To frame a deadbeat like Avery as you put it, was worth a lot at the time to those implicated in his civil case who were being deposed.
to interject and hijack a murder?
or was it premeditated??
the implications of this are preposterous

BBM, Nobody really knows because there isn't conclusive evidence of what exactly happened. The crime scene is very dubious because there was no chain of evidence properly documented. With such a shoddy investigation it leaves a lot of doubt in people's minds, and rightly so IMO.

If the State of WI is so confident SA is guilty and they got it right , why won't they let KZ test the RAV?
What have they got to lose by allowing that?

  • #1,206
And also would you trust SC's evidence or Eisenburgs evidence for that matter?
SC contaminated one of her tests in the crime lab, and Eisenburg messed up royally in the Rudy case with her findings that weren't even what she said they were, in similar to this case with burnt remains in a fire pit. The foetus was actually found intact inside the deceased mother who's body was recovered, not cremains in the fire pit, Ooops!

Probably because they don't have the Rav4 anymore ? It's been 13 years and the car belonged to TH.

Yes apparently they do as i was informed recently by another poster upthread.

I doubt KZ would ask to test TH's vehicle if it was no longer available for testing

Three days after Steven Avery's post-conviction lawyer sustained a major setback in her quest to prove her client's innocence, Kathleen Zellner filed a motion asking Sheboygan judge Angela Sutkiewicz to grant Zellner permission to conduct a series of extensive forensic tests upon the Toyota RAV4 of murder victim Teresa Halbach.

'Making A Murderer': The Evidence You Didn't See, Straight From Kathleen Zellner
Bobby Dassey

Making A Murderer Part 2 vividly explains Zellner’s theory that Bobby Dassey is the real killer. Select parts of her reasoning were left out of the series, like Dassey’s claim he found a deer on the side of the road around the time of Halbach’s murder, hung it from the ceiling in his garage, and noted it was dripping with blood. The Dassey garage was never luminoled or tested forensically in any way, including for DNA, Zellner explained.

Zellner also revealed Bobby Dassey had three scratches on his back photographed in November of 2005. He claimed the scratches were from his six-week-old Labrador retriever. Zellner’s theory of Halbach’s murder, which she presented with expert trials on Making A Murderer Part 2, claims Halbach was killed during a struggle while lying on her back. She explained the scratches may have come from self-defense.

Bobby Dassey’s family also jokingly referred to Halbach as his girlfriend because of the attention he paid her. Halbach visited the Avery property five times in the summer of 2005. He was able to describe exactly what she was wearing after she died, which Zellner said is unusual.

“He describes her clothing in detail. How is an 18-year-old boy able to do that?” Zellner told Newsweek. “He's describing her jacket and the length of it and the colors of things. It's really unusual. I have four brothers, four younger brothers. They're not gonna be able — that's just so unusual that he was doing that.”
Here's the evidence you didn't see in 'Making A Murderer,' straight from Kathleen Zellner
ok
help me see what you see.

so bobby dassey is the real killer.
did he frame avery and the cops didn't frame avery after all??

or did the cops know dassey did it and gave him a free pass and set it all up to look like avery did it??

because these are the options I see being presented?

appreciate replies.:)

Apologies if someone brought this up already, but it appears there will be a series coming on the prosecution side of things.

Convicting a Murderer

There is a thread here on the forum about it. Not a lot of info, but they have been working on it for months already :) It will be interesting, I'm not sure how much they will be able to say or not say considering it's still in the courts, anything they do say, you can bet that Zellner will be watching and listening carefully.

I hope that Kratz isn't a big part of it, if his book is any indication, he has some 'facts' wrong, and honestly, that doesn't help the State or the guilty side.

It is at Calumet County evidence lock up. That was confirmed by KZ on twitter a few weeks ago when she did the questions/answers.

If this is true, not sure why they would have an issue with KZ testing. Was there a separate motion filed on the Rav4 and was it denied along with the request for the evidentiary hearing ?

A little off topic ...

Since the car officially belongs to Halbach's estate, wonder if TH's insurance compensates the estate for the value of the car at the time of death ?

I have to make a long story short because I need to get ready for work and go soon... KZ was in talks with the State about getting evidence to test, which she got some of it.. the judge issued an order... so those talks ended. KZ should have told the judge she was doing more testing and she didn't (I think KZ made a BIG mistake here...not all agree lol). If you go into the appeals documents on the avery case site, you will see letters to the judge, letters back and forth from KZ and the State. If I get a chance later I will link them, but I gotta go right now :(
