Apparently, by the flavor of the posts - none of us can stand the obnoxious & pretentious Star Jones and are glad she's finally gotten the proverbial boot. :woohoo: :dance:

Personally, I never much cared for the catty bitchy personalities of the majority of the women on 'The View'. IMO - Meredith was engaging & interesting - by far, the best of the group. I have confidence she'll do very well in the new atmosphere of the Today Show.

I cannot tolerate the crassness of Joy Behar and Barbara's humongous ego lends itself to making "Barbara" an integral part of any 'big name guest's appearance'. Somehow, she always seems to find a way to 'still make it about her'.

I basically stopped tuning in when Lisa Ling left. Now, I am able to enjoy her talent & efforts on the incredible Nat.Geo Explorer programs. Love those and they're so much better suited for Lisa!

I never particularly cared for Rosie O'Donnell's show or her brand of humor/comedy - especially her demeanor & antics the last 4-5 years. Seems to me, Barbara & the producers are going to have their hands full with Rosie on the show. With Meredith gone and Rosie & Gayle King coming aboard - I predict Barbara will begin to appear less n' less often .. then, by her own decision, she'll be the next to depart.

Definitely pleased that the tacky classless Star Jones Reynolds is 'off the show'! I still can't believe she lasted 9 years. For that matter - I can't believe "The View" has lasted 9 years!

Oh well ... So, was today Star's last day or was it just announced today and she'll continue to hang around all summer? Anyone know?

Have to agree with this, although I haven't actually watched this show since the first year of its inception.....(Despise Star). I saw it one week when I was home sick from work and that's all I needed.
Watched Star work the red carpet on the E channel (of which she was also fired for being too self absorbed) and she was absolutely stomach turning with calling every woman (Glamazons)..........GACK!

With Rosie being brought on- the entire theme of this show is going to be Gay oriented and full of gay rights discussions.......Rosie will make every discussion about her gay life.......Gay this- gay that- Gay marriage.......whatever~ It will be her platform to push her views on others.

I have nothing whatsoever against peoples chosen (or unchosen-again, whatever) lifestyle at all but I do have a problem when someone, as loud mouthed as Rosie is, and as angry as she is, punishes us all with her politcal, social and moral views........

Hey, you have no need to defend yourself on this thread. We all (well, most all!) knew exactly what you meant and that you were not "gay bashing".

Quite honestly, I was astounded to read the tirade from the one poster that responded negatively and hoped she would delete her comments after giving it some additional thought. I did consider responding to that post - but, realized the ridiculousness of the attack and decided it was better to just let it drop.

Many of us also find Rosie's pushy over-the-top in-your-face attitude & distasteful behavior of the last few years very unbecoming - to say the least. It has absolutely nothing to do with her "haircut" or choice to live an open & very public alternative gay lifestyle. It's her personna & often obnoxious behavior that grates on the nerves.

Just wanted you to know that you had support here on the thread - and that the attack on you was unwarranted. I sincerely hope an apology to you will be forthcoming.

BTW...I agree with all of your thoughts on the show The View. While I have always liked Barbara Walters (but do find her "specials" had to watch..so don't) I don't really enjoy Joy, like the little blondie at times, and could not stand Star. Meridith Vieara was really the only co-host that held the group together, and I rarely tune in these days. Used to be my "ironing show"!

Boy...just look what little ole Katie Couric started!!

I like Beth. She's been here covering the Andrea Yates re-trial. Didn't know that til I saw her on Paula Zahn. I think Beth is too good for a show of that type.

Frankly, I thought BW was also especially with some of the subjects they talk about. I NEVER thought I would see or hear BW saying she washes out her own undies and hangs them up to dry. LMAO

Please, newtv, most of us can assimilate. I will keep in my mode of educating. This is the best we can do. No throwing it down the throat.That never works,it is people who come to the aid and response of others.I never judge this topic but I have many friends that are gay.I don't believe that a heterosexual relatonship is an end all be all.But, I also believe in choices.

Because once she ended her show (of which her sexuality was never discussed- remember her drooling all over Tom Cruise at every opportunity to what???? convince Us or the network that she wasn't really gay?????) Anyway, once her show ended- and she came out with her sexuality.........suddenly she was all over the news- promoting Gay marriage- attacking mainstream for her cause........I believe people should marry if they want- I believe people who love each other should live peacefully- and I believe we ALL should live without fear and prejudice........but I don't go around cramming my life down gay peoples throat and I don't want to have it happen to me with the assumption that I am somehow ignorant to their plight or somehow hateful of their lifestyle..........Rosie was more than willing to hide her real life as long as it paid her millions and millions of dollars. She knew to never discuss her lifestyle or her career as her 'children friendly' talk show would be over.........She is as much a hypocrit as she accuses Star Jones as being..........She's as guilty as anyone for putting on airs and lying to make a buck.....Shame on her.....

once again- it isnt about the haircut for you-u didnt say it- haircuts dont determine who grates on our nerves..that haircut implied she is a since she came out..and if u dont want to get it thats your right..its not you who said it-so I am not even ocncerned with what it means to u..thats your opinion.
Mine is that its homophobia..innuendo thats supposed to be in jest at the expense of her lesbianism..she is a person-and if she grates on your nerves thats all that need be said..the haircut came after she came out-and we all know what it means if we are honest enough to admit it-everyth8ing about that haircut was scrutinized during her coming out period and everything she said and did was explained a way..."ever since rosie came out she is ????".
None of know who rosie is ..when she did her show she was being a character..a public person. But the haircut being mentioned = innuendo about her being gay= a dyke = a dyke willing to open her mouth - the same mouth others keep closed.
Its not even subtle-so miss it or get it-thats up to you.
There is another concept to consider..heterosexism. And that means that when given a choice in a straight persons mind they favor heterosexual behaviour.
Even our language supports this-there is no real language for smae gender relations..its developing and thats because of acceptance.
Not so much in the US but other countries.

This is such total BS. A bad hair cut is a bad haircut regardless of ones sexuality. Rosie played out her internal struggle on National TV and became so angry at the phoney Rosie she had sold out to she became the anti Rosie.
For years she had sold herself as someone that she wasnt. She perpetuated that persona on America and people across America bought into what she was selling. She was a when she came out. She was angry and IMO directed alot of that outwards. Her haircut was ugly and her attitude was ugly.
I totally accept Rosie as a lesbian, but i dont accept her as a phoney or a . That personality trait sucks regardless of ones sexuality.

Dang- forgive my typos......I was on rant . Rosie is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. As someone else said- her NY pushy, bulldozer way of approaching people makes me sick. She is over the top aggressive and before someone says I have an issue with NY'ers - WRONG..........I love their openess and straight forwardness, to a point. I like a person who stands by their belief, even if that belief may mean losing something that matters.......A high paying job, for instance.
Rosie played a roll and compromised herself for it..........Tell me how that is different then her poking at o'l Star for not coming clean on her surgery choice? Star- as gross as she is- didn't owe the public an explanation anymore than Rosie did.........Rosie hid her choice or lifestyle for profit.......so did Star.......Rosie has criticized Star over and over in the public in an attempt to shame her when Rosie is the one who should be completely ashamed........She should have told her own network to shove it if they didn't like her lifestyle- yet instead, she agreed to hide it for the sake of cash.........AND, she lied......over and over again when she was caught with women.......Again, who gives a crap if she likes women- she just should have said she did and take her knocks just like she told Star to do...
