Status of Ronalds Plea Deal

Let's get back on track about Ron's plea deal in this thread. Thanks!

I think Ron is working with the State, trying to hammer out a deal that involves what he knows about Haleigh. I bet he wants immunity, or 15 years.

ITA and I bet he gets it. That bus has been warming up for quite a while now. I am totally prepared for him skating or just getting 15--if it was a second more, I would faint. ALL, JMO.

I wonder if hes saying, I will tell you what happened to Haleigh if you drop my drug charges, and give me a manslaughter charge, which would be considerable less than what hes about to get, because there is nothing he can do and offer the State on anyone else in these drug charges, people dont get deals for testifying at someones sentence date.

I think hes playing hardball, and maybe the State is conflicted, they want to know, but the cost may be too high. I really dont know. But any deals he will get have to involve something other than the drugs, and he isnt offering to be an informant, well, if he is, he cant do it in public, Tommy tried, but cops said hes too known, well if hes known, then Ron sure is.

I have a feeling Ron is going to implicate someone other than himself and play the game he didn't know until way after the fact, and he was just scared, who knows, but I bet its about to get interesting.

Or, he going to plead no contest and get a sentencing date, and hopefully get 25 years minimum.

Given the character limit on twitter I guess I didn't make the point clearly. I wanted Misty to rat out Ron instead of the same BS on cousin Joe. That was the point of the post...

I really don't wanna be "Debbie Downer," but I have a feeling that no pleas and nothing will come of HaLeigh's trial as they are all in for drugs now and they prolly figger hey... I'm in here already, why fess up to more. That's just MOO, and I hope I'm wrong... but...

In jail, out of jail--they aren't going to tell what happened. They've all moved way beyond Haleigh, IMO. They are merely in a bind now, that's all...this is just a "setback" in their lives. In a few years, all the attention will die away, and then they will be set free. We will never even hear about that when it happens; it will be done quietly and without ado, and life will just go on as usual in PC.

WOW!! AH actually said something I agree with!!

My thinking is that with Misty pleading no contest, and dodging a trial, prosecutors don't really need Ron to send her up the river for drugs. so perhaps to ensure favorable treatment of his pending plea deal -- 15 years if he rats out his ex, he's digging deep to come up with something that will go in his snitch account and towards sealing his deal. He doesn't care about anyone else. Art

Ron has to plea on Friday, correct? I hope the SA stamps a big red denied on the plea deal he is trying to get.

Cummings, 26, will be in court in Putnam County Friday. His attorney said a deal has been reached to drop the two most serious trafficking charges and sentence Cummings on three others.

Attorney Terry Shoemaker said Cummings would testify if asked to in the sentencing hearings against Misty, who he divorced in October, and has talked with investigators about Haleigh’s case.

The only thing I would think he could say was he tried and tried to talk her out of it to no avail so went along just to protect this dumb head strong girl from the mean drug people ... If the tapes that are most incriminating against RC are the charges dropped, he might be able to pull something off. But, even though dropped, they still happened and I bet the judge is aware of them. But it was said he would testify against her if asked. She could also testify against him when his sentencing comes down.

Either the SA and PCSO are doing a really good proproganda media blitz for the purpose of shaking Misty ..........or they aren't gonna ask Ron anything.

I have felt from day 1 that the sheriff's office didn't want to press Ron and this is their chance to ask him. I hope they take it. I just am not gonna hold my breath waiting. I seriously have concerns about this whole investigation. It has been single minded and without deviation from Misty from the first day. I am not saying Misty is innocent. I am saying the police don't want any information that might indicate she is.

I hope the SA and PCSO will take this chance to talk to Ron under oath about what he knows of Halegh's disappearance. I just don't think they will.

If RC testifies against Misty at her sentencing hearing, he will be under oath but Haleigh's homicide is not the subject of this trial. He would not be asked at this hearing.

IMO if Ron gets a deal and Haleigh is not found before this deal, then something is really wrong! Why would the State give Ron a deal? He was caught red handed as the rest of them were and he is the one with the most priors...he is not a first offender and it is an insult to even consider a deal IMO. :furious:

PALATKA -- 15-year prison sentences given to others caught dealing drugs with Misty Croslin worry her.

Lewis said Cummings is a possible witness against Croslin, though no decision about that has been made. Cummings will be in Putnam County court Friday, possibly with a deal for a 15-yr sentence.

I was skimming some older AH articles to refresh my memory on what Shoemaker has stated about the deal. I came across this:

Even if they agree to agree, Ronald's attorney Terry Shoemaker has made it clear, that a judge won’t endorse any deal until all the drug defendants are tried, and Ronald’s value will be evaluated, and rewarded with a sentence reduction, or not.

I hope that puts you somewhat at ease, MADJ.
If he hasn't given the state anything worthy, no deal. If he does get one it won't be much, imo.
