That's the thing that's not known........if DP actually got in his car and left or if his car was there. I would imagine that Sharon was busy with the kids and not observing cars coming and going at that point. She's firmly stated that both cars were gone at 1:30pm, so evidently after DP picked up the kids from Sharon, he left them in the care of the older two boys. Nothing is known of his whereabouts from then on.

I think Ric said that Sharon told him that both cars were there till 1:30pm. That's not in the family timeline that does state Stacy's car was gone at 11:55am. So what does Ric's statement mean?

That Ric is mistaken, because the times from Sharon are in the family timeline. : )

4a - Drew not home - just got off work from Bolingbrook PD.
4a-9:40a - No info on Drew's whereabouts.
9:40a - (Per Sharon, neighbor) Both cars in driveway (per Sharon)
9:40a-11:55a - Assuming Drew was home since his car was in driveway and Stacy didn't say he was not during the 10:09a-10:28a call with Bruce.
11:55a - (Per Sharon) Stacy's car not in driveway. Only Drew's car is home. We believe Drew was home since Sharon called house, Kris picked up phone, Sharon talked with Drew.
11:55a-1p - No info on Drew's whereabouts.
1p-1:15p - Drew was at Sharon's
1:15-1:30p - No info on Drew's whereabouts.
1:30p - Drew was at Sharon's to pick up kids.
1:30p-~7p - No documented info on Drew's where-abouts

It could not have been much before 11:00am!! The fight had to last a few minutes, at least, after the phone call...then after he killed her it took a few more minutes to figure out where to put her and come up with a game plan. I don't believe he was worried at that point that family or anyone else was coming by that early...but he knew that Sharon might be out and about therefore would notice. She would be immediately suspicious if the car was there and Stacy wasn't...probably because it was out of character for her.

You're right, Sharon was probably his first concern.

I was wrong tho...Drew was at Sharon's for 15 mins. and only had 15 mins. to clean up stuff.

Now, as far as I have found...Sharon never mentioned the cars or Drew leaving in a vehicle after leaving the kids or coming back.

Drew could not have taken the kids to Sharon's and have them see Stacy's car either. They would know she hadn't gone somewhere like Drew said.

I wonder where Drew was and what phone he used when he called in sick at 2:30pm?

  • #286
Drew didn't have to use a phone. He had a radio. : )

I don't think Drew would have left the kids alone in the house with Stacy upstairs. I guess Drew hung out for 5 1/2 hours waiting for it to get dark? I wonder what kind of online research Drew did during that time?

As long as he had her hidden in the container in the closet...yes, he would leave the kids alone in the house with her. He probably piled stuff on it and put it where they wouldn't look. To him...his immediate concern was the car and Sharon. He HAD to get her car away from the house.

DP may have observed Sharon leaving when she left to go to the grocery store, or saw that her car wasn't there. Not knowing how long Sharon might be gone, he had to move Stacy's car asap. So I think that as soon as he could secure the bedroom after killing Stacy, that was the next thing he did. As far as he knew Sharon could come home at any time so he had to move fast. It probably only took a matter of a few minutes to move her car either to Clow airport a block away, or to another residential street in the immediate area, and walk back home.

Drew probably did hang out at the house most of that time. He was planning what to do. He thought he had a day or so...until Cassandra blew HIS timelime to get rid of her!

I wonder what he looked up on the computer, too. Some people believe he wasn't computer savy...but he has proven he is quite proficient with the ones at work!

Right! He didn't move it far! But just off the "beaten path"...where people like Sharon weren't going to notice it or to look for it! This is where I think he got the whole..."Stacy flew off to Jamaica with her BF" story. It was born when he had to move the car.

Oh I believe he did that before the kids thought he was awake, before 11am. I'm talking about 1:30pm to 7PM. I don't think he would have left the kids alone then. Kids are much snoopier when they know mom and dad aren't around.

Most bathrooms and many master bedrooms have locks on the doors. So I think DP would have had her body in the master bathroom with the door locked, or the door to the master bedroom locked.

In one of the first interviews Sharon said that both cars were gone after 1:30pm. I think DP left the house for most of the day, scouting for a place to dispose of Stacy's body. I think he came up with some sort of plan and later called his step-brother, Thomas Morphey, and made arrangements to pick him up at a park about 7:00pm. They went to a coffee shop and at some point DP left for a while leaving his cell phone with Thomas with the instructions not to answer it. The phone did ring, and the caller ID said Stacy. DP came back and the two went to DP's home and moved the blue container from the bedroom to the Denali.

Oh, oh OK! So you mean he was home during all that time! I get it! Yes...uhm....I thought I agreed with that earlier? LOL

Leila, you are right and I don't see Drew being the type to allow his children to run thru his room when they think he is trying to sleep. They probably don't do that unless Stacy allowed them in the room anyway.

Also...a lot of nice master bedrooms have a door directly to the outside. Anyone notice about the doors on his house?

On the photos thread there's several pictures of the Peterson house. According to one of the reports, the master bedroom is the room over the garage portion of the house - second story. If you look at the aerial photo that shows the back of the house and backyard, there's no balconies on the back of the house, and none on the front. So, there doesn't appear to be a master bedroom deck.

Ok so he went out the garage door as he always does...it is a habit. The kids then KNEW he was awake and the 11:00am...I slept til then won't work.

I have not seen a timeline stating Sharon's information for the afternoon on 10/28. I know she would know whether or not DP car was in the drive or if it was gone all evening. I assumed he was gone all evening up until around 7:00 pm when he called Morphey.
