Utterly devastating. What a sweet, precious young child, and to experience such a vicious assault, is unforgivable.

It is understood that Spanish authorities have a body that they believe is his, but are waiting for formal identification to take place.

I'm so sorry to post this.

I did not realise there is a photo of him lying dead just after the attack happen. I just came across it on Twitter when searching for news. How utterly heartbreaking that such a image is all over the Internet and may of been seen by some of the family.

I thought newest reports were saying he died in hospital? I'm getting so confused...there is actually a photo of a poor little child deceased on twitter? Horrendous [emoji17]

I can not say with certainty that he is dead in the photo but he looks it and yes unfortunately people have no taste and are passing it around on twitter. You have to love the sick people passing it around as they have set up new twitter accounts just to show the image off as they don't have the guts to do it under their own account.

I saw the photo yesterday. It is a still from a video someone shot of the aftermath of the attack. A boy can be seen lying face down in the street. The face can not be seen, you can't tell whether he's dead or alive, he could only be unconscious. No visible injuries. The only reason why people thought it might be Julian is because of the clothes, they are similar to what he was wearing that day. It's a heartbreaking photo nonetheless.

Whether this was Julian or not, it looks like Julian is unfortunately deceased, going by recent reports (posted above). So very sad. :(

I'm so glad the gentleman stayed with the young boy even though he said he was lifeless with no pulse so he was not alone. The young boy reminded him of his own son and he couldn't leave him.

From the same article:

The site of the attack has become a memorial as people pay tribute with flowers, messages and candles along Barcelona's historic Las Ramblas promenade.

I'm really uncomfortable with the media putting images of dead children with articles I think it is a step too far. It is distressing for the families of the children who have died to know there are images of their dead child online. No criticism of you intended at all Elainera

I understand. Should I delete my post?

In my opinion NO, it's the reality of what happened. People need to see the horror of these terrorists, that don't care who they kill.

What a heartbreaking photo. I am glad that man was there though I think the child (likely Julian, based on clothes) had already passed. So horrific.

I've never seen something so confusing and bizarre. When you search #juliancadman on twitter and sort the results by latest, you get 'RIP' tweets alternating with announcements that he's alive in a hospital, etc. Really drives it home for me why we don't allow sm posts here to be used as fact. What a chaos. Even msm reporting seems to be conflicted. I hope Julian's father does not even look at any of this. He must be so exhausted by now. Bet he hasn't slept since it all happened. Praying for a miracle, and that Julian's mom recovers, and the dad gets some rest!

This article gives a comprehensive overview of all the confusing reporting.

http://amp.smh.com.au/world/barcelo...ds-to-find-julian-cadman-20170820-gy0bzz.html

No official or family statement has yet been made on the boy's health. Both Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop referred to him on Friday as "missing", and the Department of Foreign Affairs says it would not comment "for privacy reasons".

But Spanish newspaper El Pais highlighted the confusion surrounding the boy, saying police told them they had included the boy on their list of victims and injured from the starts, and had not reported him as missing.

Police told the newspaper they knew where the boy was, but could not comment on his location or state of health out of respect for the family.

Also, Mrs Cadman seems to be doing a bit better:

A Vall d'Hebron hospital spokesman said he had been asked by the family and by British and Australian consular officials not to talk to the media about the family's situation, beyond confirming the woman remained in a "menos grave" medical condition, which translates as "less serious".
