Shrien Dewani once again visibly distraught as Verster gives details of Anni’s wounds.
Anni's father Vinod Hindocha stares blankly as the pathologist goes into the details of the autopsy.
A perforation on Anni’s spinal cord rendered the deceased paralysed, according to Verster. Witness goes into detail about bruises, abrasions and general condition of Anni’s body.
Verster says victim was lying on her right side in the vehicle.
Dewani’s lawyer, van Zyl, now gets his turn to cross-examine Verster.
Defence lawyer Francois Van Zyl asking the witness about Anni’s earring and about whether it was tangled in her hair. He’s asking for particular details. Did the earring get entangled before or after the body was removed. Verster says she's not sure.
The pathologist maintains the body was not tampered with.
Van Zyl asks about spinal cord damage. Pathologist says due to damage, if Anni survived, she would have been paralysed. RE
Van Zyl says due to spinal cord damage, Anni wouldn't have been able to move from the car seat during the crime.
Anni’s dad finding it exceptionally difficult hearing the evidence, which describes the extent of his daughter's injuries. He puts his hand over his mouth as details are revealed.

Judge Traverso clarifies question for Verster. The pathologist responds that it would be correct that Anni wouldn’t be able to move from her seat but she says she can’t exclude the possibility that the victim’s leg may have pressed against something.
And with this, Traverso adjourns proceedings for lunch. Case to resume in the next hour or so.
