Thanks. Hmmm ... and I'm guessing there's no connection to anything he was working on, and no possibility he was looking into real estate investments.

He supports intenral Cisco IP telephony and customer troubleshooting with the "alpha" team from what's been stated at trial. Everything is pretty virtual as this is all based on the internet with only some server based hardware, routers and other boxes that end up in either Cisco's or a customer's back office. Certainly there's no rationale for him to be googling maps for his job.

And unless he was planning on selling a kidney on ebay, I think RE investments were not in his immediate future....

LOL, good one. Normally in a marriage a least one spouse is somewhat fiscally responsible. In this one...eh...

Even ignoring the whole flurry of calls on July 12th, I just focused on the three calls from the home phone to his cell phone within a 35 minute period. Two of those calls while he was in the house. What was the reason for the 6:05 and the 6:34 calls? If she really was doing laundry and really did run out of detergent, why didn't she call him while he was at the store the first time? There was no immediate need for "green juice". The youngest daughter wanted milk and she got that. The oldest daughter wasn't awake. Why the sudden realization that they needed "green juice"?

I don't recall three calls from his home phone to his cell. There was one to find his phone, second one alleged to have been her, and when was the third call from the house?

Please go to maps.google.com. Start at timer, enter 27518, and see how long it takes you to zoom into the dump site. I just did it three times. The first time took over a minute (I didn't zoom in enough to see the street name so I missed it). The second time took 23 seconds because I knew exactly where I was going on the screen. The third time took about 25 seconds. But do it an honestly report back the amount of time it takes you on your first attempt. He didn't sit there and look at it for 41 seconds. That is the total time of the search if I'm not mistaken.

It took me 1:12 seconds but I am not familiar with the area. Knew a couple of road names...that helped. BC lived there 8 years.

Then I did an area where I live and it was 40 seconds no problem. Knowing where I wanted to go and the main road made it quick and easy.

Below, in red, is a quote of what I wrote the day of the Fielding Dr. testimony.

I was there. (Remember that big THUD you heard this afternoon?) It was Fielding Dr.

The witness for this testimony was very well spoken and to the point. He boiled down difficult techo-speak for the jury and made it simple to understand. In a nutshell, Brad had to manipulate the map to get over Fielding Dr. and then zoom in several times. I do NOT think the defense will argue that it is not Fielding Dr.

ETA--The way they showed the "zooming in" was to re-create the search on a clean computer. They went through the steps to see what had to be done to get to that
image on google maps. They had it all on a power point presentation.

In the days that followed, I have crept back toward the fence. On cross, Detective Chappell was uncooperative and evasive, and he stonewalled in a big way. When he finally gave answers, they impeached some of his testimony regarding his report, (specifically about time stamps and cookies). I have pages of notes. I don't edit when I take notes, I just write it all down. When he was pinned down, he seemed less than truthful.

Another thing that keeps me at least near the fence is the testimony of the CPD/Detectives/Daniels. If they are telling the truth, why are they hiding behind each other? Why are they being evasive? And I don't believe for one second that they didn't suspect BC from day one. I don't believe they didn't go in knowing JA's concerns that she shared in the phone call to CPD. I don't believe they followed BC for his protection. If they did, why is what he bought at the grocery store relevant? Why did they not have the children under 24-hour protective survaillence? I don't believe that they didn't tape BC's multiple interviews because they "didn't have access to a recorder." I don't believe AS hadn't conferred with them before the custody deposition.

Again, I believe BC probably did it, but the way much of the investigation and the testimony were handled lead me to doubt the information that they are testifying to. If they would just let the truth speak for itself, I'd have an easier time with it all.

Well, I had to be out almost all day, and it appears I didn't miss much? Anything big or interesting happen at all? I read through most of the posts, but nothing really caught my attention.

When Detective Danials was being questioned today about the second trip to Ht he said it was required...because the first two simulated calls failed...so he had to try again!!

You missed the "evidence buffet." I'm stuffed! ;)

FD, is this also true? I read it on another site.

My understanding from people in the courtroom that day, that I have read on other sites, is that in those 41 seconds, he searched on 27518, zoomed in and scrolled around to a few areas, that the Jury only saw the images from Fielding Dr. not the other areas. That the images of Fielding Dr showed no drainage pond , no steets, just some graded areas. We don't the what areas he viewed first, or if Fielding Dr was first or last. We also don't know if he was already zoomed in when he was over Fielding Dr.

Hey, this may have been discussed before, but was wondering if we know whether the custody judge had visibility to the google search bit prior to making the custody decision?

I'm going out for a quick run--I'll check my notes and respond when I get back. Later, taters!

I think I also heard Det. Daniels say that he felt the altercation happened around 1:00 a.m. Brad then did some clean up ( floors and garage I think) and then moved the body to the dump site around 4:00 a.m. (right when Katie was waking up I guess). I had not heard this before today

So he's hooped!

It sounds like the afternoon today was little more than the defense lawyer wasting time to delay presenting his case. I wonder if the defense will rest and take their chances with the jury.

Cody - it was date stamped. Time was between 1:14 and 1:15pm 7/11/08. Images from BC's work computer hard drive clone. As far as the image goes, if I took a picture of you three years ago in front of your azalea bush which you cut down a month later, and then took one today they would both be of you and be recognizable. The main roads have not changed and the distance between points x and y have not changed. The tornados changed the landscape, but the land is still there. The maps have changed superficially. Doesn't change the fact that BC manipulated that map with a closed hand icon to find Fielding Drive/Brittaby Ct. Even if he typed in his zip code.

Thanks..I understood what the witness was saying, the fact you were there and could see it for your own eyes is fantastic. There will be some that challenge what you say, even though you were an eyewitness to the testimony

I am having the same problem you are with losing credibility in the testimony of the Detectives.

The NC cell phone issue REALLY bothers me after seeing the probable cause documents, hearing Det. Dismukes conversation with HP and listening to Det. Young testify about how he was not aware of the capabilities of smartphones and the data that could be important evidence contained on them. That was a boldface lie coupled with the fact that he "mistakenly" erased the cell phone and did not notify the defense team nor mention that fact in the search warrant for the phone which was obtained AFTER he erased the phone. That is a huge problem for me and leads me to believe they are capable of lying and tampering with evidence.

I agree and this bothers me too. Given JA's call to the police they must have been looking at him, and we know they were, but they refuse to admit it. I think that hurts their credibility. This is not enough to put me on the fence, I think if you actually review the testimony, as opposed to the news stories or the tweets, there is a great amount of damning evidence.

But denying the obvious looks bad. Why not just put the facts out there and let the jury decide? This is not a game.

I don't think they will rest without producing witnesses. I expect Scott H. and Mike H. to be called to counter the Nancy friends. I expect a phone and computer expert. I expect their own bug expert. We also heard of two late witness additions after the state began their case and then the sherriff or somebody in the court came to the judge and said he had been subpoenaed just recently. That's the short list. MOO

there was no Judge in the room, but a Judge was available by phone during the questions.
If you listen to the depos after hearing the evidence it sure sounds that they knew certain questions to ask...
suicide? the area where the body was found?etc
