Exactly. SP's father didn't allow mom to keep kids. SP didn't allow his ex to keep the kids. And Josh wasn't going to allow Susan to take kids either. That's the Powell way. The men are in charge, and the women are only good for their bodies!

One thing that I have wondered about is there are no reports (that I have seen) about JP being unfaithful. Raised the way he allegedly was, I would have expected that he would have at least tried to have other women or maybe would have had "professional" women.

(again I am going to refer to my personal reference file!) I know a guy who experienced molestation as a young boy. He has truly big sexual hangups and considers all sex dirty. He has tried to overcome this with no success. So I can agree Gwenabob there is a big Clue to Josh's disfunction. I suppose one either embraces the notion/act or rejects sexual acts all together.... maybe?

The other thing irking me at the moment: JP's slanderous statements about Susan running outside in her underwear: have any of you seen LDS/Mormon women's garments ("underwear")? They are less revealing than any single piece bathing suit I have ever seen and more modest than many many summer outfits. Even if Susan was outside in her "underwear" which is questionable, her body was less revealed than many American women in their outerwear.

My prayers for LE: Godspeed in searching and finding Susan.

When I was thinking about him saying that, I was wondering if he wasn't chasing her at the time and she got scared enough of him that she ran outside in her underwear. Of course, him being the way he is, sees only that she's 'crazy' for going outside in her underwear.

The other thing that came to me runs along the theory of her being poisoned. If he had been trying out drugs in her food, maybe that was the first time and the side effects of that drug produced anxiety or fear and she felt like she was losing her mind so she ran outside.

I highly doubt she walked outside like that just to take a stroll. The crazy ones like JP and SP try to paint their victims as the crazy ones.

I don't know, of course, if this actually happened or not but I got a thought that maybe SP wanted the children with him because he has a problem with child and maybe..........you know...... that's why he wanted the children with him. Someone suggested maybe JP has the same problem and maybe he does so maybe one of the boys did tell his mother something.

I'm sure he used it as power and control. Any person that wants to be in control withholds affection.

Another possibility that night was considering Susan wasn't allowed to use the computer, maybe when he took the boys sledding, Susan started searching things out on it.

I mean a woman can only take so much and then they start to become rebellious. If I was told I couldn't use a computer, that is the first thing I would do when they were out of my sight. I would be searching out the history and hidden files.

Poor Susan I truly believe she didn't have a chance, she really didn't know to what extent these people were capable of.

He has some type of problem, he was photographing women's legs when he was at parks etc. The rotten apple didn't fall far from the tree.

JP has ruined smores for me, almost pancakes and now any guy at a park with a camera I will be looking at totally different. Yikes!

BBM. I think JP is much like his father and also has a thing for children. I still also think Susan became aware of this from Josh also having photos like his father and that's what lead to her murder.

Or maybe he got addicted to and no longer felt turned on by his wife. It could also explain his going into agreement with SP about LDS - he was not able to maintain expected ethical standards and fell out of communication with the LDS community. MOO.

LOL. I don't think anybody does. Except maybe the warbler himself. Maybe his jailers are letting him sing all the inmates to sleep at night. Could that be considered cruel and inhumane punishment?

What you said here struck a chord with my. My ex also didn't seem to like sex. I found out 2 years later that he was addicted to . Like father (SP), like son (JP). Maybe Susan found the that day, and that was the last straw to her already failing marriage. She threatened to leave, he wouldn't allow it. Here we are today, still wondering where poor Susan is.

I do think that men can become so addicted to that they "prefer" to "real" sex; and they will only want the real thing on occassion. I have witnessed it first hand, and it is humiliating to be the spouse in such a situation.

It says the boys got VERY upset in March 2010 (their last visit with the Coxes) when they were told the visit was over. Read the piece. Remind you of anyone else? Zahra Baker. She was staying at a friend's house for a day and when told her 'parents' were there to take her home, she got very angry and ran and hid in the closet and told them "I hate you!" because they were making her go home. And we know what was going on at home. If these boys got THIS upset at going home, something definitely very bad was happening at the Powell House of Horrors to them.

I don't know, but hope it all comes out with the right type of counseling and trust. I noticed how nervous JP got that they were even getting a counselor.
