Gotta admit, I'd be interested.

Now, Kool, you know what my take is on it. We've talked about this before. I don't believe homosexuality is a sin. I think it is a completely natural thing. I believe in God, but not in the Bible. That's my take.
I believe you have every right to believe what you want to. As long as it stays out of our laws and public schools. As long as no one uses it to hurt someone that I love. As long as it's your personal belief and code, I'm fine with that.
Hey - even Leviticus is more fun than work!!!
Oh, I would, too. Particularly if Cypros would lend her expertise on ancient cultures.
Honey, dropping bricks on my feet would be more fun than the work I'm avoiding right now.
If we keep on these subjects, which I don't mind, I'm going to be the first taken to the woodshed,
kool look said:What is natural about a man laying with a man or a woman laying with a woman? Without being too graphic, in my eyes to start with, uhmm it just doesn't fit or go together for starters.
I don't want everyone to think I'm beating up on homosexuality, I'm not. I'm only sin free because I've repented. Sadly, I will more than likely sin again in my lifetime more than I want to think about. But I do practise trying to live righteously and Holy. I'm just a forgiven sinner.
So... if you catch a disease, it's because you've sinned?

No, not always of course. But somewhere down the line, say for example, a married woman catches a std from her husband who committed adultery, the sin is still there. The wife didn't sin, but it is a consequence of sin somewhere down the line. Bad things happen to good people. That's why it's so very important that we remain in prayer covering ourselves and loved ones with God's divine protection thwarting off evil that is meant to do harm.
Kool, if you (or anyone else) can convince me you actually follow ALL the precepts of Leviticus, then I will be able to respect your regard for the two-count-'em-only-two injunctions against gay sex. Otherwise, your invocation of selective rules is arbitrary and, one suspects, based on some inclination other than just obedience to God's Word.
Well, of course He is. Either He created everything (including viruses) or He didn't. You can't have it both ways. (Unless you are a Zoroastrian, in which case you believe in two Gods and attribute everything good to one and everything you don't like to the other. Now there's a logic system.)
But you and I agree that God doesn't send specific diseases to target specific groups of people for violating the rules of Leviticus.
Do you believe in the destroyer? Do you believe in the devourer? Do you believe in the thief that comes to kill, steal and destroy? Do you believe in the devil? The arthor of fear and confusion.
So... if you pray hard enough it will keep you and your loved ones safe from evil that would cause harm?

The Bible is not exactly God's Word. It is man's interpretation of God's words, and as such, should be taken with a grain of salt and an understanding of the cultural context in which the men who reported God's Words actually lived.
"Sin" is a weird concept that can (and has been) used to control people. If one person harms another in some fashion it's bad (criminal, or "sinful", whatever). What two consenting adults of any gender choose to do with each other is none of my business, and I suspect, no skin off of God's nose either. I hardly think a loving God, who created man in his own image, (including homosexual men), gave us the emotional and physical means to express physical pleasure with one another and then expected us not to enjoy that physical pleasure, or to enjoy it in strictly limited circumstances.
I realize that some would vehemently disagree with me and that would be their prerogative. However, the presumption of moral superiority is, in my book, a flawed concept and not one that I recommend to anyone.
As far as showing the movie to 8th graders, I think that was wrong mostly for the fact that parents were not able to give informed consent. But I (as the parent of an 8th grader) would have used the opportunity to discuss the issues with my son in a manner that respects ALL humans regardless of their sexual orientation. I believe that sexual orientation is a "choice" in the same sense that being six foot tall is a choice.
My opinion only, and not an attempt to change anyone's mind.
