A little late getting back to this -- I had said that I had been at a party where this happened...
My date and I were at his fraternity -- I was a sophomore in college, and I had met my date in my class in Middle English Lit and in my calculus class as well. He was a nice, good guy. We were sitting in the activity room -- for dancing, hanging out, a juke box was there with their own records, a bar (of course), little tables, etc. It wasn't really a party -- more of just a get-together, and some of the brothers were there with their dates, and some were just hanging out.
After we had been there an hour or so -- we were just sitting talking at a little table -- one of the brothers pounded down the stairs from the second floor where the bedrooms were. He made an announcement -- "There's a girl upstairs who is taking all comers -- she's drunk and in the mood for some fun. Come on up if you want to meet her." Two or three of the guys (they did not have dates) jumped up and ran up the stairs. I was shocked by this scene, and so was my date. He said that he wanted to get out of the house -- he was afraid and grossed out, he said, so we left and went to our favorite pizza place. After that he still didn't want to go back, so we just rode around and went back to my dorm's living room and watched whatever was on TV. We never spoke of it again. I didn't ask, and he didn't tell. The next semester, he moved out of the frat house and into an apt.
A variation of the "train" scene, IMO. This was one of the "nicer" traditional fraternities, very well-respected. The story never got out while I was at the university, and I was there through grad school. So yes, it does happen.
Boys will be boys, right?! SMH
