I would love to have seen Drews face the minute he found out about Stacy's confession. He can say all he wants. But a jury is going to believe a priest over him.
What would be the motive for a priest to lie? I can't wait to hear Drew's excuse for this one. I guess that it is a case of mistaken identity. Someone (pretending to be Stacy) confessed to the priest.

And that's kind of how I feel about Tom. Why admit you've helped move a body if you didn't? Who in their right mind would want to draw attention like that to themselves?

I agree. That's why Drew has to say that nobody--to include Tom--helped him move anything at his home. Hopefully, the kids saw something.

That reminds me, did the son in fact testify before the Grand Jury yesterday?

Here's the breaking suntimes story - it tells about the priest and about the container and how Stacy said she told him she wanted a divorce and to get out the day she disappeared. Also, how he told Tom Morphey (stepborther?) over the phone that he had to do something about his Stacy problem.

I guess he is going to say everyone lied.
I don't think a Catholic priest is ever allowed to reveal a confession, but maybe it wasn't a confession or maybehe can if the person is believed dead. I heard this story aboutthe priest some time ago.

On Greta's site, we actually have some of the players like Randy Mucha And Ric Mims on the site as well as 2 people from thearea and so far they'be said it and everything they've said seems to come to pass.

I wish they'd get those children out ofthat psycho's hands.

I haven't seen anything about yesterday's GJ hearing..I think the brother's involvement took front seat in the news.

Awhile ago a commentator on FOX said (in other words) it was ok for this priest to reveal what Stacy said about DP murdering K Savio.

I've been looking for 'official rules' about what a priest can reveal and what he can't. I found this:

http://www.beliefnet.com/story/84/story_8482_1.html

In the end, this priest was allowed to reveal what he'd heard about a murder because he heard it in a 'heart to heart' talk and not in the line of a confession.

As Stacy was talking about DP committing the murder, it was most likely, IMO, told to the priest in the form of counseling or 'heart to heart' talk and not in the form of a confession.

Therefore, IMO, Canon Law wouldn't apply.

Wonder if Drew can feel the screws tightening?:behindbar

OMG:(
....Stacy knew that DP was involved in Kathleen's death...this makes me so sad..i don't know what to say...

It is sad.

I wonder why the priest wouldn't have gone to the police right away - as soon as Stacy told him?

On another thread it says he did go to the police right away.

I don't think the clergyman is a Catholic priest.

On Greta tonight, Mark Fuhrman and Greta's producer, Steph, tracked down the clergyman - they didn't say how. They showed a picture of the Westbrook Christian Church, and said that the clergyman in question was the pastor there in August 2007, and has since been transferred to another church. Mark and Steph, again not saying how they determinded where he had been transferred to, did track him down at another church. At this point, Mark Fuhrman explained how they met the clergyman, who was surprised that he had been found. In speaking with the man, they asked if he was the pastor at Westbrook Christian Church in August 2007, and he confirmed that he was. Mark asked about Stacy Peterson, and the clergyman said he couldn't discuss that.

At that point, Mark Fuhrman outlined several hypothetical situations with the pastor. The first situation was if the pastor learned through a counseling session of ongoing child abuse. The pastor said he was obligated to tell LE. The second was if the pastor learned through counseling that a spouse was being physically abused and saw bruises. The pastor said he would be obligated to report it to LE. The third situation was if during a counseling session the pastor was told of a prior crime by the spouse of the person being counseled. The pastor said that was a tough one - a fine line, that would require a lot of thought. Mark then asked the pastor, "what if you learned later that person disappeared under suspicious circumstances." The pastor said he would then report what he knew to LE.

Mark Fuhrman said the pastor's body language indicated he wanted to help within the constrains of his obligations.

They found the Clergyman from a tip that came into Greta's tip box.

Pastor: Ex-Cop's Missing Wife Feared Him

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (AP) — The wife of a former police officer told a clergy member months before she disappeared that she feared her husband, a church official said Thursday, echoing comments the woman's sister made soon after she vanished.

Stacy Peterson requested a meeting in late August with a member of the Westbrook Christian Church pastoral staff when the church made a routine call to see why she and Drew Peterson had not attended recent services, Rob Daniels, the church's pastor of spiritual formation, told The Associated Press.

At the meeting, Peterson said "she feared for herself because of her husband," Daniels said.
He would not say whether Peterson was afraid her husband would kill her, only that she feared "bodily harm."

Interesting, because what came out of this "meeting" vs. "confession" CAN be used in court, from what I understand.
