FWIW, Sandra Bellinger (of Laci Peterson case fame) predicted Stacy would be found in April. Let's pray she's right.
IIRC, she thinks she's at the Dresden Locke, under-water.

I'm not sure which thread to post this to, but after debating I feel this is the right one.
I have paste and copied a portion of a search teams maunevers in searching for a body in cold water temperatures. This team is located in another state, but I immediately thought of Stacy while reading it. I asked for permission to post it here and received it.
For me, it helped on how a body "reacts" in a river, lake, etc. I think the area that Stacy is beleived to be in is also considered a "cold water" river.

When a person falls into a cold-water current like the Otter Creek in February, the process is always the same, Uhler explained. A body will descend through three phases, known as the top, middle and bottom load. If the person is conscious, he will remain in the top load longer as he fights the current. If he is unconscious, or cannot beat the current, he will sink to the middle load and finally the bottom.
If theres a lot of debris in the river a persons clothes can become ensnared in the debris, Uhler said.
In warmer water, a body would become more buoyant, rise to the surface and begin moving on the current. But in the Otter Creeks cold water, its unlikely a body would travel far from where it entered the river, Uhler explained.
In a matter of one to two minutes he could have gone from top load to bottom load, especially with the current, he said. With the cold water conditions we have now, once a person becomes trapped in a certain area in the river, they would probably stay there for a while.

I have just watched a very fascinating and interesting documentary about the disgraced Drew Peterson.
I firmly believe that it is always good to have a fresh pair of eyes looking at a situation.
That said I am a very inquisitive person my philosophy is “Assume Nothing, Believe Nobody, and Challenge Everything”.
I gleaned several factors from the documentary, but I would like to help you raise the unknown whereabouts of Stacy Peterson.
To carry on there are factors that I do not know but as a State Police department, they will certainly know.
The documentary stated Drew Peterson made a phone call from 135th Street Bridge.
When three cell towers ping a location the approximate accuracy for Cellular Triangulation is 500m (0.3 miles).
Drew Peterson was a very experienced officer, so he would have known this data, which leads me to the next point.
Illinois State Police Department will have access to a considerable amount of CCTV footage on W Romeo Rd - E Romeo Rd and W 135th St as they will be aware this is a long straight view and the Field of View will be extensive.
As Drew Peterson was driving a red pickup that should be easy to spot, BETTER YET how many red pickup trucks will have a blue barrel ( covered or uncovered ) on the rear bed?
Googling the term Illinois CCTV camera brings up many results and I am more than sure that Illinois State Police Department will have access to many more.
Now this brings me to a further point (I am sorry to keep saying how Peterson was an experienced officer) but here is the thing he supposedly made the cell phone call from the 135th bridge BUT could it be feasible that call was made 177.78m (583.27ft) to the west this is the bridge that spans the Des Plaines River Dr (stops short) and the Old Romeo Road. (Google Maps very helpful thanks)
Now following this trajectory will lead you on to your journey Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal > > > South Branch Chicago River > > > Chicago River > > > Lake Michigan.
Please bear with me for the next part.
Ask the Illinois State Police Department departments to supply a crash test dummy fully cased it in a dry suit including a GPS make sure all the dummy sensors are set to zero then weigh it down to Stacy Peterson's weight. Then put the dummy in the blue barrel partially filled with weight so as not to show on the surface but not to hit the bottom (thereby floating under the surface) secure the lid very tightly shut and throw it over the bridge parapet.
As it is unknown by me the actual date but using a month's timeline and a possible time of day these can be possibly gleaned from the CCTV mentioned above. The current will do the rest.
The reason why I go into such detail is that I believe Stacy and the blue barrel are either lodged (caught up) somewhere downstream or if you are lucky bobbing about in Lake Michigan somewhere, although due to the number of years lapsed, that is maybe a wish to far.
I think the former is the better of the two alternatives.

Have you seen the case of Scott Dudko? Went missing from the same area? Was arrested by Drew Peterson several times in Woodridge Illinois during the 90’s oddly enough. Scott and Stacy knew/frends W/ each other. We all ran with the same crowd / schools. I had dated Stacy’s older sister when I was young. The fact that my 2 close friends ended up in blue barrels has haunted me. When they found Scott’s remains they actually thought it was Stacy. Drew’s brother stated on the record he helped Drew move 2 blue barrels. Those waterways you mentioned above on more than 1 occasion have been a mass dumping ground. Countless bodies hundreds have been found during my short life. Any more thoughts please do share. we will find her God willing.
