No kidding, RC. Another person's DNA on hose. Could JY have had help?

partial DNA profile obtained from print on sheetrock item 7.1: JLY cannot be excluded as possible source from that sample and this is relatively strong in terms of a match.

jewelry box: 5 markers obtained. consistent w/female & mixture from more than 1 person. Not JLY & not MY.

sprinkler: 8 markers obtained. male DNA. not either MY or JLY.

rock: only 3 total markers obtained, but JLY cannot be excluded as possible source from that sample.

MY excluded from sheetrock 7.1 and rock 6.1

I thought Kurtz showed respect to every single witness on both sides. I can't say the same for the prosecution team.

So what if he 'showed respect' to every single witness? You think that doesn't make him sleezy? IIRC, his usual clients are drug dealers. He makes his money trying his hardest, most of the time, in getting guilty people off. IMO, I put him in the same catagory as the proverbial 'used car salesman', back before 'Car Fax'. 'This vehicle was only driven by a little old lady, back and forth to church on sunday..............' :woohoo: I couldn't do it, wouldn't want to be married to a man who did earn his living 'getting guilty people off from their crimes'. Now if you want to talk someone like Morris Dees Southern Poverty Law Center or something, whole 'nother story. But would I want to be Mrs. Mark Gerragos, no way in hell.

Cody, I think the JY having help or contracting the murder was tossed about by LE for quite some time. I seem to recall that being raised long ago. I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility.

However, jmo, Michelle was murdered in a rage - 30 blows minimum according to Dr. Clark - someone was really ticked off with her. No evidence of anyone outside the home being that angry with her, but JY did tell Meredith it would be worse if he divorced her. I tend to think JY meant that.

The water sprinkler was from the Hampton Inn - not the hose at the Birchleaf Residence - just to clarify.

I'm sorry, but there's no way he entered that room the night of the murder, without gloves.

He HAD to at least thought of that and it's worked out well for him.

As far as his dna on the wall, it would be expected, he lived there. The hand print had no MY dna. Therefore, no blood, so it could be from anytime.

Ok, I was typing and didn't hear what pros crossed with.

Blood & fingerprint-wise, there's not much that ties JLY to this murder. Maybe one print on sheetrock (item 7.1).

We know he had gloves because we could see them on top of the newspaper he was carrying as he walked out of the H.I. near midnight on 11/2/06

Thanks. I just caught that the print was at the Hotel.

What happened to the picture? Is the trial in recess?

  • #91
IMHO, I've missed some of the trial due to my daughter's wedding, (which went off beautifully, I might add :)), but have they already established that Cassidy was changed? and brought forward to the jury that the clothes Jason was seen LAST at the Hampton Inn, are missing??????????

TIA

The CSI effect has taken hold. Perps have gotten much smarter & more informed about covering up, avoiding leaving their own DNA, wearing gloves, getting rid of clothes, shoes and items tying them to a crime. More cleanups in general (though not in this case) to erase signs of a struggle.

I bet we will continue to see less and less DNA tying an educated perp to a crime, and more other kinds of evidence, like digital, in it's stead.

Cassidy's clothes were changed, however she had on no diaper. If you recall Shelly Schaad - she testified Michelle put Cassidy to bed with a diaper.

Yes, a certain shirt for sure has not been recovered, not clear to me what other clothing items may be missing. JTF knows though, perhaps he will jump in and comment.

And does so without regret or emotion. He can be extremely steely and doesn't like cold-blooded killers. I've always liked Judge Stephens. You know he had a twin brother, also a judge but I believe he's retired now. Isn't it Ronald Stephens? Donald and Ronald?

JS's wife, Linda Stephens, is also a judge.

I totally agreee!

IMHO, the Cooper case for computer and phone evidence, and this one for video, even at hotels and such, may be what will replace 'dna' as the lynch-pin, in many cases. We even had one case, an abduction (etc:() that a Target parking-lot camera, showed the actual crime of abduction! It was truly horrifying, but at least it helped LE get their man!........too late for the victim, I might add) :(

The email I remember was to his sister. He said something about the 'other husband,' or was it 'wife?' and how it was still unsolved (at that time! ;)) and how no one remembered their name.

I remember cuz it pizzed me off! I posted their name in case he and she read here!

Now Raven will be up after Jason! :behindbar
