Yes, so true.

Going through Dewani's statement, the second one taken on 3rd October, 2014, where he talks about the helicopter trip and payment arrangements, he's even more specific about it.

Dewani says he was supposed to meet up with the pilot on the Saturday night. When did he imagine this was going to happen? By 10pm they're all going sightseeing on the way to Gugs. Would he normally meet up with pilots in a strange country around or after midnight?! He wanted the surprise for Anni the next day!

In this statement he says Tongo texts him in the vehicle on their journey about the money (Dewani says he thought it was about the helicopter flight money) and he replied back that 'he had it'!

This is Dewani's statement -

How many pilots would be so desperate for clients that they would be prepared to meet up with would-be clients on a Saturday night? I recently went on a helicopter flight from Vancouver to Victoria on Vancouver island and it only cost me $150 CAD! I did not insist that I meet the pilot first!

A few days ago it appeared that this case could have been thrown out of court and there were rumblings that Dewani would be returning to the UK. I noted that many on here were thinking that there was not enough evidence to prove Dewani's guilt. I am now wondering whether any of you have had a change of heart since? I have always thought he was guilty but wondered whether they had enough evidence to prove it.

bbm: there I am sitting next to you on the fence.......(with g & t).....waiting for ''enough evidence to seal the deal"

It seemed so outrageous to arrange a murder with a cab driver ((within an hour of meeting each other)) that I thought ''no way!'', but there's something so weird about this whole case I just have to wait ...... can't read the last page just yet of this mystery.

Something is just so ''off'' with SD --- I believe he is truly capable of this murder for hire - jmho - just don't know enough YET

The word township was not in Dewani's vocabulary at the time - Dewani's lawyer Pieter Botha.

Edited the OP... That's complete BS. Who hasn't heard of a 'township', especially someone who has travelled to SA previously?!

:D On a scale of 1-10, 1 being totally innocent and 10 totally guilty. I waiver between 6 - 8. I wonder what the figure will be after Mondo's testimony.

Mbolombo says while he did initially lie in his statements to the police, it was in reference to his involvement.

Riley resumes: when last did you see Qwabe after working with him on Pride of Table Mountain?

Mbololmbo: Monwabisi beach

No change of heart for me yet - that just means that I dont think they have yet proved beyond all reasonable doubt that Dewani is guilty, because so far, his version is reasonably possibly true. It ain't over yet though!

Helijet is Great!!

Yes Helijet is great. We arrived off a Princess cruise from Alaska and as it was a Saturday, it was off peak fares. The scenery was fantastic and just three passengers! I booked online too. You must be a Canadian.

I had read Tongo's statement earlier and thought at the time that Dewani was definitely guilty. Then I read Dewani's statement directly afterwards and thought he had covered his tracks very well with this so called helicopter ride. Each guy as the R15,000 covered.

The annoying part about Dewani's statement though is he made it last month, after all the others had appeared in court and testified. The other statement is a handwritten one he wrote on the night of the murder. In the article, he supposedly produced a second affidavit, so the one I linked to written in October this year, is actually the third statement. So confusing, but I'm sure the second statement like his first, no mention of money or helicopter flight.

SR:Why did you ask MQ?

MM: When we met at the beach, I saw the people who were with him at the beach. I though they were involved in wrong activities like crime. He asked if I was working, I told him yes. He said he wasn't working. He asked me how my life was? He said that if there are people after me I must tell him. I told him there are no people after me.
1415
MM says he didn't know Mngeni.
1417
SR: Is it true that Zola came to the hotel on 12/11/10?

MM says that ZT called first and asked about his shift. Then he told MM he was on his way. When he arrived I was at desk.

1418

MM says he had housekeeping matters to attend to and told ZT he'd be back. When he got back, ZT was still at desk. He said he wanted to talk to MM about something.
1419
MM: He asked if I know someone who's a hitman. "There's someone looking for a hit man," he said. I said I'm not familiar with that kind of thing.
1420

MM: We then moved back into the office. In the office I took out my phone and phone belonging to hotel. ZT was standing next to me at this point.
1422
MM says he then phone MQ from the cordless phone.

MM: I told him there's a guy [ZT] who is looking for someone to do a job. He asked what kind of job.
1424
MM: I told him that he is looking for a hitman. ZT was at reception at this point. We moved from reception to room because there were people who could understand Xhosa there and they'd know we were talking about getting a hit man.

Mbolombo says he did not know Xolile Mngeni.

Riley: tell the court what happened on 12 November 2010.

Mbolombo: (Tongo) he called at work, I picked up, he then inquired what time shift started and he said he was on his way.

Mbolombo: when he arrived I told him I was assisting with housekeeping and got into the lift, on my way up I left him behind, came back and found him at the desk, he said "hey man, need to speak to you, something I want to talk about" he said is there no one that you know of that is a hit man.
I said I'm not familiar with people who are criminals, but there is someone I can ask. We then moved to the back office,I took out my phone and had the hotel's cordless phone on the other.

He(Qwabe on the phone) asked me how I was, I told him I was at work. I told him I'm with someone who is looking for someone to do a job. Qwabe asked what kind of job.
Mbolombo says he told Qwabe the man was looking for a it man

Mbolombo says he thought of calling Qwabe because of their previous meeting at the beach and the people Qwabe was with.

Mbolombo says he didn't know how much would be paid at that stage.

Mbolombo says Zola told him it was R15000.

vanessa poonah ‏@vanessapoonah01 8m
Riley: did Zola at any stage tell you any other info other than he's looking for a hitman? MM: not on that Friday.

1425
MM said he didn't think MQ would do the job himself.
MM: He came from a decent background and attended the Model C schools.
1426
MM was asked about payment for hit. He didn't know at that stage. He asked ZT and he was told R15 000.
1430
MM: He said we shouldn't talk about this over the phone and we should meet.
SR: Did he say the job would be done?
MM: He said he had no problem doing it.
1432
MM: We went back to hotel. ZT said we'd talk about this some other time. After Zola left, I phoned Abongile (MQ) to tell him that I worked with this guy for a long time and that we could trust him.

MM: they met on the Saturday, I couldn't make it. My shift started at 3 ending at 11.
