Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, Is Dead

Steves Poem
The hunter had to leave us, he won't travel on our shores.
At that, the largest in the pack let out a sad, long, roar.........
The koalas had a teardrop, the dingos had some too.......the Croc's
stood at attention, as the Aussies knew they would.
The animals got silent...the jungle became still....Some leaves bent down to
touch the ground, and the flowers turned to wilt.
For the man they loved "downunder," has left his land of birth. But his heart and soul, and wisdom......remain right here on Earth.
And as the night stars came aglow the world shed many tears.
But......a whisper could be heard nearby, that rang into our ears.
"By Crikey Mates, Good Day, Good Night......"
I had to say "goodbye" .......
But, "hold my children and my wife and please don't let them cry."
And as he turned and walked away..... we felt the whole earth pray......
And in our hearts we know that.... we will meet again oneday.

I posted that I agreed with Scandi.So I was as guilty.But I did change my mind and requested a retraction.
To belittle someone without reading all posts prior to posting is disrespectful.

I am sorry you were offended but i was offended as well. plus there were 8 pages to read through so i am sorry for that but not sorry for my feelings. Sorry if that upsets up but IMO no one should speak that way after someone dies...how would any of you feel if it had been your father....thats all i was trying to say....didnt want to fight...just trying to get a point across..

Don't feel bad, you didn't do anything wrong....you just didn't follow the thread properly and we are all guilty of doing that at times.

I think that, above all, Steve Irwin taught me not to fear animals, because they are what they are, but to have great respect for them, because they are, after all, animals.

It was a great credit to Steve's parents that he grew up with, not fear of animals, but rather with a healthy respect for animals, and a confidence with animals. I greatly admired him for the things he was able to accomplish with animals, simply because of his lack of fear, and rather due to his respect, and knowledge, of the animal he as working with, at the time. Steve worked with animals in the wild, where the animals belong. A single animal in his/her natural setting, and surroundings, can't ever be replaced by the thousands of animals that suffer an existence in today's zoos. Steve took us to new levels in our love and appreciation of animals, and for him to die any other way, than doing what he loved so much, would have truly been a tragedy, and I'm certain he would tell us that very same thing if he was here to talk about it. We need more Steve Irwins, in this world, and a lot less zoos, because I haven't ever witnessed a neurotic, psychotic, animal in the wild, but that is all I see whenever I go to a zoo.

Beacause of Steve, I can feed the scorpians and tranchula[sp] everyday at work. I am starting to get used to the snakes as well. Thanks Steve for all you have done and will do. I think as well we all better watch out for Bindi! She will follow in daddy's footsteps for sure

I stop at snakes:hand: I am so afraid of them. I do love all animals though and he sparked interest in many. I am so sad every time I see this thread.

Narlacat......Sure thats fine.......you can send it.......what an honor to even think of it......Now I could kick myself for not really doing a "SUPER" poem...but, it has lots of prayers and thoughts attached......so sure.
And I second the motion to everything you said in your list.....
