IIRC they had already been on a safari for a few days so she might have been very casual without makeup and then she gets dressed up with makeup and looks completely different. But sometimes when you have learnt later it was his wife all along, you can then mistakenly refer to her as his wife as you know better later.

I wondered if he wants us to think that he would not have agreed arranged hit men to kill the woman if he had known it was Dewani's wife?

To me, the question in re: ZT isn't whether, if he knew AH was SD's wife he would not have agreed to help arrange her murder. To me, the question is why would SD tell ZT he wanted a business-related person killed and not just tell ZT it was his wife?

That seems like the same thing, perhaps, but it's not.

What do you guys think SD's reason would be?

VZ: Why run away from their identities?

Tongo: There was nothing that I was hiding. What I said is that they introduced themselves to me. When they appeared, I remembered their names.

Tongo: It's the way they (police) wrote it. They introduced themselves to me. I couldn't remember their names.

Tongo: As time went on, I remembered their names. It was a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes.

VZ: But then tell the police "I can't remember their names" as opposed to "they weren't introduced to me"

Tongo" Let's say it was a mistake. They were introduced to me.

VZ: Was Mr. da Grass present when you made this statement?

Tongo: That's correct

VZ: I presume, at that time, Mr. da Grass knew your whole story?

Tongo: Correct

VZ: And if you made a mistake, he would've pointed it out to you.

Tongo: He's also human. He can also make a mistake.

VZ: It get's worse. It's common cause that the number used by Spra was 0736586434."

VZ refers to exhibit with Tongo's cellphone records

VZ: The name Spra (saved on his phone) has the number I just read out to you.

Tongo: Correct

VZ: Thank you, you can close the book. Can you explain this to the court?

Tongo (long pause): As I said, he did give his name to me. The fact that I forgot his name & remembered it later that's something that happens.

Erm, spam?

Leigh-Anne Jansen ‏@LA_JANSEN 2m2 minutes ago

VZ: Why did you tell the police you did not know their names?

Tongo: I repeat, that they did introduce themselves. The fact that I forgot. It's a mistake.

VZ: You see, we have a similar problem with the fact that you didn't know it was the wife who had to be killed.

VZ: It was a business partner or client. I told you Mr. Qwabe said he was told that a husband wanted a wife killed.

VZ: He changed some at OR Tambo and @VandAWaterfront . He will say he doesn't know where the Dollars come from.

oh gee...........LAS VEGAS the scene of the batchelor party he was bragging about with the helicopter ride too??? that would be my guess LOL -- MOO

=======================

SD flew all the way from the UK to Las Vegas, USA, for his bachelor party?? I'd love to know what went on at the party and whether SD was, for every single minute of that trip, with straight men who had no idea he was gay. ...or did he take a little time alone to find an American Master?

Why would that matter? It wouldn't because the judge wouldn't allow it in, but I'd bet my bottom dollar (no pun intended) that if he went to Las Vegas, he would actually have had some "fun" - his own kind of fun.

And I'm not being critical or judgmental, here, about SD's sexuality or sexual predilections. Many of my friends are LGBTQI and questioning. I get it and it makes me so mad and sad that SD's family put him in a position where e felt his only option was to murder someone.

Furthermore, it absolutely breaks my heart to know that AH was just someone, anyone, a pawn, worthless to him except dead. I see photos of AH and my heart breaks because they were taken of her when she was alive. I know what's coming, she doesn't. Also, she looks a lot like my son's girlfriend, which is a little freaky ( rather how George Clooney's new wife is a doppelgänger for actress Ann Hathaway. They could be identical twins).

I'm rambling so I'll stop.

Judge, assessors sitting behind huge files full of evidence, paging through them - wonder when courts will go paperless.

My short guess would be that SD was just in CYA mode (cover his butt)

ITA -- your remarks about Vegas!

In it, Tongo replies that a man wanted his wife killed & unsure if it was the same one as the airport.

A recurring theme for Zola Tongo, the taxi driver-turned-murderer in the #DewaniTrial, is fallibility of mankind. "Everyone makes mistakes"
