That's okay Redbird. You don't have to discuss it anymore.
But I hope the new Suffolk homicide chief is open to discussing the possibility. That is unless whoever posted as Italyrider has been identified and questioned and officially ruled out.

Serial killers do some stupid things. Ted Bundy went around telling his victims and friends of his victims that his name was Ted.

I am still trying to figure out how Shannan lost her tight fitting jeans while she was running away from those that she believe were trying to KILL her. Her words, not mine: Help, THEY are trying to kill me. And for anyone to say at this point in time that these cases aren't connected is ridiculous if they don't already know who the killer is for the other gals.

I have just spent the afternoon merging the list of Long Island and some New York victims from the list I made and the list put together by Seaslug44. There are approximately 86 dead or missing since 1982, most of them dumped in Manorville. At least 23 of them were decapitated and/or dismembered. This list really blew my mind. Yes, I would say there is more than one killer. What is so shocking is the fact that our "new set of eyes" Chief Fitzpatrick, seems to have never attempted to investigate most of these cases or even tried to identify them. It was said in a Newsday article dated November 23, 2000 "FITZGERALD AND THE HOMICIDE DEPARTMENT ARE NOT CONSIDERING THE POSSIBILITY OF A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE CASES, INCLUDING THE CHANCE OF A SERIAL KILLER ROAMING THE SOUTH SHORE. "

In looking through the list of victims The Sopranos certainly comes to mind, and the thought that this large dumping ground (Manorville) had to have been completely overlooked by LE and local officials. Someone suggested the SK may have dismembered his victims, hoping they would look like OC hits. After making this list, I would say that is quite possible.

How many?

I will post the merged list for those interested in seeing the scope of this. I am counting women who could have been killed by our SK and men who were strangled or killed by blunt force trauma, or unknown COD. No gunshot wounds. I counted roughly 86 victims or unexplained deaths or missing sinc 1982 and at least 23 of them were dismembered and/or decapitated. Is that what you meant?

I have been telling you folks from the beginning there are bodies all over the place. The police find them all the time. What makes it different now is the publicity generated by the Gilgo and Gilbert cases. It is the 'Tipping Point" that made what is usually a Page 45 article into a front page story.

Just went thorugh Redbirds list and was feeling that way.
Lived here my whole life. Don't remember hearing most of them. I Don't recall when the original few bodies were found in Manorville (JT Torso). I Grew up watching news 12 and reading Newsday as long as i can rememer, like many who live here have. Have to agree Hawkshaw. SG was the tipping point that started this all.

I wonder, without SG. Would the finds over the past month in Manorville have sparked the old Manorville bodies and a different story all together?

I am starting to have trouble believing there is one killer especially if the last two finds in Manorville look like victims such as JT.

You said that there 86 dead or missing and most them of them dumped in Manorville. I thought there were less than 10 in Manorville. So I was curious how many there actually were.

I live in the midwest so am not familiar enough with LI to know exactly where these bodies were found if it was not clearly stated. Do we have to play gotcha?

This is a great find. It's so helpful to hear so much from someone so close to the investigation!

FYI,

The link has been posted here before. Once by rodent69 in one of the Shannan threads; I posted rodent's link in the Tech thread and I think shadowraiths posted it somewhere too.

Hawk, pg. 2 post #30. Do you know if the missing woman was ever located? Do you know which of the GB4 victims she knew? When did she go missing?

It is only a theory that needs a lot of work. I do firmly believe is the least of what is going on is that at least one of the dead gals is connected to someone the PD
and the forces of evil don't want us to know about. Just look what is going on in NYC with the latest sex scandal.

One thing I can tell you is tnhat only the other day I was in Manhattan speaking to an old friend of mine with 40 years investigative experience. He is still in law enforcement. He is looking for a hooker that has gone missing. His investigation of her whereabouts leads him directly to one of the identified gals found in the bag. He shared that information with SCPD Homicide. SCPD couldn't care less what he had to say and dismissed his call like it never happened.

That tells me certain things about the investigation: 1. they are incompetent not to take such a call seriously. 2. they already have someone or something in mind and they don't want to hear any other theory that upsets whatever plans they may have.

How do you not take thus information into account when you have little else?

Smart of you to bring this up deed. I believe hawk said she lived on E 13th st, if this is that same girl, I have been waiting to hear about this for a long time now

Jeepers. LL, you are making me question my sanity. That post sure is me, but I haven't a clue WTF I was writing about when I wrote it. It must be a brain overload. All I can tell you is if I wrote it then it must be true. I haven't a clue who the LE guy/gal is. But thanks for the reminder.........

Well I believe you had posted he was a Private Eye you knew, some of the details I remember are that the girl lived on E. 13 with her boyfriend, maybe that they hung out in Union Square...maybe you can try and think back...you have such a smart memory about all things burke....perhaps you can remember who you're friend in NY might be? In that post it says LE but I had thought you said PI at another time

Like I said, I wrote it and now I am starting to remember something about it. Something like this is not unusual, i.e., someone credible giving information to the police and it being ignored/discounted. I was just talking to someone only a couple of days ago offering information. That person got agitated and told me if it isn't earth shaking I don't want to hear it. He wasn't being rude or dismissive, he was being overloaded with information he couldn't possibly handle. I get it.

I just wanted to say hello and thank you guys for your good work as long as I am in the building. I then tell the guy what about that murder you guys never solved. Now that got the attention of some other guy - he was all ears.

I think the reason I brought that post up when I brought it up was more to express my theory that the cops already have a good idea as to who, what, where, and how it happened. One thing we can believe is any detective working that case WANTS to solve it, but not necessarily does the powers that be.

Hm in the post you said "His investigation of her whereabouts leads him directly to one of the identified gals found in the bag". Seems pretty significant, although we know "coincidences" happen here (Tangredi's daughter & Melissa, Bittrolff & Raffo[the coincidences all seem to involve Bittrolff don't they]). I'm surprised you wouldn't remember this if it was true because it seems to point to the missing escort being an LISK victim
