Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, Is Dead

I saw just a tad bit of Terry and Bindi with Ellen.....on her show.
How sweet they both are.
I hope they keep themselves busy just to not linger in grief.
I wish them luck in all their endeavors, where ever they might be.
There is such great sadness, but now they have to continue
Steves great legacy.......and they sure will......even though
there is no replacement for his zest and spirit.

I don't get why all these people are saying Bindi shouldn't be doing this so soon after her dad's death, or at all. This is what Steve would WANT them to be doing...going on with their lives and keeping his message alive.

I saw that show also and of course Bindi is adorable. I worry a little about about her comment that she wants to "be" her dad. It seems like a lot for her little shoulders. I think that time will tell.

From Larry King Live;

link with transcripts.

KING: Hey, you're the best, Bindi.

B. IRWIN: Thank you. Thank you very much.

KING: Your father is looking down. He's very proud of you.

B. IRWIN: Thank you. Thank you very much.

Hi d_s........good to hear from you:)

I believe the LKL/Irwin show will be repeated tonight (Sunday 14th) for those that missed it.

I was concerned about Bindi's remark and her mom's response because I feel Bindi is putting too much upon herself and needs to be Bindi, not her dad. They are a sweet family though. Bindi's upbeat and adorable personality is addicting!

I had not seen those photos. Yay that Terri wore something besides her zoo uniform, I'm guessing it was a dressy occassion? She sure had her khakis on for LKL and everything else I've seen her on lately.

I'm not bashing her or her kids but IMO it would do for them to have other interests (esp. the kids) besides the zoo and wildlife. JMO

Like what?

Shopping??

That certainly helps the world.

Terri 'scrubs up' well, bless her.

Was that a dig at my nic? It's not necessary for you to get snarky with me Narla. Just because you worship the Irwins does not mean anything less than praise from someone else means disapproval.

Yeah, I happen to think that Bindi needs other things in her life than working full time at the zoo. But that's MY OPINION, to which I am entitled.
So, she should wear different clothes and her kids should do something besides having a profound interest in life and helping our planet.

Sigh.

Nowhere did I say that what they do is wrong, just that there are other things they could do or have other interests in addition to the zoo. But anything other than lavish praise for them is miscontrued by you as bashing.

Get over yourself anyway, you don't have the market cornered on grief for Steve's death.
Nowhere did I say the word wrong, please direct me to where I said that.
What you said was:
<<but for Pete's sake, can Terri not wear anything but that khaki zoo uniform?>>
I kinda got the impression you were saying she should wear something different, silly me

Not everyone is into being a fashion statement, some people have bigger and better ideas.

I know someone who does cat rescue. It is all she does. She can afford the huge vet bills and has the space. But, it is an unhealthy obsession with her. She would at times call me up to 8 or 9 times a day to talk about her cats--often with no pertinent info on health or adoption--just to talk cats. It has nearly impossible to get her to speak on ANY other subject. This is unhealthy, and sh is unhappy.

The Irwins live their lives for their love of all animals and for conservation education to help and save our creatures. The khakis are part of their signature--an ever present reminder for what they love and believe in. It began with Steve. Terry and Bindi are continuing, and they love their khakis.

But, Terry and Bindi seem solid and well balanced. I do not know them; however, from everything I've ever seen they seem to be more stable and sound than most people. I do not believe there is any harm for them to wear khakis as a routine. Bindi is only 8, granted much more emotionally and mentally mature and stable than the average 8 year old. But, she is just 8. Yet, I see strength in her. She has a solid, loving, stable family, and I think Bindi and Bob are well loved and cared for. Bindi is doing what she loves to do.

I think that not only is each individual in the Irwin family an ideal world role model for goodness, but so are they as a family. Like I've said before. If we had more people like the Irwins in this world, we would have less wars. They are not perfect; no one is. But, I admire them. They are a role model for me, and I am an adult.

Why does it bother you that I think she could wear something besides the zoo uniform? Like I said, other professionals wear uniforms for their jobs but can manage to wear regular clothes. She has to represent the zoo 24/7? Since when does wearing something besides a uniform have to mean that I think she should be a fashion statement?

Sheesh, it was just an opinion and observation on my part. Feel free to ignore my posts re: her from now on since you don't tolerate anything other than praise for her.
Why does it bother you that she wears her khakis all the time?
She does represent the zoo 24/7, its her life.

These sweeet girls should be on tonight on Larry King.......
quite tearful it sure is looking to be.
I loved when Steve went on the shows with his Khakis...and the girls are a branch of him. Thats great.
It is an unusual set of circumstances that suits them well to wear these clothes........
They will have a legacy to uphold, and so far they are doing a grand job.
We can't do much more then hope to wish them well, still in their grief.
He was a one of a kind type of man......and so funny and enjoyable.
It is not the clothes that really matters......its how you lived......and if you lived your life as you had hoped. He did, and they will.........with blessings.

Honey, it's not like it keeps me awake at night. It was a freakin observation, and my opinion. You certainly spout yours off around here, others are allowed to do the same.

Fine, it's her life. She and her kids can hole up there and never leave the grounds if that's what makes them happy. That's all one can wish for another, whatever makes them happy. I just think that there can be other interests, that's all. But again, if that makes them happy then what I say shouldn't matter. Least of all to you.
I certainly do and of course others are allowed to do the same, but expect people to disagree with you...people disagree with me all the time....

They were, maybe still are in LA this week, what more could you want for your child than to travel the world doing good?
Doesn't get much better than that.

I think it's a sad world when people can pick on someone like Terri Irwin for the clothes she wears.

And Johnny Cash wore black, I don't see any threads commenting on that. Terri has other clothes, there has been pictures, Steve had other clothes - pictures again. Let her wear what she wants!
If you want to talk about what people should wear; Britney Spears should wear underwear.

Aussies urged to wear khaki to commemorate the late Steve Irwin

Just because we do not see many photos of Teri wearing clothing other than khaki, does not mean that she does not wear anything else but that. I am sure that she wears this during work and public interviews to support her late husband (trademark khaki wear) and the hard work that is still being done concerning wildlife.
