that was tucked underneath the baseball hat". This was a first for me to read a description with that detail about the pony tail being tucked under the hat. It seemed in all references, it was stressed that the POI had a very long pony tail. Which honestly, is not such a big deal because at this point, he has probably cut it off. I am sorry that I do not have time to backtrack on the previous pages to find the link but, If it is needed I will try to do that later this evening.
I wish I could stay and read all the follow up responses but, it is time for me to be a responsible adult that has priorities and not be a crime enthusiast that could be on the Websleuths for hours at a time. I'll be back later tonight~
