has someone already posted the link to the friend of Terri speaking out again?
http://www.katu.com/news/local/96769584.html?tab=video
I have a bunch to say on it.
first.... she says she went to the gym because she needed to to keep herself healthy and focused.
OK. I know this isn't the same, but when my daughter was a baby she got cancer. I was terrified for her. About 3 days in I saw my sister who reminded me that I had not eaten. I couldn't even think about myself in that situation... I was so worried about my child. (who is now healthy. thank god)
Another thing the friend said was that all the online talk was damaging. It is not damaging if there is no truth to the accusations. If she has no role in it, she should not have any fear that these comments could damage her innocence.
Can we stop using words like hideous and venom to define posts of those with differing opinions? There are several people doing this. I am sure that everyone here cares about Kyron.
He hasn't confirmed or denied anything in weeks. He is just sticking to his pattern, and while some may believe that his statement can be read to mean the cell phone ping story is true, it is absolutely as easy to read his statement to mean the cell phone ping store is NOT true!
The story about cell phone pings was published on a page of WW that is clearly labeled as a blog. It's in the addy!!
Bingo. (And... most of their awards are for investigative reporting.)
Notice that when Gates was asked about Terri's cell phone pings, he didn't deny it. He just said "I don't control what papers report." If it wasn't true, he would have said it wasn't. Instead he dodges the question.
Respectfully, I disagree. False accusations are damaging and people falsely accused have won huge settlements or judgments. ,.....
We are a social, gregarious species. Being accused of something so heinous as the murder of a child denies that individual the human comfort of acceptance.
I believe they said the last person to see Kyron...so unless she saw him with someone else, it amounts to the same thing.
I didn't say the paper was a blog. Just that article is on a page described by the paper as a blog.
BBM
There are four parents involved here. Why are the other three not being crucified as well? Why not post hideous accusations against grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings? None of them have done this... so why is it just TH being raked 'cross the coals?
Something that has confused me from the start....
I believe they said the last person to see Kyron...so unless she saw him with someone else, it amounts to the same thing.
That is the point. Instead of denying it - which if it wasn't true, there would be no reason not to - he gave an answer that could be construed as a denial, but actually isn't. It's a clever trick that a lot of people use when talking to the media.
James Pitkin that wrote the article for WW is a bonified reporter for WW. WW is a bonified paper. There are many reporters who report online for their newspaper and call it a blog. Some reporters do this so they have their own section. I think others do it to connect better with an online community, who knows. Bottom line is WW is a legit newsource.
If it's been confirmed that the SM was given a second polygraph test, does that mean she failed the first one?
I didn't think she had anything to do with it when I first heard about the case, but the cell phone pings are making me wonder. I've read speculation that she was up to something she doesn't want people to know about and that's why the pings don't match where she says she was but that makes no sense to me. Whatever it could be can't be worse than people thinking she did something to her stepson IMO
The person who wrote this article, James Pitkin, is a journalist and staff writer. The "blog" is actually their news wire section. Willamette Week only publishes a paper copy weekly, but of course there are sometimes things they need/want to report on more frequently than that. Hence, the wire section. It is not a blog in the sense that it's just someone's personal outlet for their thoughts and opinions. It's an extension of their hard copy paper. They have it listed under "News."
Not to worry, now there's a thread starting in on the Bio Mom....it just took a little bit longer
(why yes, that was somewhat sarcastic tone....although true there is a thread where the Bio Mom's letter to her son, is being ripped apart. )
Thanks. You said this much better than I have.I see it a little differently. I just waved goodbye to my son----I was in my kitchen looking out of the window, and he was walking toward his place of business. There are other pedestrians out there, too, but I have no idea if they are noticing my son or not. If he were to disappear, I might be the last person to have seen him. But that doesn't mean I was with him.
This is only a clever trick if he is denying other things, while not denying this. But he isn't. He is merely not commenting either way about this or anything else.
Whether this newspaper is legit or not, the article confirms that none of their sources are identified with the investigation into Kyron's disappearance. Not one. So we have five unidentified persons who are not affiliated with the case as the source. That just doesn't jump high enough to clear the hurdle for me.
