FvZ: What was explained to you about killing?

That the plan was to kill the woman. "I don't want to mention him by name, but he wanted it to happen." -- referring to SD

(Mondo doesn't want to say Dewani or the gentleman.)

If I was Dewani's defence counsel, I'd object to a witness 'renaming' my client with something that comes perilously close to sounding derogatory, as in 'low'.

I'm also surprised the judge allows it.

Van Zyl tell MM " You can refer to him. He is Mr. Dewani." (Dewani looks up,confused. Doesn't seem he was listening at that stage)

Traverso is quite different than Masipa, the witnesses can be called liars. If SD does take the stand, I wonder if the state calls him a liar will she step in then?

Seems like SD isn't quite interested in proceedings, pretty much like everyone else, lol, it's like a drawn out procedure to go through with an end with no surprises, well not so far.

Network issues again. VZ continuing his cross exam. Questioning MM about who would wash the car, after the incident

MM: I don't know. I'm not sure who would take the car to be washed.

VZ: Why in your statement just the other day, did you not tell them "I'm not sure who will take the car to the car wash"

MM: Because it was said to me that after the lady is killed, the car must be taken to be washed.

VZ: Mr. Tongo was the other party, privy to this conversation, not so?

VZ refers to the court records, when Tongo was under cross exam

News24 ‏@News24 1m1 minute ago

VZ reads out Tongo's evidence that he asked them to leave the car near a carwash after the job, so it could be cleaned.

VZ: What do you say about his explanation?

MM: What i know of is what I mentioned here. After the lady has been killed, the car must be taken to the car wash. Who, where and when, I don't know. But it's not true what Zola is saying that the car was to be taken to a car wash near where I am staying.

VZ: Which of these versions do you want the court to believe? That Zola was going to take the car or Qwabe was?

MM: What I know is that after the woman was killed, the car would be washed. `who would wash it or where, I don't know.

Tongo's car is to be used in a murder, where Tongo will claim to be a victim... it will inevitably be seized by police and Tongo is going to take it to a car wash?!

Judge refers to call record

MM: I was instructing them not to get lost, they were coming to Khayelitsha from Gugulethu.

Leigh-Anne Jansen ‏@LA_JANSEN 2m2 minutes ago

VZ: Mr. Qwabe testified that he does not recall anything about washing the car. What do you say about that?

MM:I would say that he forgot because this thing happened a long time ago. i am not talking on his behalf. I am talking on my behalf

VZ: As I understood from your evidence, you made the earlier calls because you were curious. Why did you make these calls(after) also because you were curious?

MM: Yes.

VZ: did you give any instructions to Qwabe, Mngeni or Tongo what they should do that night?

MM: Except that I told Zola I instructed the other two not to get lost when they came to Gugulethu.
