Wow, great attempt at deflection there... I guess.

Yep! That's the operative word, 'attempt...'

I'm personally not feeling it!

JMO, but maybe the owner of the unknown prints at scene of crime??

IMO that doesn't amount to much compared to the mountain of circumstantial evidence that points directly at Jason. But again....jmt.

I think he's angling that a lot of what was on the WD suit was prepped by Wake County/CCBI, etc. I think it's safe to say he will tie it all in together to be the reasoning behind the non-response to the WD LS. Not from the perspective of not enough dough, but from the perspective that it was an extension of this investigation. It was also prior to indictment/arrest, etc. involved Agent's of the SBI, DA's office, etc.

It's going to be interesting. I might have missed where he's headed with the financial side.

that last line of questioning by Klink was like grasping at straws to me. I didn't see any purpose to it at all and it seemed very desperate to me. Totally meaningless as far as I could tell. It was like "if I ask enough about these it will give someone the impression there is something here to look for" pfft is what I say.

I thought he was going to bust on the plaintiff's attorney for getting a million bucks without much evidence of having spent a lot of time on it. But, he quit asking about it so not sure.

Klinkosum was showing how frivolous some of the monetary charges were, even the smallest ones.

I look at it like this, had Jason answered the WDS and was found guilty of being a slayer by the evidence presented, that would mean much more, than being named slayer simply because you did not respond.

However, there is no glossing over the slayer title and I am not even going to try to.

I disagree.

This seemed to be where the questions were more important than the answers; Klink's questions was attempting to deflect. It was transparent and a failure, at least from my POV.

The defense did make it clear that the wrongful death decision was based on the testimony of detectives that did not reveal evidence pointing away from Jason - the unknown prints.

I thought Klink was trying to emphasize the cost of retaining attorney and fighting for custody. I could be wrong. I want to relisten to this tonight.

That's what I thought too, gg. Which is why I mentioned civil lawyers working on a percentage basis.

Custody attorney vs. civil wrongful death suit attorney vs. criminal attorney.

He would have needed all three.

Right. For custody cases, it's usually done on an hourly basis. There's no cap on it. You also have costs of depositions, expert witnesses, etc. A top attorney may charge over $300.00 per hour. It could cost in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Yes, I remember the hearing when Klinkosum was asking for the WDS files.

This is not a good day for the defense.......

:seeya:

Have a nice dinner.!

We are back, Jurors are absent.

Collins is bringing something up...

Anyone hear what it was about?

Something about.."having something in their hand" ."where did you get that from"
and pointed to someone......

I don't fully understand what this is about ... but it seems like the previous ruling, where he chose to remain silent due to the criminal investigation, is being used against him ... it seems like a circular situation ... he wasn't guilty, but found guilty because he remained silent, and now that is being used to prove that he's guilty. Confusing.
