State wants answers from Baez

I think that HHJP will be gentle with Mr Baez as he has been in the past. HHJP wants this trial to start on time with no appealable issues. If Mr Baez is prevented from practising, even for a few days, it would affect the trial. If the expert testimony was to be excluded it would also be complained about during appeal. The only avenue I see available to HHJP is a monetary penalty.

Boy, Mr. Baez has put himself in quite the corner, eh? What's he going to say? The judge writes poorly? This should be good.

I must be punchy tonight, I am finding this hilarious.

YOur comment is why I just HAD to repost the Judges order. Doesn't sound like he is going to buy the 'confused' part.

JB and CM will have to explain how they can be confused, etc.. after he spent all that time in court helping them understand..and allowing any and all questions about the subject.

I personally can not wait for this show to begin. Sounds like it's going to be a good one. Dang, I work Tuesday.

Look down Fluffy Puppy! I'm still chuckling to myself at that well worded motion......

Umm, Mr. Baez? Don't bother unpacking..... :ufo:

I think this is spot on about Casey not admitting her guilt and her lawyers are doing the best they can (which isn't much)with whats left.
In her mind she is not guilty, as if she wasn't seen committing the crime, no one can say for 100% sure that she did, therefore it wasn't her. Aided and abetted by her parents no doubt, who through all the evidence contrary, support her not guilty position.

This is where I feel Casey gives herself away, she is utterly contemptuous of her parents, especially her mother, for their continued support in the face of her obvious guilt, Cindy going so far as to claim Caylee is still alive.

I think Casey also feels very noble and the role she is playing is one of the martyr, unfairly judged by the ugly masses and found guilty by reason of jealously and malicious intent (and bloggers haha)... She will be found guilty and strut to her cell as though she has done something honorable...

I believe her lawyers can't control her any more than her parents could and there is nothing left except the penalty phase and mitigating circumstances. When you have a client that not only lies to everyone but lies to herself the best bet would have been to plead out, an alternative no longer on the table..

I think JB certainly bit off more than he could chew and as his options diminish I bet he feels he would have been better off never having heard of Casey Anthony.

I love your post Scamperoo. You literally hit the nail on the head, said it the way it is. CA and GA allowed her to lie her whole life and get away with it. ICA figured this would work with everyone else too including LE. hehehe sorry ICA you are done... :seeya:

Yeah she really adopted that martyr persona - with the "protecting the family" nonsense. So bizarre.

That's a good way to put it. Considering that everyone knows about his tricks and lies - he will not acquit himself well imo. The judge is probably sick of this stuff as well. Hope he enjoyed drinkies in Chicago because next week won't be fun for him. Hope Ashton and Burdick can contain their laughter.

Don't think anyone asked for anything to be excluded. I think the request was for the defense to be held in contempt. Big difference. That wouldn't delay the trial or be an appealable issue.

I agree with you. They are looking at a monetary penalty. Ya know, out of their own pocket. Which will NOT effect the trial in any way, shape or form. ICA will not be punished, and shouldn't. And tax payers shouldn't pay for it either!

Very similar to Judge Strickland's response when he resigned.JP makes his point.
Than God this month only has 28 days! Can't wait til March 2!

I wonder exactly who will argue this tho, the last time it was mommie mason who tried to bail out the "young and inexperienced" baez. This time, I am looking forward to the "confused" baez himself standing before Judge Perry.

:great:

"However, the defense has not yet complied with this direction," Perry wrote in his order today. "Indeed, despite the clarity of language utilized in the order, the defense claims to be confused as to its meaning."

The hearing will give the defense an opportunity to show why it has failed to comply with the order.

And to add insult to injury, Baez still hasn't complied with the order. Why is he just ignoring what he needs to bring up at the Frye Hearing? Does he not know the true meaning of it? :loser:

This man is just doing as he pleases, has no reasonable defense or he would have at least handed in what was needed, even after the deadline..I wonder if Baez is "begging" to be taken off this case. It's too big and way too complicated for him, IMO....JMHO
