gracias for the update. What an Ahoal for staring down Deb. After what he has done one would think he would be ashamed when he saw Tawni's Mom. That speak volumes huh.

No kidding. Deb said when she told Mike he told her if he sees it tomorrow, he will jump him. Sigh. I hope not, but who can blame him.

Oh my - I sincerely hope Mike can control himself! But I would LOVE to have the chance to return the WW staredown. I would have no problem bringing this 🤬🤬🤬 to his knees. He obviously has no remorse - what a lowlife. I take comfort in the fact that if he doesn't pay full price for our little Tawni's death, he will pay somewhere down the line. I just don't want to see another victim fall at his hands. Still hoping that Lindsey will be the hero in this story!!!!

Just got off of the phone with Deb. Jury selection is complete and the jury will be seated, ready to go tomorrow. She said it is full of smart people.

WW had a staredown with her which frightened her and angered her to no end. I have seen similar tactics in defendants and IIRC, the person who felt uncomfortable mentioned it to the court in private, and instantly baliffs were assigned to sit on either side of the defendant. Gives the jury the impression that the defendant is a dangerous person...hmmm...yes, I told her this story. Hint Hint.

Much of what was contended by the defense was denied by the judge although I do not have the specifics of what motions were lost or won. The photos will be in evidence, Deb will be testifying and Mike will read his impact statement, so those were not thrown out.

Deb also told me that as part of the "community impact" statement to the judge, the County Attorney mentioned how WEBSLEUTHS and other forums spent years looking for her match, were so moved when she was ID'd and WROTE letters in support of the victim and her family....:woohoo:

So WW can try and stare us down too, I guess. I want so badly to have the old forum opened up so I can put a:
:seeya: smilie in greeting to him and

:nyah: and

well, you get the picture. I believe ours was the only forum mentioned by name, but don't quote me.

You took the words right out of my mouth before I got to the end of the post.
Oh and how I PRAY Deb takes the 'hint hint'.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be sitting in that court room because I would have given WW that wicked stare right back and would NOT have broke it until he did.

thanks for the update.. I will be waiting on pins and needles for news tomorrow. Remember when they were throwing shoes at GW? Would love to have a bunch of us with some hard cover books to toss, lol.

sounds like our letters were not admissable but the CA got it in as best she could.

I agree. I hope the jury notices this......

I agree too.. We need to find a way to keep track of this 🤬🤬🤬 WW... One day he will get a very very long sentence... and I for one will be doing the happy dance that day.. and hopefully tomorrow.

You raise a good point, Cubs. I know that when the feds take over, if I should say, they will tear into this case in great detail. It is hard for me to believe, however, that he doesn't have other battered young women in his path over the last 10 years. There has to be a way to reach them and have them come forward.

That would be wonderful. I mean, obviously not that there are other battered women, but if they would come forward. I'm so surprised and happy that Deb did decide to attend and wasn't uncomfortable enough to leave after the "stare-down". Good for you, Deb! Can't blame Mike for wanting to jump Mr. 🤬🤬🤬, but I too, hope he can control himself. It most certainly is a testiment to all WSers hard work and all the other people behind the scenes that this is even going to trial. I am so happy about that. I just hope they throw the book at him, but I do like the idea about actually throwing hard cover books too! That was a good one! Oh, waiting, waiting, waiting......

The case is about 2/3 of the way through, but the Medical Examiner, Suzi Dodt just testified, ON THE RECORD, and gave WS the credit for IDing Tawni Lee.

Wow. Huge. The jurors were taking notes furiously so there is a bet that there will be quite a few juror hits on the website when the case is over....

I will update with any other info I receive....:blowkiss:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:Go White Hats!!!

Wow! :woohoo:

Cool beans Believe! and a giant thanks to Suzi! What an honor, what a compliment! (though, in my heart I wish the name Tawni remained anonymous to us all as it would mean she was still alive.....)

It's getting late in AZ, about 5pm now. -they don't do daylight savings time.

Do you think this will be wrapped up today or continued Monday? I'm thinking it sounds like it will be continued Monday.

Did you pm this to Tricia! If not, I think you should copy and send her this!

I agree, but unsure how other than hoping it spreads through the grape vine. He most likely never used the alias Alonzo Fernandez again once he bolted from AZ.

His aliases were beautifully documented by Mike Lancaster, I hear. Maybe we can get a complete list and hmmm do what we do....

At one point, he went by Michael Jackson. Do you think the gloved one will be flattered to hear that?

I have heard a few times that some major crime shows are waiting in the wings to film the case once this part is over. If anyone who might be interviewed is still considered a witness, they really have to avoid interviews like the plague so that the only place they are on the record is with the court. The print media done by Mike and Deb in the fall were with their attorneys for that reason....

I do not know specifically what shows anymore...

I'd love to work on the list.... Michael Jackson huh? He must have run out of clever names. Did he by chance use Rico Suave' too?

Do you know if this thing is going to be wrapped up today or Monday?

I can't stand the wait anymore.... My nerves are like that when chewing my nails and watching the Cubs. I hope the outcome for Tawni's case is much better than the Cubs...... eek

Closing arguments, jury instructions will resume on TUESDAY 1/13/09 at 130PM. The jury will deliberate and hopefully sentencing will occur immediately.

  • #37
Thanks for the update.... I wish it were today, but I think that would have been pushing it.

So we wait again.

Tuesday evening won't get here quick enough.

Goosebumps!!!! This is awesome news. I wish they could see all the work that went into this case here on WS. Thanks so much believe09 for keeping us all in the loop. It's as close to being there as possible! Though I know many of us wish we really could be there. I bet everyone in that courtroom would take notice if we ALL showed up to watch "Michael Jackson" go down in flames! That being said, I am, sadly, quite sure there are many other victims of this two-bit con man out there. May they all have justice in Tawni's name!
