Maybe she told them she saw the jogger on Sunday morn.

I think this is going to be sad. The prosecution is going to have to discredit her recollection of the events.

I have no doubt she believes this and she was trying to help - but she's not going to do well on cross based on her tendency to get confused.

what did she see on the flyer....woman missing after going for a morning jog?

She said that she saw the picture of the person who was missing and was certain that it was the jogger she saw the previous morning.

but the jury will not like JR. being rude to her.

RZ does not KNOW the girl on the flier. She saw a female run by who LOOKS like the female on the flier. Does she routinely see female runners when she's out walking her dog.

But she recognized her from the flier. That is the reason they put the photo of a missing person on the flier. Just because she doesn't personally know her, does not mean it should be ignored.

I am concerned about how she is confused about the days though.

Another one that didn't get the attention she wanted so she contacted the defense. Oh snap!!! Bringing race into it....

  • #367
she seems so happy to have someone pay attention to her

  • #368
I think prosecution is gonna have her for lunch.

I've heard this more than once, still waiting for pros to effectively cross anyone. They are not going to get a bigger softball than this witness.

Having said that, even with the confused days - if she walks her dog once a day on that route, and saw the flyer on the Sunday walk, it reasons she saw the jogger Saturday.

we'll see - cross is up

Oh dear....she's getting a 'tude with the State.

How true. This lady clearly believes what she saw, but I think she is confused. She also described exactly what the posters said about NC - exact height and weight. I find that inprobable.

However, the CPD didn't follow up, which points to tunnel vision and that the CPD did not investigate all leads. Maybe this is what the defense is banking on? Surely they knew how she would come across on the stand.

Cummings clarifies (for the defense I might add) that she walked her dog Sat and Sun only, not during the week. 2 days: day one she saw the jogger, day two she saw the flyer. Helps clear up her own confusion.

a he or a she dog. lol funny/cute way of asking

  • #373
Cummings is being very nice to this witness.

  • #374
got a glance of the jogger. Not much time to evaluate all the details of the human face,
to say for sure that this was "that girl" that went missing.

  • #375
She is easily suggestible it would appear.

I think cummings has been strong on cross. He's right to be very nice to her. He's getting her comfortable with him.

It would most definitely make me nervous too, especially if I thought I was just trying to do the right thing and that anything I might say could be picked apart by the opposing side and then later on the news...

I think it is often why people don't come forward.

Cummings is being very nice to this witness.

and he should be - as noted - being not nice will not score any points with the jury.

She said that she saw the picture of the person who was missing and was certain that it was the jogger she saw the previous morning.

She also said the jogger had an I-Pod.

The witness said she maybe saw NC at Place X.
The police were already searching Place X.
What other information was this witness supposed to provide to the investigation?
Why would the police need to follow up with her. They already know her full report.
"I saw someone that looked like NC at Place X."
She had and has nothing else to share.
