State wants answers from Baez

ITA. JB is not clever. He's not smart. He does not have a plan to "thwart" the SA. He's in over his head and he doesn't have a clue what he's doing or what he's supposed to do.
If he did have a clue, he wouldn't know how to do it. :loser:

I have one question:
WTF is CM doing?!?

When CM first signed on he was interviewed and when asked why he joined Baez, he said he was 'Sick of seeing what was going on down there"- I took it to mean he thought Baez was a moron who was embarrassing the legal profession., and he was coming on board to straighten things out...
But, it seems all he does is whine and get confused too, because he hasn't even done anything to teach JB about legal procedure, how to write a motion, Court etiquette, basic things.:banghead:

:seeya: I know....having "fun".........

I don't think the 'fun' phase lasted very long.
Once he found out he was going to do most of the work, for nothing, he started getting very irritable...

above from Musikman's post in the hearings thread...
I don't think I can even begin to explain my anger with this. Oh, today has been epic (and stupidly deliberate, imho, more about that later.) However, this is reprehensible. REP RE HENS I BLE... Mr "Big Boss" (har) throws the newbie (intern? first job?) under the bus for your eff up. Oh holy something. This one just sets me on fire. When (in the long ago land of corporate america wherein I worked)... When I I had a bullet to eat, I ate it. When my team had a bullet to eat, I ate it. Because it was my job, my team, and my responsibility. Hey, Jose, Cheney, I've got a new internet acronym for y'all to learn...begins with "g" letter, letter and ends with "o" and would violate TOS.

...and fwiw, he knows he's in trouble

I heard better arguements from my kids when they wrote their initials on the wall and then denied they did it.....even my mom in the dark days of dementia had better arguements --- (and let me tell you I was always quesitoning what she said vs. the reality--awful horrid disease)---It is sad that it is all about him---he isn't trying to "save" ICA from the dp---he is trying to create this super imposed super human lawyer he believes himself to be...

Loved when he stated that SA didn't even quote law.....

:banghead: Is it tomorrow yet????????????

It is a horrid disease. It takes a loved one away one piece at a time. Please accept this hug from one who understands.

This whole Hadden vs State excuse was about as far from that unique in stature sized brain that day in court as it was from mine. Just like the traffic excuse. To take that amount of CYA time and blame it on the State is :banghead:
The next two days should be quite interesting~

Also, he turns off his hearing aid and sleeps through hearings. He is extremely disrespectful with his "good ole' boys" attitude. I thought I'd crack a window screeching at my netbook when he talked about the "little deputies."
:banghead:

Not to mention, see siggy below.

Wel, its's al your'e fallt for making me distracted to yur tpying and confusing me so tewwibwy that i forgot the dedlines.

I splained this for times already! I filled my briefs, Judge! :floorlaugh:

That's a really good question. I wonder if CM has come to the end of his patience with Baez. I'd think that Baez's describing CM as being 'equally confused if not moreso' (not exact quote) than himself in the email to Judge P's assistant could not have been pleasant to learn of, then have repeated across the media for days. I think CM was chagrined when the initial sanctions were called for and then ordered. Perhaps CM will no longer be sitting back in his chair and staring into space while Baez runs wild (lol) in the courtroom.

I suppose there is the possibility that CM is somewhat complicit in these tactics and drafting of motions. But somehow, I think not.

Does anyone think CM will soon wrest control of the case before Baez drives himself and their case into a wall?

Yes, he explained and explained that he has no problem with the PROCESS the expert used to find chloroform, just with the...um...methodology...or something. Did anyone else understand WTH he was talking about? :waitasec:

I had to use his vacuum cleaner analogy. But tweaked to suit me. He's not arguing that a vacuum sucks up dirt. It's when we empty the bag and say, "Hey, look at all this dirt," he has a problem with.
It makes no sense to me. Why have a vacuum not in question and it only has one job, and then say your finding dirt can be called into question?

Now I have no clue. But freely admit it. CM seems to vacillate between distancing himself from the marvels that are JB and acting like he is taking the wayward lad under his wizened wing, trying to teach him how to find a good seat at a KISS concert.

I will say that neither one has argued a motion worth its salt yet, always harping on money and trying to deflect blame. I thinik these two are like peas in a rancid pod.

I think perhaps CM's plan was to talk ICA into a plea deal and take a huge bow - like LP before him.

He ran into the brick wall of ICA's stubborn lies and JB's lack of knowledge. Somehow, he got tripped up by the timing and, after JAC started paying the bills, he couldn't get out - like all the other members of the "dream team" did. Neither ICA or JB seem obedient or inclined to listen to good advice. They both need enormous attitude adjustments. (CM does, too.)

I just can't imagine how frushtrating - for all involved - it must be to have to try to deal with JB and remain professional. I know I'd have blown up long ago.

Hoo, moi? :innocent:

:gthanks:

I think after tomorrow, I shall refer to JB as Lump-kins.

Holy crap on a cracker! I shouldn't be laughing, it is no laughing matter, a child is dead, a womans life hangs in the balance - and yet these petty, moaning emails are killing me. What the hell? Where is the professionalism? You never, never emote in business dealings or correspondence - rule 101.

Baez is small of stature and a small man in every other way. At least he is well balanced, he has a chip on both shoulders.

Darnudes!! Post of the Day!!!!

I am hours behind everyone on the site because I ran around like a fool all day frantically getting everything done so I will be undisturbed tomorrow during the hearing. I can ignore a ringing phone! :loser:

And I have just read this....this...Motion Baez just wrote objecting to the SA's motion for sanctions et al, and I am sitting here stunned. I don't know what to say.....Have you ever read such rubbish in your life? He's not even coherent FGS!

So thank you for what you've said - I'd like to piggy back on your words and say "Yah - Me Too".

What a piece of work that guy is, even if he is a defense lawyer! And what a crock he wrote.:pullhair: Here, Baez, have some worms and I hope you remember the words to the song :worms:

Those are some really good points about why CM has not bailed by now....though everything seems to say GET OUT NOW! he can't.

I agree with you about the difficulty of dealing with Esq. Baez and remaining professional, tactful, and focused. I find myself hoping that CM will start to steer the defense efforts with a firm hand. Otherwise? (I am feeling very silly tonight), I have this mental image of CM super-gluing Baez to his chair.... then, undeterred, Baez wheels himself and chair up to the podium, flattening CM's boot toes in the process.... lolol

I seriously hate to even verbalize this thought, but I have to ... does anyone feel that before this trial even begins, JB will be found incompetent, a new defense attorney will be assigned, and the trial date will be reset? It's been my fear forever and by even typing this, I feel I may be jinxing things, but just had to find out if anyone other than myself has had this thought cross their mind.

Okay who wants to break it to Jose that he DOES NOT have 3 months until the start of this trial?

"This issue has forced the undersigned to stop focusing on a capital case in which the trial is just three months away and defend himself instead of his client"

Wishful thinking Jose. You have about 67 days buddy, hardly three months!!!:seeya:

I know we laugh and jeer and shake our heads at his ridiculous posturing, and nonsense motions, but according to AZ, nothing he has or hasn't done has even come close to incompetent lawyering.

Apparently as long and the defendant is happy with her lawyer, there is no rule that lawyer needs to be a good one.

And if the Bar has issues with this latest complaint, it will most likely take at least as long as the trial will last or longer to finish the investigation and make a decision about whether to proceed or not.

Weird, eh? Who knew this would be acceptable lawyering. And I think Baez will stick to this one as hard as he can because he needs to complete it to become death penalty-trial certified.
