PH: Because there was a collective decision made that things were being leaked to the press from that docket ((BBC Panorama))This was a collective decision by my commander and the DPP because of the leaking of documents.

I would make subsequent statements as the investigation progressed and information came to hand. The defence is in possession

PH: I don't know if the state is implying that something underhanded has been done. If so, tell me what you're trying to imply so that I can assist you. (I pretty sure she means the Defence :dunno: )

PH: No.

PH: I didn't need to keep notes, it's in my stm

VZ: In this case, a part of the glove was sent for primer residue. You say you only became aware of the findings when the defence requested it.

PH: Like I said, it was an oversight.

Traverso: A rather important oversight. You knew there was no dispute that the glove was worn by Qwabe.

VZ: There was another oversight, by ballistics expert Sgt. Serfontein. There was a Rossi revolver and Norinco pistol

PH: That revolver was sent away because that night, there was another shooting outside Mzoli's

VZ: Did you see the mistake?

PH: I don't understand what the mistake is.

VZ: That's clearly a mistake. Who was responsible for correcting it?

PH: I'm sure there is a correction statement. The mistake was picked up by Col. Barkhuizen.

VZ: There is no correction statement.

PH: I'm under the impression that there is one.

VZ: During lunch, look through your docket

(apparently this is about the 2 guns, there was also another robbery in the area.)

Hendrikse concedes that the ballistics report correction was simply inserted into the affidavit. ie,a new statement wasn't made

VZ: How did this come about?

PH: I can't answer for Sgt. Serfontein but it seems the rectification was made on the same day
